So, this morning, my mom got cookies. Nana used to eat ONLY cookies and she doesn't eat anything decent if she has sweets, so they are in the freezer with aluminium foil around them, labeled meat loaf. That's amusing. =)
What's not at all amusing is that we just took Nana out for dinner and, when we got home, she said "I don't know what happened to my kitty. Do you know what happened to her?" Well the kitty has been gone since my parents moved here. They didn't like the cat, they had allergies, the dog chased it, etc. So they took it to the Humane Society or somewhere like that. And didn't mention it to Nana because she doesn't remember things. She has asked them before if she has a cat and they just say no. Today she totally remembered that she once had a cat and no longer has it. It was so hard to say "I don't really know what happened to it, but you don't have it anymore." Because I know pretty much exactly what happened to it. But I also didn't want to say "Well, your son and daughter-in-law took your cat and gave it away." She said "I wonder if she ran away. I bet Kev knows." Kevin is my dad. I bet he knows. =
So other than that, no real news. Gonna go do some laundry. =)

Long Time No Post
I am alive!! We got moved back into our regular condo on Saturday. Or maybe it was Friday. Our days are really mooshed together because we don't have anything to do. =) We went fishing twice and didn't catch anything. Actually, I didn't fish because I don't have a fishing license (out of state licenses are way expensive). Emily could technically fish for free, but I don't know how I'd explain that to a ranger. =) Those pictures of Emily chowing on rocks are from our first fishing trip. Really pretty!
Anyway so we didn't get phone service until today, but we left for Pueblo within hours of getting it. So if you have tried to call us, that's why we haven't been around. We just got to Pueblo and we're going to hang out with my parents for a while. We'll go to the State Fair on Wednesday, I think. Tomorrow, we're on our own because my parents will be looking for land around Larkspur. We'll go see Harp's Great-Grandma and take a picture of her with Emily. She is 100, almost 101, and she doesn't even remember who her daughter (Grandy) is, so she won't know us at all, but that's okay. It will be a special picture for Grandy and maybe for Emily someday.
Last night, our church did a seminar kind of thing on stem cell research. It was really good and we learned so much! There have been no successful treatments from embryonic stem cells and lots and lots of successful treatments from adult stem cells. I'm not sure why the media doesn't talk about all these adult stem cell successes because they are really consistent and really amazing! This guy was from Alpha Omega Institute and their website is www.discovercreation.org. Very cool stuff!
So, I guess that's pretty much it. Oh, except that Emily gives kisses. I think she does, anyway. She has done it 7 times for me, but she gives big, open-mouth kisses. Like she's going to chew your lips. Maybe she just sees my pucker and wants to bite it. =) I'll pretend it's a kiss even if it's not.

My Old Hubby & Stuff
Harper turned 24 yesterday. =) My parents and his parents came up the mountain for dinner. My parents came around 2:00 and we went to Breckenridge for a while and looked around a glass shop. They all went home last night because Harp's dad was on call today and my parents are taking classes and have class today. My dad's doing welding still and my mom started a jewelry class (silver).
Not much has been going on. I sent Aduma those cookies even though I feel dumb for burning them. They really weren't bad when I ate some the next day. =) My mom brought me two bags of Andes baking chips and Harp's mom brought one of my cookie sheets. So I'll try again. I made Harp a castle-shaped orange cake. It was really good and I was glad it turned out - things just aren't the same at 9K feet!
The Supertones are playing in Greeley Sept 1, so we might go down the mountain. Sept 10, I am going some radio music market survey in Westminster for $50. I thought it sounded fun and I'm always glad to give my input. =) And the State Fair is only going to be 11 days this year, starting this Friday, so we're going to go to Pueblo for that at some point. We'll have to look at a calendar.
I want to be pregnant. Pray for me to get pregnant. =) I started talking to this lady at Walmart the other day in line who was at least 4 months pregnant (probably 5 - her baby was kicking a bunch) and her baby girl was almost 1. It was so cute. I want Em to be a sister. And I want to wear my maternity jeans. They were so cute.

