Contentment

We have some really awesome neighbors here that we love, love, love. The girls made shrinky dinks today and they wanted to take them all to Miss Donna. So they ran over next door with the shrinky dinks and gave them to her. =P They came back with a gift bag each full of candy and foam soap for the bath (like shaving cream) and little bath scrubbies and toothbrushes and stickers and notebooks. And probably other stuff I'm forgetting. Anyway Emily had asked Lainey if she wanted to trade notebooks and toothbrushes and Lainey said okay, so they traded. Well a couple minutes later I heard Emily asking to trade back. I thought that was kind of weird, but I didn't really ask questions 'cause I figured they could work it all out on their own. Aaaand also I was stuffing my face with Titus' M&M's. =) A little while later, Em showed me her stuff and I said "So you and Lainey traded back?" She said that she decided she really should have just been content with what they gave her and not wanted something else. Yayayayay!! How sweet is that? I was very proud of her for thinking of that and glad I didn't try to mess with the situation. =P

A Blacklog of Funnies/Memories

I have this little pile of papers with funny things written on them and it's about time I put them on here. =)

These are from when we lived at the Rabbit Hole, so April-August of 2011. Bekah was 2 1/2 years old, Lainey was 4 (almost 5), and Em was 6.

We dropped Em and Laine off at VBS with Tatum and we just had Bekah. She said "My Emmy and Lainey are at a PBS." I thought it was so cute that they were "her" Emmy and Lainey. =) And PBS...lol Probably because of Word World DVD's that we have. =) I remember when she was tiny and her favorite part of Word World was the "glub, glub, glub, glub...PBS kids!" part with a little fish. That was when we lived in Colorado. =) She called it the "blah blah blah" part, if I remember right. Wonder if I ever blogged about that. =P

Anyway on with the list... We had said something about going on a date for our anniversary and at some time had explained that an anniversary is sort of like a birthday, but celebrating the day you got married instead of the day you were born. Bekah said "Can I come with you? To your annibirthday?"

Bekah called Gobstoppers "gumsnappers."

Bekah: "There was a big thunderstorm and it was gonna about to say BOOM! It said BOOM!"

Bekah called lobsters "halobsters." =)

Bekah talked about "reggie" things, short for "regular" things. Like, her regular friends, etc. I never did quite understand what that was all about.

I took Bekah with me to a bridal shower for Josh Wisner's wife-to-be. Nobody knew at the time that I was pregnant and we were going to wait a little while before we told. But Bekah just told random people at the shower "My Mommy has a baby in her belly!" Ha! So much for that secret... And when we went to the shower I had just told her it was a party and she was disappointed that there wasn't a cake. She said "Where is the birthday?" (referring to the birthday cake) We rode over there with Mrs. Manchester in her car and when it was time to leave, Bekah said "What car should we take home?" =P Like we just had our pick. =)

Anything that was scary to Bekah had alligators in it. Harper had some video game music that was tense and scary and she said "AH! There are alligators in that music!"

In the Rabbit Hole, there were two mirrors facing each other in the bathroom and Bekah loved to "switch" with me. I would hold her and she would look in one mirror while I looked in the other and then we'd say "switch!" and turn our heads to look in the other mirror. She thought it was hilarious! And she would ask "Where are all the Mommas and Bekahs?!" You could see yourself soooooo many times. =P

After a while in the Rabbit Hole we got sick of not having furniture in the living room and Harper bought a giant bean bag. Bekah called it "Daddy's jelly bag bean" and then the "jelly bean bean" before she figured out what it was supposed to be called. =)

Harper had been laid off since April of 2010 and hadn't gone to work for the last 1/4 of Lainey's life... When he started working again, Lainey said "It's like you live at work." =( How sad is that? I think they still feel that way. He doesn't work overtime or anything, but every morning the girls are disappointed that Daddy had to go to work again. Lainey even wrote him a poem recently that was supposed to be for his cubicle that said something about how she loves daddy so much and she hopes he gets laid off so she can see him that much. lol =)

Bekah used to say "ack-shwee" all the time for "actually" and she said it very, very often. =P

We went to a park called High Park and a few days later, Bekah asked to go to "Tall Park." =)

These are from when we first moved into our new house, so Bekah was almost 3 at the time (Sept-Oct 2011).

Bekah would always say "ja" (like a German) for yes. Don't have any idea where she got it. =P

Bekah used to love drawing things for Keller. Just about everything she drew was a present for Keller. It was cute because he didn't really know how to respond to a girl drawing him things and it made him blush. lol

Bekah would play with pieces of paper and run them in the edge of the cabinet or fridge or anywhere she could find and say "Here is a fredit card!"

