Ohhhhh, he's so cute!!! Titus started waving today. He puts his arm up and then turns his hand like he is serving something on a platter and just holds it there. =P
We had a great Thanksgiving, with tons of food and a fun family day. Emily made apple pie today and she and Laina made peanut butter balls yesterday. I helped roll them, but they did all the mixing and coating in powdered sugar. I made kahlua cream truffles yesterday, too. Mmm!
Lainey made a banner and Em made some cute things on straws and toothpicks and she made menus. =) So much fun!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Poetic Girl =)
Emily has been telling me poems that she has written and it is super sweet. =) I asked her to write some down for me. I'll ask her if I can post them when she does. =)
The other night, we all sat around the living room with all the lights out and a fire in the fireplace and just talked. Em and I were on the floor looking at the ceiling. Emily said "Mom, you know what the best constellation is?" I asked what. She said "A happy family." =) I said "Oh, are we a happy family?" She said "Yeah!...and our constellation is like a heart. With Mommy and Daddy here and Emily and Lainey here and Bekah and Titus here." And drew out the heart constellation in the air. =P I told her I wondered if she would say no because she sometimes has a fit when I ask her to clean up. ;) lol She said "Wellllll, we're still a happy family." =)
Em has been having lots of fun making purses and wallets and things out of duct tape. She made a "shoppe" today with advertising and coupons. =) The girls think it's funny that the quilt shop is a quilt "shoppe." =)
They ask and ask to go to the quilt shop in Wichita, but it's not about the fabric. =) It's about the kid-sized furniture and books. I always read Bekah books when we go up there and she loves books. Her favorite book right now is Green Eggs and Ham and we read it daily, often more than once. =) She has most of it memorized.
Lainey does not have it memorized at all, but she does a really good job reading it. I have to keep from laughing when Lainey gets to a hard word and stops to sound it out and Bekah knows exactly what word it is. Bekah is reading some of the beginning reader books now, too. Lainey has just really taken off, though. Harper was asking her to read things in Sunday School that she had never seen before and she had no trouble at all. He is very relieved to know that she is smart, lol. She is so goofy and clumsy. =P She will remember anything put to a song. She was singing really long verses the other day that she learned at VBS in the summer and we hadn't been practicing them for months.
I don't know if I said I was memorizing Titus. I was trying to have the whole thing learned by Thanksgiving. I might still make it, but I think probably not. It's easier to learn when it doesn't hurt to talk. =) But I have been trying in my head at least. I know Chapter 1 very well, and the first half of Chapter 2 very well, the second half of Chapter 2 pretty well, and Chapter 3 I am iffy on the first half and haven't even begun with the last half. Maybe I will try with scripturetyper tonight. If I can't talk, I can at least type. =)

Siiiick
Long day. Finally went to the doctor after being sick since Wednesday night. It wasn't all that awful to start and it seemed to get better, but then it got worse again. Anyway, I have strep.
On the way out the door I said hi to my neighbor Donna and told her I'd been sick and we were heading to the doctor. She offered to watch the kids and I told her I had already taken Em and Lainey to a friend's house, but I was taking Titus with me to nurse and Bekah with me because she had a rash that I didn't want to spread around. She told me one of her daughters would get a rash and no other symptoms when the family got strep and that I should tell the doctor about it. So I did, and he said it looks like a strep rash. He only tested me, but it was positive, so we are both on antibiotics now. Strep rash is scarlet fever. Doesn't that sound worse? =( Poor Bekah. She has been fine but she coughed a little when we got home and I sent her to have a nap. I don't know if she is hot from napping (she sweats when she sleeps) or if she is getting a fever now, but hopefully the antibiotics will do their thing quickly. =)
On the way up there, we passed our mailman and I waved. A confused Bekah said "Mom, do you know you just were waving to a house?"
She had a little bag of goldfish crackers and she said "Did you know goldfish turn into peanut butter?" Eeeew! "...In your mouth!"