Cookie Disaster & My Tongue
So last night, I burned almost all the cookies. The first batch burned because this oven is not at all the temperature you tell it to be. So I lowered it 50 degrees but they still burned a little. I was shortening the time every time, too. The last batch I did, I took them out while they were still mooshy and they were burned on the bottom anyway.
So the lesson is: those jelly roll pans that claim to be cookie sheets too... They're not good cookie sheets.
I want my air bake cookie sheets out of storage. But that's not going to happen for a while, so, Aduma, if you're reading this, that's why you're going to get cookies that are crispier than the ones you got before. They aren't bad, except the really burnt ones that I pitched. But they aren't what I wanted them to be. =(
We went back to Rocky Mountain Bible Church this morning. Didn't make it to the 8:30 service (hehe), so we went at 11:00. There were more kids there this time. Most of them went to "junior church" after worship. Supposedly, the message is presented in a way that kids can better understand, but it seems like a good way to keep them from maturing. Their parents can talk to them about the message after church if they go to the normal service. I guess I'm pretty opinionated, huh?
Well, the message today was on the tongue. Last week's was, too. And it was the week before we moved up here, too. Convicting stuff. Last week, I thought about it, but I was annoyed at some misuse of Greek (which didn't make his point unbiblical or anything, but it just wasn't true), so I wasted my time not gaining from the message. But this week was even more intense (that's a funny word for it, I know) and I know I have been rotten lately. And it's because I'm not spending time in the Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me. I'm spewing all sorts of mean things at Harper and then saying I'm sorry - because I really don't want to be that way. But it keeps happening because I'm just not giving control to God. So today, I say, I quit! And I'm making SURE I spend time in the Word and I'm going to let the Holy Spirit fix my heart and my mean tongue.
That last bit about a fig tree bearing olives or a grapevine bearing figs... I never really thought about that enough to realize what the point was! Whatever fruit we bear, that's evidence of what we are. If you look at a tree and it has apples on it, you don't have to wonder what kind of tree it is! I know that point is made other places, but I never noticed that's what James was saying here.
And I know I have been critical of Harper's parents and what this says right here is that if I'm not loving them, I'm not loving God. So if I say I'm loving God, I'm lying. Ouch. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Why do we have to learn things over and over again? Aaaaagh.
So I told Harp a long time ago that I would post really quickly and then play Dr. Mario with him and it's been SO long. So I'm going to go smooch him and play some Dr. Mario. =)

Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
That last bit about a fig tree bearing olives or a grapevine bearing figs... I never really thought about that enough to realize what the point was! Making Cookies
This is way too funny. Harper is helping me make cookies. We have no mixer, so he is trying to "beat on medium speed until light and fluffy" by hand. My wonderful husband... =)
Harp's parents got a letter from the people that manage the condo buildings and it said the building will be closed for 7-10 days. I don't know when they started counting, but I hope it was the night of the fire!
Tomorrow we're going to the early service at church because Harp wants to be with the young people. By young we mean 34. I think every mom in Mom's Group was 34. In Texas, most of our friends were quite a bit older than we are, but here it seems like people mostly just hang out with people their own age. And wait until at least 30 to have kids. We are so out of place here. Someone was telling me about this other woman that had FOUR kids! Like that was an enormous family. I think that's still a small family. Most of the people we've met only have one or two and don't want more.
Gotta run to the store and get baking soda... Thought we had some in the other condo, but we didn't.

Cookies & Schools
So I finally chopped up the Andes mints! And brought them over here from the other condo. I couldn't find the recipe online, so we went to Breckenridge to see if they had a bag of baking chips. They didn't, so I still don't have the recipe but I found one that sounds like it on a random person's website. Harp and Em are out getting me brown sugar and I'm going to make them tonight.
I can't believe how disgusting the public school system is. Boulder High School is doing a burlesque show. There's a big stink about it, but they are still doing it. Nobody under 17 is admitted because "it's not a kid show" but it's okay because they're "completely covered" and "not stripping." I saw the flyer and it is totally pornographic. They are wearing ALMOST NOTHING and it's totally seductive. What in the world????? I want to go protest too! I just can't even believe it. What's next?!
Still nobody over to work on the electrical stuff. I guess it is Saturday, so they probably weren't even working. I don't want to move my sewing or scrapbooking stuff over here because there's so much and it's so heavy, so I've been crocheting Emily a sweater.
Sounds like Ben Hager is going to come up and visit. Harper emailed him back about it, but I don't think Ben's written back yet. So I don't know when he'd come, but I think soon.
Guess that's all. =)