One day Lainey was looking for her Littlest Pet Shop spider. She said "Where is my spider?!" And Bekah pointed down the stairs to the basement and said "I poured it down there."

I was asking Bekah what starts with B because she knew B was for Bekah. I said "Think of something else that starts with B." She said "Butt." Yay for her very first time thinking of a word that started with a certain letter...

These are from June 2012...

Lainey: Mommy, I'm peepeeing in my pants!!!! (at Walmart, and she was not actually peeing - no idea why she thought she was) =)

Bekah: I need some foodage.

Bekah would pretend to be Link (from Zelda, which the girls were watching Harper play) but forget what her name was. She kept asking "What's my name again?" For a while her play name was "Link Francesco Butterfly." =) She loved Francesco from Cars 2 and spent probably two weeks at one point asking us to call her Francesco. "I'm not Bekah; I'm Francesco!" =P

Okay here are some recent ones...

I went upstairs the other night and found Bekah in my bed. I snuggled up to her and we had this conversation while she was mostly asleep...
Bek: I love you.
Me: I love you, Bek.
Bek: I love you always.
Me: I love you always - and forever and ever and ever.
Bek:  ....Yeah.

lol =)

I took Bekah for a walk on her birthday to take some pictures at the park (she referred to it as "our picture-walk" when she talked to Harper about it). On the way home I said "Bekah, I'm surprised you're four. 'Cause, like, when did you grow up?!" She said "Maybe 8:30? ...20? Maybe? Or 1? ...Maybe? ...Or maybe in the night? I went broooooop and growed up and now I'm four....  I like to be four." =P

Emily asked Bekah the other night if she could have any three things int he world, what they would be. Bekah answered, "Zhu-zhu pets, a swimming pool, and deodorant." Haha!! Em just got deodorant so she wants to be big like her. =)

Titus has all new nicknames, of course. Harper has called him Boudreaux for a while and it has shortened to Boudge. =) I call him Boudgie, too.

Yesterday we were cleaning out our garden and throwing away the dead tomato plants. Bekah said "Momma? Are we going to pack our things and move to another house because our tomatoes died?" lol She is too cute! She has moved too many times in her short little life. I guess when this is the 6th place you've lived in four years you might as well move when your tomatoes die. =P

While I cleaned out the garden, Emily cleaned out her "hideout." There is a landscaped area that is hers, and she pruned out dead stuff and plants with stickers on them and everything. She wants it to look like just plants from the outside, but like a house from the inside. She has a storage area, divided off by a grass curtain (which she made - it's pretty cool) and she has furniture in there (wood boards for seats) and food in her shop/pantry. Different leaves from the yard are different things, like spinach. Some decorative grasses are wheat. She has "sugar" and some other stuff back there in her store. =P

Lainey had a nasty wart that she got just before we went camping in Colorado (Labor Day). Harper has been putting tea tree oil on it daily since we got back and it finally is completely gone. I don't know if that was a slow way to kill a wart, but it worked! Lainey thought it was pretty funny to have a wart and would tease Bekah with it. Bekah told me the other day "I don't even like to say the word 'wart!'" and then today she said "If I say the word 'wart' it makes me wanna turn brown!" Hahaha! I know exactly what she means! =P Bekah got some blisters running around in rain boots (and no socks) and she was really worried that they were going to turn into warts. She asked me a bunch of times how I was sure they were blisters and not warts. =P

Bekah keeps asking me "Momma, what does 'Momma' mean?" And every time I say it means the lady who grew you in her belly. And she still keeps asking. =P

Em has been having fun learning about light and sound in Science and she just finished up her Heat and Energy book. She didn't want to do History the other day (usually she loves it but I must admit it's been a little more dull the last couple of weeks) and she said "Ugh, I don't want to learn about dynasties. Dynasties are boring." LOL

Every week the kids have a job to do. They rotate table (wiping it off after meals), sweeping, and dishes (unloading the dishwasher). So I have their names and their jobs for the week up on the whiteboard and Titus' name is right there with theirs. Sometimes it's "be cute" or "be precious" or "be adorable." Sometimes it is "grow cute teeth" or "smile that adorable smile." This week there are a few things on his list and one is "eat Chinese chicken." lol =P

Chicken

Titus has a new favorite toy. At least, the girls have declared it his favorite. =) It is a toy chicken leg. He likes to chew on it. =P Emily told him the great thing about that chicken is he always has leftovers. =P

Bekah is going to be 4 years old tomorrow. That is crazy! She is going to have a butterfly birthday party with Selah (who turned 4 on Monday). Neither of them really like cake, so we are doing strawberry shortcake and ice cream. At least they will like the berries. =)

Antidisestablishmentarianism

Bekah Jane is sitting at the table saying "antidisestablishmentarianism" over and over and over. =P She is kind of singing it. lol Lainey was proud of herself for learning to say that word the other day. Emily has been teaching them both. =P

Bekah's little catch phrase right now is "thingamadoodle."  "Momma, where did I put my thingamadoodle?" "What is that thingamadoodle?"