Egg in Burrito
I started coughing a little on Wednesday night and then felt worse Thursday until I was pretty much miserable Thursday night. Sick all day Friday, feeling a little better Saturday, but then way worse again Saturday night. This morning I don't feel great. Not awful, confined to bed or anything, but coughing and a sore throat and that means Titus and I are home while everyone else is at church. I'm missing the girls singing in choir. =( But I played Em's song on piano this morning and she sang it for me. =)
So Friday morning Harper was home because it was his 9x80 day and we had no water because a water main broke down the street. So he went and got everyone McDonald's for breakfast. I don't remember if I even ate breakfast but that sounded gross so I didn't eat McDonald's. But he got us all big things of water and bacon or sausage egg and cheese muffin things. Bekah had eaten a third of hers before she said "Aww! I didn't want egg in my burrito!" lol She caught herself right away and was like "Pffffff, I mean sandwich." =)
Bekah sounds like she says "bermember" for "remember." I'm pretty sure that is how she says it, but when I've asked her, she says no. =P

Orange Peels
The other day Bekah said "Do you know I like to eat orange peel?" I said "No, I didn't know that." Trying not to laugh because I'm the one that always finds her orange peel and has to tell her to come throw it away (or I throw it away myself). She said "Well then you don't know your kids at all!" LOL!

Growing Ti, Funny Bek
Titus started having little conversations with us the other day. We say "dah!" to each other back and forth. For like five minutes. =P Hehe! It is so much fun. Titus stood up on Friday for a good 15 seconds before he decided to dive for my plate of hummus. =) He is getting so big!
We went to a drama thing on Friday night that a bunch of people at church were in. People had been talking about "the drama" all week. As we pulled into the parking lot, Bekah said "What's...drama? ...Is it...when you act?...like a baby? Like mmwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!?" Hahaha! She has never heard the word drama other than "Okay, I'm done with the drama!" or "You're fine. You're just being dramatic." =P
Bekah learned to ride her big girl bike a month or so ago and I forgot to blog it. She calls it her "bike with wheels," even though it's her bike with pedals. =P I mean, it has wheels, but the Like A Bike does too. =P She thought the pedals are what training wheels are. We had told her the Like A Bike was for her to learn to balance so she wouldn't need training wheels. She thought she just didn't need training wheels on the Like A Bike, and that now she has them on her big girl bike. And since the pedals are the difference, she thinks the pedals are training wheels. =P
Bekah has funny and vivid dreams. She told me the other day about a dream that two Maters came to the neighbor's house. I don't remember if they were trying to take the neighbor's car or hurt the neighbor's car. But she said she ran outside to see them. I was like no but you didn't really go outside. She said yes she did, it was real life! I said well you aren't supposed to go outside unless you ask Mommy and Daddy, so did you disobey us? =P lol She had to stop and think about that. =)
Then the other night there was a wooden arm coming out of the wall in my bedroom with a wooden hand and it pinched Bekah and pinched Titus. She said she broke it off the wall, but she didn't have a sword. I was laughing as she was telling me all of this and she was like no this is real, Mom, it's not funny. And she showed me where on the wall the arm had been. =P
A few weeks ago she woke up crying and she came in our room and told me Lainey took her shoes and she wants them back. I said Lainey's sleeping and she didn't take your shoes and told her to go back to bed. She cried and cried on the way back and I thought she probably still thinks Lainey took her shoes... So I went in there and snuggled her and asked her if she knew she had been dreaming and that Lainey was asleep. She said no it wasn't a dream and Lainey is up in her bed wearing her shoes. I asked which shoes. She said her purple sparkly ones. I told her there is no way Lainey can fit her foot into Bekah's purple sparkly shoes. She insisted that she had. So I asked her if she wanted me to check. She said yes and I checked and told her Lainey was up there barefoot and asleep. She didn't believe me. =P So I asked her if she wanted to climb up and feel Lainey's foot. She climbed up and felt the foot that was out of the covers, but then she tugged and tugged at Lainey's blanket until she could get to her other foot to make sure that IT didn't have a purple shoe on it... And then she was like "oh" and got back in bed. =P lol