Fun, Fire, and Cake
So we had a really great day yesterday. We pretty much hung around the house all day, except to go to the grocery store and Starbucks. Oh, and I got some cute ribbon stuff at the scrapbooking store. =)
After Em went to bed, it got a little chilly and the heater kicked on. It hadn't been on all summer and it started to stink, so we shut it off right away. Well, it kept stinking and it seemed like it was getting stronger. I was up in the loft sewing and every couple of minutes, I'd ask Harp if he was sure nothing was on fire. I went down and we looked in the heater closet and it stunk really bad. That was pretty weird, but Harp figured it would quit. So after a while, I was like this place is going to catch on fire. Harp said he could see smoke down the hall and when I looked out from the loft, I could see a bunch of smoke too. So I asked if we could call the fire department and Harp said no way, but that I could call the apartment manager. So I went to call and the phone was dead and Harp turned the TV on and the cable was dead too. So I thought the place was going to catch fire any minute, so I ran (and I mean RAN) two buildings down to the manager's condo. That's not a great idea at 9K feet when you've been in Texas for 3 years. Well, unless the condo's on fire. I heard a smoke alarm on the way down our stairs, which only made me run faster. So the guy gets this out-of-breath explanation from me that I think something might be on fire but I didn't actually see it, but hurry up and come. So he came and looked at our heater and said there wasn't anything wrong with it. Then, he went down to the basement (parking garage) where the alarm was sounding and opened the door to the main electrical unit. It was in flames and he put it out with a fire extinguisher. The room and ceiling were scorched and he could still hear crackling, so the fire department came. There were 6 or 7 emergency vehicles, lots of fun blinky lights, and firemen running around yelling at us and going in all the condos. This lasted a good two hours or more. We still can't go back home, except to run in and get things. There's no power and some guys need to get permits to inspect all the electrical stuff in all those condos and fix the main unit. Last night we spent the night across the street with a couple that's on the board here. Tonight they have us in a condo in another building, which is nice, but much smaller and we don't have much of our stuff. They have this condo reserved for us for two weeks. Hope we're not here that long!
Anyway so I went to Mom's Group today and that was fun, but kinda disappointing too because all the moms talked about was how to bribe their kids and otherwise manipulate them into doing what they want (or to not care when they disobey) and how they wanted to work and not nurse babies (most of them already do work) and how their husbands and nannies are mean to them. So I pretty much just sat and listened. Em and I had fun on the swings and there was good cake and ice cream. =) Guess that's all. =)

Andes Mints
So I posted about how I got mints to make Aduma's cookies. And today I was going to unwrap them. Well I got the package that was opened and Harper ate almost half of it and then shook it around to make it look like he only took a couple (I'm not accusing him - he admitted to this). So maybe these cookies won't be as minty as the others. I don't remember how to change recipes for high altitude, either, and we're at over 9,000 feet. Oh wait. And the recipe I used for the mint cookies was off the bag of mint pieces! Hmm... So I might make a different recipe, I guess.
Speaking of high altitude cooking.. Harp tried to make black eyed pea soup for lunch the other day and it ended up being a late dinner. It was really good, though. Harp's a great cook. =)

Hola
So yesterday, we went to Six Flags. My poor girl only slept for 45 minutes from 11 to 9. We had a good time, but I think I'm getting old. I felt sick after every ride and got a horrible headache. I remember running around Carowinds in 6th grade going on everything. I took Em on the carousel first thing but they had seatbelts (yes, on the horses) and they wouldn't let us both on a horse. So I was going to have to stand and hold Em on the horse, but that really freaked her out in Pueblo, so I found a horse that didn't move. So we went around in circles on a static horse. Then I played with Em in the water at the kids' water park. I went on the new water ride, which was cool. And the spider (the state fair kinda thing) and I thought I was going to throw up. Then we went on the half-pipe, which is brand new and really crazy and I could hardly walk when I got off of that because my head hurt so bad. So then we took Emily on the little train. She was oblivious. And then we took her on the big ferris wheel. She actually looked out of the ferris wheel, so that was fun. =) Harp went on one other thing with Brittan but that's all we did. It was fun anyway. Then we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory, which was really yummy.
We missed Bible study, which is kind of a bummer, but tomorrow is Mom's Group and the day after, the guys are working on houses for widows and single moms. Like fixing stuff, not building new stuff.
Oh yeah and we're plasticed into our house. Some guys showed up to paint at 7am and put plastic over our door. Gonna go feed my chica.