We got 60 pounds of organic apples and 38 pounds of organic oranges the other day. Bekah is sooooo happy about all of the oranges. I have canned some applesauce and apple pie filling and made an apple crisp that I want to eat more of. =)

Titus is getting to be a fast crawler. He makes such cute sounds. He's started flipping his lip to make silly sounds, too. =P

The girls had a great night at archery last night. I think it's so cool that we have the chance to do that. Emily wants to save up for a compound bow. =) Too bad we couldn't use it here.

Lainey is into Dick and Jane now and I love seeing her on the couch with her nose in a book. =) She and Emily have reading dates sometimes. =)

I sanded down Bekah's old high chair and painted it black with red lettering (was brown with pink). I put a crotch strap and buckle on it. I made it when Bekah was two, so I didn't bother with buckles. But I made them all easy (for me) to remove and wash. It looks way better than it did before and Titus loves his new chair. Kind of sad to be putting the bouncy seat away again. =P He is so big!

Oh, all the buckles for his high chair were harvested off of our baby backpack. When we went camping in Colorado, we put Titus in it and some of the straps broke right off. All of the red webbing was super easy to rip. So when we got home, we called Kelty to see if there was anything we could do. They actually sent us a brand new baby backpack for free! We just had to cut the straps off the old one and take a picture. The new one is even better than the one we had and Titus has enjoyed going for a ride on Daddy's back when we walk around the neighborhood. =)

The girls and I made a couple of pumpkin pies the other day. One was supposed to be for our neighbors, but they are out of town, so we ate them both. =P I love that Emily likes to make tortillas and pie crusts. =)

Guess that's all for now!

Cruising =)

I forgot to say that Titus is cruising, too! It is so cute to see him moving around. It just looks like he's really thinking about where he is putting his feet. =)

We went to a pumpkin patch today and it was lots of fun. Echo and Erin and Bethany came, too. We had lunch out there and played a bit more after lunch. The kids all rode a funky little horse? Donkey? lol I will have to look at the pictures and see what it was. I don't think they were donkeys but they were small. Anyway Titus got to ride one, too. =P Going to go look at the pictures... =)

And the other... =)

We could feel his second tooth yesterday morning! What a big boy.

I made him a leather jacket yesterday and today out of Harper's old one. If anyone asks me to make a leather jacket, the answer is NO. lol And don't look closely at his. But he sure is adorable in it!

10.06.2012

And it's here!

We can feel Titus' tooth today. So cute! The second one is almost in, too. =)

Corn and Oranges =)

Bekah absolutely loves corn on the cob. She asks for it every time we go to the store. It is the new "bascaragus." =) She also loves oranges and asks for oranges every time we go to the store, and pretty much every day. I just put in my Azure order and got 38 pounds of oranges. Ha! She is going to be ecstatic. I will definitely have to get a picture of her with 75 oranges. =)

We had corn the other night, and Emily flipped out and threw her corn and said there was a worm in it. Harper was like oh come on Emily there is not a worm in your corn. He picked up the corn and there was a nasty big worm. Not a little guy. lol I don't know when she will want to eat corn again. It was not cute. =P

Titus is making such cute little sounds. He loves to stand up in his crib and he pulls up on everything. We have these potty seats that have toddler seats stuck to the lid with a magnet, so you can pull them down and use them and then when you close the potty, the toddler seat sticks to the lid again. Well when I take Titus potty, I hold him backwards on the pot and he has discovered the little potty seat and now he tries to grab it and remove it from the lid when I take him potty. Agh! I've been trying to get him used to sitting on it and going potty the normal way, but he's yet to do it. He almost has a tooth. It is so very very close, but not through yet.

I finally finished Titus' baby quilt tonight. I am also finally painting the main floor of our house. It's slow going with a bunch of kids. =) I don't want everything to be all messed up for days, because I'm doing many coats of trim paint, too. So I pulled out the piano and did the trim behind it, and then pushed it back in, and then did the trim behind the couch and pushed it back in, etc. It's not at all efficient as far as painting goes, but it keeps it from being a disaster.

Ti Guy is crying for his late-night milk. =) Later!
