Movin', Movin'

Today we should start moving into the new apartment. We'll know after lunch if we can get in today or if it will wait until tomorrow. I was excited to pack and move to Colorado and I was excited to repack and move to Kansas. But I'm not at all excited to get all this stuff together and move to another apartment that we'll only be in for 2.5 weeks.

Part of the reason I'm not excited is that it's a frosty, cold day. I don't know if it snowed last night or if it's just frost because it's pretty icy. But it's not at all a pretty day. That's really sad because today is also my birthday. It's no different than any other day - it just gives me an excuse to not want to move in the cold today. =)

Gotta do laundry, ironing, and dishes...

I also have to take the car to get some stuff lubricated (transfer case and rear differential, I think) and get the radiator flushed and the transmission fluid checked.

I think to make up for all the boring things I have to do today, I'm going to go to the scrapbooking store. =) Harp's parents gave me a very generous gift certificate there for my birthday. =) Thanks, Mom & Dad A!

Harper has a collection of Fat Tire bottles (okay only 6 of them) by the fireplace. Wonder if he wants to keep them when we move. =)

Yesterday, we searched this side of town for Worms 4 for Xbox. Didn't find it anywhere. We played some Worms 3D last night and Harp beat me every game. =)

Today Harp got our health insurance stuff set up (my hero!) and I have an appointment tomorrow for an x-ray and whatnot so the oral surgeon can tell me I need my wisdom teeth out and then schedule an appointment to do that. One of them is coming in and I was told when I was 17 that I'd need them out because they're coming in at an angle. My jaw had been kinda hurting for about a week so I'm glad I know what it is now. Hey, Anna, wanna watch the girl while I go to the oral surgeon? Or just come with me? =)

Well I guess I should get busy 'cause I have a lot to do! Don't know when we'll have internet access at the apartment (it won't be until we get some cord to use our cell phones to use AOL dial-up), but the malls have free wireless so we'll probably do that every couple of days.

Harper

Harper is handsome. =)

Yesterday, we got him a button-up shirt at Old Navy for $10! It's really cute. I mean, handsome? =) And Harp's parents got Emmy some cute clothes, too! And some Robeez boots. They're so cute!

Then his parents took me birthday shopping so we went to Walmart and I got a crock pot and Hoopla and embossing tools and an embossing stencil. Fun stuff! =) I'm excited to use my crock pot. It's stylin'.

Today we're going to go look at the outside of the house and go downtown and hang out I guess.

Yesterday, Emmy woke up an hour early and hardly had a morning nap and we were out until after 3:00 and she was totally sweet! She had 2 pretty short naps after that and then was up until 9:00. This morning she made a peep at 6:30 and then slept until 9:00! SO nice! It will be good to get her back on schedule, though.

Gonna go get some coffee!

11.25.2005

Yum, Yum, Yum!

Yesterday was SO fun! We cooked a bunch and Harp started a fire (in the fireplace, not the kitchen) and we had music on and it smelled so good! I love Thanksgiving. And we had leftovers for breakfast! =) I think that's my very favorite breakfast. Here's my (very predictable) top 5 things I'm thankful for:
  1. Jesus & the Holy Spirit
  2. Harp & Emmy
  3. Extended family
  4. Food, water, & shelter
  5. Living in a country with freedom of speech & freedom from religious persecution
Okay #5 is slipping away, but I'm thankful we (mostly) have it now. And because we still do sort of have it now, I'm going to say that it about drives me nuts that people say they are "thankful" for this and that, but don't believe there is anyone to thank for it! That's totally contrary to the definition of the word. Whew, it's out. =)

Well, Harp's parents got here last night and we had a great dinner and a really really great dessert. I ended up using Amaretto and Kahlua in the bread pudding - can you tell I like toasted almonds? We ate half the truffles. I think I ate a dozen of them and everyone else had 1 or 2, lol. Then we played some cards and went to bed. They are staying at a hotel and we haven't heard from them yet this morning.

I can't wait to go shopping! Emily is growing out of everything, including her footie jammies. That's kinda sad! I would chop the feet off if I wasn't going to have lots more babies to put them on. =)

Guess that's about it. =) Happy Thanksgiving!