Uncomfy Chica & Six Flags
Emily hasn't been napping well today and she had a little runny nose one time. It's clear, so that's good. I don't want to say she's sick, but she felt a little warm and she's not glad. =( Pray for my chiquita.
Tomorrow we're going to Elitch's for Brittan's birthday because the weater was bad Saturday. I hope my little girl doesn't get sick from it because there's no way she'll sleep more than 20 minutes there and it will be loud.
I went to the new scrapbooking store today and it's pretty nice. You can go in and scrapbook for free anytime and I can take Em and her Pack N Play. Very cool! =)
I told Aduma I would make him mint cookies and they don't sell Andes mints up here in a bag. So I got things of wrapped Andes mints so I need to unwrap them all and chop them up. I have been putting it off for 24 hours. I'm going to put it off a while more. =P Tomorrow we'll be gone anyway, so I'll do it Thursday.
So I guess that's all. Say hi to me. =)

Standin' Girl & Pums
I remembered what I forgot!! On Thursday or Friday, I went to get Em from her nap and she was standing in her crib. She's done it a couple times, but now we don't have a crib at the condo so she can't really stand in her Pack N Play. Nothing to grab onto...
This morning, Emily said "I did a pum!" Harp leaned over to kiss her and said "What's a pum, honey? WHEW!! I know what a pum is!!" She had a stinky, dirty diaper. So dirty diapers are now called pums in our house. =)

Yay!
So last night we went to the ice cream social thing. For the first hour and a half, it was a presentation in the sanctuary of the high school kids' mission trip to New York. It was so cool. They had a great video to show of the stuff they did and then they all gave testimonials and answered lots and lots of questions. It was pretty much a street evangelism thing, only in parks. So I guess it's park evangelism. =)
Then we went downstairs for tons of ice cream and cake and cookies. I met some of the moms from Mom's Group. Three of them, but only two of them that I talked to a lot. And I met the lady that own the scrapbooking store! I didn't ask her about selling stuff, but she asked if I needed a job. I said no even though it would be so fun to work at a scrapbooking store. =P Emily met a boy named Sam who will be 4 on Friday. She played with him during the presentation and when she started laughing really loud, I turned her around so she couldn't see him and she started fussing and fighting me. Harper took her out of the room. How do we teach her to not do that? I don't want to have to take her out all the time. And I don't want her to learn that she can be a toot and get out of things. Not that that's what she was doing that time, but I still don't know how. Help please?
Well I don't know what we're going to do today. Harper doesn't want to go have tons of fun and then get sick of it and be bored. There is enough to do here that we couldn't even do it all before it got cold, I don't think. Still no job. He actually got an email confirming that someone got his resume! lol, That's as good as it's gotten.
I forgot what else I was going to say because I remembered some stuff yesterday and then forgot it again... Well if you want to come up here, come!
Home At Last!!
We got up to the condo last night. It is nice to be a family again. Not that we're not a family with our extended families, but we haven't been alone together since about a week before Senior Design competition. Harp was busy on his project and my family was there and then he was gone for 5 days. Then we spent 4 days packing and driving to CO and we've been with family ever since.
Yesterday, we celebrated Brittan's 9th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's. Emily had fun on the slide and just watching all the chaos. They messed up the pizza order twice and gave Harper's mom a full refund on everything, so we went to Old Navy and she bought Emily a bunch of cute stuff. Fun! =)
This morning, we went to a church up here. There was only 1 person under the age of 18 and he was probably 12. We're used to kids and lots of them! Emily was sweet, but loud. She sang with us and preached a little, too. I ended up taking her out because Harp felt weird. Harper talked to the two people in front of him and he doesn't remember their names, but we are going to see them tonight at an ice cream social. He found out they have "junior church" at some time and that's why everyone there was 50-60ish. I saw a poster for "Mom's Group," which is pretty much just moms and their kids hanging out. But I didn't see any of those people. =P We still haven't figured out how things work there.
We've noticed that there are 3 groups of people in Summit County. Old rich people, mountain-men trekking health nut kinda people, and ski bums. I don't know where we fit in, lol. We pretty much don't.
There is a free bus system here that takes you all over Summit County. So cool! We went to the main bus stop to find a map or schedule or something, but nothin' there. We'll ask people tonight, I guess. I can't wait to just take the bus to Breckenridge whenever we want. There's a scrapbooking store there! We have 0 money, but I am going to see about selling stuff there that I can make with my super duper cool embroidery machine. The scrapbooking store is also a Christian bookstore, so maybe we'll find a connection at church.
Oh! And what else is really cool and free is our internet access. From ONE spot on the bar area, we get a nice wireless connection. Woo hoo!
My sweet chica is very bored right now. And probably a little sleepy. So I'm going to go see what's in her diaper and maybe put her down. Things have been a little messed up because she was up for SO long yesterday.

Oh Yeah
And another not-so-hilarious story that's a little bit funny anyway. But mostly sad. Tonight we had Em sitting in her high chair at the table with us. Harp's parents have one of those baby food grinders for small portions, so I ground up some green beans for her. She really, really likes green beans so I was excited to give her some. I gave her a bite, she made the most horrible face, started gagging, and threw up half her milk. We cleaned it up and for some stupid reason, I gave her another little bite. Again, she made a horrible face, started gagging, and threw up the other half of her milk. So we cleaned that up and I ground up some rice. She eats rice cereal all the time and all it is is rice and water. So I gave her a little bite of that and she gagged and choked and threw up more! So I had to give her a bath and I guess I'm getting her up later for some more milk. =)
Hilarious Story
Brittan was telling Terrie how his shoe insert was bugging him one day. After he left, she was walking by the bathroom and saw his shoe insert on the floor. She picked it up and it was a bat. It freaked out and started hissing at her. She threw it down on the ground, slammed the door, and shoved a towel across the bottom of the door so it couldn't get out. She called Animal Control and they came and used her tupperware to capture it (it was hiding behind the toilet). She had to take it to some health place and it hissed the whole way there. Cracked me up. Hope you enjoyed. =)
Good Talk & Em's First Real Owwie
I got to talk to Janet today for a really long time! We had a great conversation and I was really blessed.
Harper and I played frisbee for a while in the front yard, which was actually fun once I figured out how to throw it. I'm still not great at it, but most of the time it goes in the right direction now. =)
Then we sat out at the pond and fed fish and talked. Harp's parents have a really pretty pond with cool flowers and water striders and fish and waterfalls. And there is a gazebo out there by it where you can sit. We have spent quite a bit of time out there.
I found this thing online when I was looking for an overalls pattern for Emily... It's aidfororphans.org, I think, and they want people to sew these overalls and send them to an orphanage in Ukraine. My sister and I are going to make them together sometime. We were going to do it today but I had to get things ready to go to the condo. I don't know when we will do it because we are going to paint Candace's bathroom tomorrow and probably have Brittan's birthday party (weather's going to be bad for 6 Flags) and then head to the condo.
And, yep, Em got her first real owwie. Harp let her crawl under the coffee table and there were a bunch of heavy coffee table books between two granite bookends. She grabbed a book and knocked the bookend over and smashed her poor tiny finger. She has a cut and it's pretty icky-looking. My poor girl.
Gonna get ready for dinner! =) =)

Growin' Girl!
Emily has started pulling herself up without my help. I think the first time was Saturday. It's so cute! She runs around in her walker and twirls in her Johnny Jump Up. She babbles a whole lot and splashes in the pool and in the tub. I love having a baby and I can't wait to have lots and lots more! =)