11.23.2005

Cool

We are cool now! I mean, we have cell phones. =)

We found an apartment for our other temporary housing. It's going to be $379 a month (up from $325 because it's a 1-month lease). Housing is so dirt cheap here! Anyway, we're not going to pay for the phone activation and whatnot, so we decided to just go get cell phones. And when we move into our house, we may not even get a ground line unless it's the only way to get cheap internet access.

I guess I shouldn't put my phone number on here or the whole world could have it, but I think it's really cute that we have consecutive phone numbers. =) And cute phones that were free.

Harper peeked and Emily really does have a tooth coming! So fun! It looks like it's kinda high on her gums though so I hope it doesn't come out really weird. =P We'll see.

I like alcohol in desserts! A whole lot. =) I don't drink pretty much at all unless there's stuff for a toasted almond (equal parts Kahlua and Amaretto and then as much cream as will make it taste good) and then I have one. =) But alcohol in dessert is the best!

Harper's suddenly become really interested in brewing. He's been reading about it online for a week or so. When he started at McCauley, he got a buddy guy that's kind of on his level. That guy, Sam, is into brewing, so Harp's excited.

The truffles are WAY good. =) I want to eat them all up! I should have eaten them before I let Harper know about them, lol. I am so excited for tomorrow! Oh, I was going to make homemade rolls and I forgot to put that on the list. No pie because I made one Monday and we ate it all in a couple of days. And it was sweet potato pie and I made too much sweet potato so I ate a whole one for lunch one day. So no sweet potatoes, either.

You know what I'm most excited about? The green beans. If everything was cooked right now, that's what I'd be eating. Even over the truffles. Guess I need to eat more veggies. =)

Harp's on the phone with Phil and he's giving him advice to "look beefy" for his wife. LOL. He said he hasn't gotten beefy for me and that's why he can tell him that.

I got to talk to my sister for almost half an hour tonight! She was on her way to Pueblo from Greeley. Laurin, comment when you finally see my blog! =)

I'm going to go see what there is to eat. =)

Teeth!

I think Emmy's getting a top tooth! I am not 100% sure because I thought I saw some whiteness at the surface a week or so ago and it was gone when I showed Harp. But I know there is whiteness there today and if Emily could talk, she would probably not have nice things to say about how long I spent prying her mouth open, looking at it, and poking it. =)

I think we found an apartment to move into for a month. =) Gonna pick Harp up from work early (they're all going home early because there's not much to do) and go see it. I dropped him off today so I could go to the post office and go grocery shopping for Thanksgiving.

If you're interested, here's my Thanksgiving menu:
  • Fresh green beans with bacon and almond slices
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Corn off the cob (straight out of the can)
  • Turkey, of course! And stuffing in it (Patti Reynolds' recipe).
  • Jellied cranberry goop out of a can (I think it's vile, but I got it for everyone else)
  • Kahlua truffles (which I made just now and they are SO yummy)
  • 3 packs of Berry Blue Jello (Harp loves Jello and is very proud that he got Emily totally addicted to it)
  • Bread pudding (using amaretto instead of brandy unless Harp wants to buy brandy! Giada made it with amaretto, so maybe it's good?)
That's almost as many desserts as sides. =) I feel like I'm missing something important.

Well I should get offline so Harp can call me when it's time to pick him up. We only have dial-up here. =)

Honeymoon Pics

Honeymoon pics are on the wedding page now. You have to click the November 2005 link because there were too many to go on the page. I dated them all Nov 15 so they'd be below the wedding pics. =)

Harp came home early! We are so excited to see him. =)

Hola!

Hey! Today is a super-exciting, happy day. =) It's Harp's first day of work! It's just orientation stuff today, but still! He looked SO handsome in his khakis and a button-up shirt. Ooooh, my hottie! =) =) =)

The first thing I did was clean this house!! It's easier to clean when I'm alone. =) Then I took a nap while Emmy did.