Lonely But Joyful
I am amazed by the joy the Lord has given me. I just ask and He does it! I am tempted to be sad and pitiful sometimes, but I know how foolish that is. I want girls to hang out with. I miss Hannah and Lorna so much. And I miss scrapbooking with Julia and Sarah and Seriah. And Melissa and Alana. And going out for ice cream with girls like Brooke and Lauren and Grace and Sarah. And playing StepMania with a bunch of girls. And karaoke...lol. And I miss Chelsea a whole lot and hanging out with the Bourciers and Almeters and Crowes and pretty much everyone. =) I want to have young girls here that I can encourage and that can encourage me, too. But at the same time that I miss and want all of that, I am incredibly joyful! It's really cool.
My sister is getting over bronchitis, but she came over today and we talked for a while and she got to see Em. I started to take a nap, but Em melted her Papa's heart with her crying and he decided to get her up (I don't know if she slept at all for her afternoon nap!), so I took her to the park. We sat on the swings for a while and watched the kids play. It seemed like their parents didn't really want to be there with them or want to have any fun with them and it was really cool how much a smile meant to them. They kept saying hi and showing off for us. Someday I might tell my kids to play on the slide because I don't want to push them, but I really hope not. I want to enjoy Em all the time and I want her to enjoy me, too.
I finished some cute scrapbook pages and put them in my album today. I am excited to scrapbook some more. I want to find some girls to scrapbook with! My sister might start again because she looked at my albums and said it made her want to scrapbook.
Well, I guess that's it! Say hi to me! =) I love you all!

Hey!
I slept last night!! It was so good. I even went to bed early and slept a little late. After I fed Em, I went back to sleep until 10ish. Well, yesterday Brittany wasn't at church, so I didn't get to give Zoey her quilt. She's Zoey's mom, by the way. =) Em didn't sleep at all at church because the nursery was loud and bright. When I took her back there, the girls (I think college-age) asked me who I was babysitting. I was confused at first because I didn't know what they were asking (I don't remember the words they used, but I didn't get what they meant) and when I finally got it, I was like "Oh! She's mine!" They were kinda surprised and I didn't know what to say. I didn't explain that I'm not 16, so they probably think I'm a hoochie, lol. Anyway, then we had Chinese food delivered for lunch so Em could sleep. Then we drove to Estes Park with Harp's parents, which was fun until I had to nurse and I didn't want to nurse around Harp's dad and I'll spare you all the details but we argued about some stuff. Everything ended up reconciled last night, though, and this morning I made sure it really was with Harper's mom because I couldn't tell. So everything is good now but our trip to Estes wasn't as fun as it should have been. It was beautiful, though, and I wish I could go back and walk around. I was so tired because I only slept 2 hours the night before (I ended up going to bed at 4:30 and it took a while to fall asleep and I got up with Emily at 6:45). So anyway today we've done next to nothing. Slept a bunch and got in the hot tub with Em. It's pool temperature because nobody wants to hot tub in the summer. I guess that's about it. Our Xbox is broken so Harp's kinda bummed about that. I'm gonna go eat a granola bar and scrapbook some. My mom got me a new scrapbooking organizer thing and a paper organizer, so I'm really excited. =) =) And new feet for my sewing machine that I can't wait to use. Love you all!

Still Up
I tried to sleep for another half an hour (3:00 to 3:30). I have been reading apologetics stuff on the internet for a half an hour now. I just found a good quote (paraphrase, actually) and I felt like posting it. Here ya go:
"Without a personal Creator-God, how are you anything other than the coincidental, purposeless miscarriage of nature, spinning round and round on a lonely planet in the blackness of space for just a little while before you and all memory of your futile, pointless, meaningless life finally blinks out forever in the endless darkness?"
It's from http://christiananswers.net/q-aiia/cosmosallthereis.html. Good stuff.