Now Anna is here and we're making pies! Mine is in the oven and Anna is going to freeze hers and bake it for Thanksgiving. I made sweet potato and Anna made dutch apple (Harp and Nate's picks). Yummy! =)

Harper asked me to call two places today. One was Duke Energy about how to sell my stock (I don't know anything about stocks, which I know is really sad) and I did that. I don't have ANY idea what the other thing was. I thought it could have been calling about the other temporary apartment, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I looked into that on the internet and have all the info just in case that's it. =)

Pretzels

We're making soft pretzels tonight. Yum! I'm making them, except for the part where you have to beat for 3 minutes at meduim speed. Harper volunteered to be my mixer because we don't have one. =)

I really want to see yeast under a microscope. Harp says it looks really cool and you can watch it reproduce like crazy. =) Exciting!

Harp has a new name for Emily. It's Schmutzi. Schmutzig is the German word for dirty. Schmutz is kind of like muck. I don't know a better translation for it. It's the stuff that makes something dirty. Harp kept talking about how she had Schmutz on her and decided her newest name should be Schmutzi. He wants me to make sure you know the 'u' makes close to the 'oo' sound in foot (it's actually kinda between foot and boot). Not like the 'u' in putt. =) There really isn't a sound like it in English anyway but he just wants you to know it's not like putt, lol.

I was going to post some wedding pictures but then I got carried away and I decided to just make another blog with wedding and honeymoon pictures. And maybe another with retro pics. =) I haven't put them up yet. They won't be updated or anything but that way those pictures won't take up 100 posts on this blog.

I better go work on those pretzels. =)

Long Post

There have been so many things I've wanted to post and then I always forget because we hardly get on the internet and it's super slow when we do. I'm not very motivated to blog. I miss LeTU's high-speed access!

Well, it's kinda lonely being back in Kansas. I feel like my allergies just whopped me over the head. I am tired and kinda zoned out even though I slammed 2 cups of coffee! This post may not make much sense.

It felt really good getting home in 8 hours. It is half way to Colorado, so it's a huge difference. We won't have to make a 16 hour trip again! Well, I'm sure someday we'll do it for some reason or another. But I'm glad to be only 8 hours from everyone.

I'm having problems getting pictures on my blog. I don't know if it's a connection problem because I
always get a few to work. I have been having this problem since Picasa updated and stopped using Hello and BloggerBot. Is there a trick to getting it to work every time? The first picture always posts. Maybe I just have to close Picasa in between. Or close the webpage. Doesn't make sense, though. Or I could just use the link on the website and not bother with Picasa.

So, if you wanna know about our weekend, here you go! On Friday around 10am, we started talking about going to Longview. Harp said if we could split the cost of gas with Anna, we could go. Oh, and we had to make sure our house inspection wouldn't be too soon. So I called Anna and asked if she wanted to go, thinking Nate wouldn't want to go ('cause when we talked about going for Family Day last weekend, Nate didn't want to go). So Anna called Nate and he said maybe he wanted to go too. And we found out our inspection isn't until Wednesday. So we waited for Nate to get off work. We went to pick them up, but Nate decided he didn't want to go. So we left here around 5:20 with Anna. We hadn't called anyone except Hannah to make sure she didn't have to work and would have time to see me. =) I was going to call Janet on the way down and let her know we were coming but Anna said she wasn't telling her parents, so I didn't want it to get out! =)

So we got to the Reynolds' house at 1:30am. Anna had a key so we tried to go in the front, but the second door was locked. So we tried the back door but you can't unlock the deadbolt from outside. So Anna called Philip a couple times and he didn't answer his phone. So she finally called her parents and they got up to get the phone and noticed the porch light on. So Patti came over to us, looking tired and confused, and realized it was Anna. It was pretty funny, but I'm not sure they were glad to be up. We spent the night there and they made us a GREAT breakfast.

Then we went to see Clint and Hannah. Em and Lorna played together and laughed together. I think Emily really misses Lorna. We miss all of them. =( But we will do something together every St. Patrick's Day! We went to McAlister's (that doesn't look right, but I don't remember how it's spelled) for lunch and Em and Lorna sat together.

Then we went over to the Bourciers'. Only Janet was home and she was painting, but she was excited to see us. =) We hung out and then Michael and the boys came home and we hung out a while longer. The girls were with the youth painting a house.