Need To Sleep
I am quite disgusted by the fact that I'm awake right now. We went to see The Sound of Music with Harper's parents, his dad's midwife, Donna, and her two daughters. I had half a cup of coffee at intermission, which had to have been 9:15 or 9:30. I kept sipping it until the play was over. Now it's 2:20 and here I am. I tried to sleep, couldn't, and decided to get up and finish a dress I was making for Emily. Then I still wasn't tired, so I finished a quilt I was making for Zoey. I put it in the washing machine and tried to go to sleep, but I woke Harp up and he wasn't very happy about that. And I still couldn't sleep. So I came down to the basement and caught up with everyone's blogs. The quilt finished and now it's in the dryer. And I'm still here.
After we got home from the play, Harper's cousin and her son Brittan were here because they stayed here for Emily (she was sleeping). Harp asked Brittan if he was going to church tomorrow and he said "No, I gave up on church a long time ago." I don't know where he heard that because I don't think he would have said that if he hadn't heard someone else say it. But I got to share some of my testimony with him and that was really cool. It seemed like he really listened even though he was acting like it wasn't a big deal. Pray for him whenever you think of it. He's had a rough life and he's only 8. His dad wasn't ever really around and he committed suicide when Brittan was 5. It's really sad, but God is so good and only He can bring healing to him. I pray that Brittan will seek Him!!
We had a really great time in Pueblo and we really didn't want to come back to Greeley. We had to come back for the play, though, and to spend a little time with Harper's family. Pueblo was much more fun, though. Harp applied for a job down there that he's really excited about. It's at TRANE (they make air conditioners), so he would be a TRANE engineer. =P We really liked Pueblo and we had fun with my parents. I found out a bunch of stuff about our family history and saw some of the family heirlooms like my great-great (or maybe 3 greats) grandmother's tatting and my great-great-grandmother's bonnet. My mom found my great-grandma's Bible and gave it to me. It is marked up and falling apart - I am so glad! And I found my great-great-grandfather's Bible (marked, too), his copy of Ben Hur, and his autograph book from his graduating class at Harvard in 1859. There is a framed picture and original autograph of Henry W. Longfellow on the wall next to my great-great grandfather's picture and signature - he was given an honorary degree the year my grandfather graduated from Harvard. Don't know much about him, but my sister read one of his poems to me today. I found out that this old dresser we always had in our guest room came over in a covered wagon when my family moved to Colorado from, I think, Pennsylvania. Anyway I thought all this was really cool. Don't know why I never knew about it before - I probably didn't care before, anyway.
Well... I don't really know what else to say. I'm so tired but at the same time I'm not tired. I'm really going to pay for this tomorrow (I mean, today). I guess I should try to sleep again. It's 2:40 now and the quilt is done drying... I can't believe I'm still up... Okay... Good night. =)

Update
This is the longest I've gone between posts, I think! We've been busy. Emily was so cute at City Park Rides. I took her on the carousel and held her on the horse. After a few times around, I could feel her heart pounding and her arms were shaky and she had her eyes wide open. She was very sweet and didn't cry even though I think she was terrified. So I took her off the horse and she was glad about that. Then we got back on the horse together and that was okay, too. I took her on some ride that goes around in circles, kind of like the swings, but it was these torpedo things. That went pretty fast and I got dizzy, but she didn't complain. And we went on the train around the lake and that was just okay, too. Next year, she'll have more fun. =)
We spent a day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Springs. That was great! If you are ever around here, go there! The entire zoo is on a mountain. It's pretty good exercise and it's just a great zoo. They had white lions on exhibit for the summer, so that was neat. They have tons of giraffes and monkeys. Like over 20 giraffes. 3 baby giraffes born this summer, too. It was great. We were standing there watching the giraffes and this boy ran up (pretty old, like 9 or 10, I'd think) and said "MOM!!! LOOK at all the ZEBRAS!!!!" They were black (so you can hear the accent) and she said "Boy, those are giraffes." It still cracks me up.
Yesterday, Harper and I went to my mom's glass class with her. I made a bunch of jewelry (4 sets of earrings & necklaces) and Harp made a picture frame. It was really fun! My mom is starting a business called Rue Cerise, selling glass stuff (jewelry and plates, etc.) and my dad is learning welding so they can make cool chairs with glass backs. I'll have to take some pictures of my mom's stuff for you. =)
I have been working on a CUTE scrapbook page of pics of Em from July. I haven't even started scrapbooking my labor and delivery or anything else of Emily, so this was way out of order. But I did finish a page of my pregnancy and I almost finished 3 pages of my baby shower in Greeley. I still have to scrapbook Christmas... I really need to get caught up. =)
Emily sits very, very well now. She topples every once in a while, but not at all often. It is so cute! She is also getting some more teeth. They're on the top, but not in the middle. They aren't poking out yet, but you can feel bumps in her gums. She's going to be a cute vampire, lol.
My nana has been taken off some of her Alzheimer's meds and she is doing a lot better. She has been remembering things that really surprise us and hasn't asked where she is and how long she's lived in this house for days (she's lived here 48 years). But she's a little weird still. Harp saw her wipe a bunch of crumbs off her plate into her napkin, wrap them up in it, tape the napkin shut, and throw it away. Hehehe. =P
I can't think of anything else right now. I'm going to go digitize some bees. =)