We went over to the Crowes' and then to the Forringers'. We were going to go to the Almeters' before that, but we thought Chelsea and Ravi would be out painting, too, so we decided to go see people with little kids first.

Bronwyn took me in the kitchen and showed me these really cute snowmen Deb made out of jars. And then she said "Look! This is what we had for lunch. It was really good. We had it on buns. It's sausage with grease and sugar on it!"

Emily had fun with Amara and Josiah. They were really sweet bringing her toys and playing with her. Josiah said "Thank yous for coming over my home. See you Thursday!" So cute!!

Then we took the Girble (that's Emily) to the church because the college students were watching kids for date night. I wanted to let Emmy sleep because she'd hardly had a nap all day and we were meeting the Bourciers for dinner. I asked them if someone would stay in the nursery and they said yes. So I put her down and we went to Lotus Inn. I went to pick her up and there wasn't anyone back there with her. I didn't say anything, but I wasn't at all glad about it because I ASKED if someone was going to be back there. I wouldn't have left her if I'd known they'd all be in the coffee room.

Anyway then we hung out with the Bourciers for the rest of the night and stayed there.

Sunday, we went to Crossroads, of course! I really miss it. I can't wait to have a church here. I was in the nursery feeding Em for the first part of the message and then Harp told me he'd get the tape so I could go back and hang out with Dana and Tracy and Hannah. We listened to the message on the way home. We miss Bo.

Harper just put my peanut butter and banana sandwich in the fire!! It's way cold here (it snowed some this morning), so he made a fire and he's putting whatever he can find into it. I was done with my sandwich anyway.

After church, we went to Double Dave's with the Hubers, Forringers, and Woodys. And the guy from Poland that Dave is training, but I didn't actually meet him. We were at the other end of the table. Dana has pictures of all of us on her blog. =)

Then we went to Clint and Hannah's again and the girls were supposed to take a nap, but they stayed up "talking" for a little bit first. It was pretty cute.

Then we went to the Bourciers' and had dinner with Hannah and Lorna and Greg, Patti, Anna, and Ryan (I don't think Philip was there) and all of the Almeters. Then we stayed up late with the Bourciers looking at old pictures and doing puzzles and listening to Lauren read from It's A Jungle Out There. I think that's what it was. =)

Yesterday, we got up and had breakfast and then went to see Clint and Hannah a little bit more. Then we stopped by Dr. Hood's office to say hi and then went to get Anna. Patti sent us off with some yummy lunch and we got on the road around noon. Got here around 8:45, I think. We stopped for dinner and a few times to feed and/or change Em. She had a big explosive poo that got her car seat icky and her clothes icky and it took a while to get it under control. =P

Well I guess that's all for now. I still can't really think very well but my allergies stopped bugging me so much when I had this to focus on. We may go to Old Navy and see if they have any super-cheap, warm clothes for Emmy. =)

Home

We're back! We had a GREAT time in Longview! We really miss everyone. If you have pictures, please email them to me (katieabbot at gmail)! Full resolution if you can do it - I want to print them for my scrapbook. =)

Tonight, Em pulled my hair pretty hard and it hurt so I told her it really hurt and did the sign for pain. She signed it back to me with a questioning look. Either "Is this how I say owwie?" or "I hurt you?" Cuteness!

Em was SO good on the way home. She didn't fuss once about having to go back in her car seat after a stop. She laughed and played with Anna and was totally sweet except when she was trying to potty and when she was sitting in a mess after she finally went. I'm proud of my girl!

And tonight, toothbrushing was perfect! No fight or anything. So glad I kept swatting her the other night and didn't give in! =) If you hadn't heard about it, Em was sticking her tongue out and grabbing her toothbrush from me and pushing me away. It was so bad! Now she is opening sweetly. I can tell she still doesn't like the feel of getting her teeth brushed. But she's being obedient. Hooray!

Home, Sweet Home!

Guess where we are?? Longview! Well, Diana. We're at the Bourciers'. Came down last night and brought Anna. Much cheaper trip when you split the cost of gas! We surprised her parents at 1:30 this morning. Hung out with Clint and Hannah this morning and went out for lunch and then came out here. Em's sleeping like a log. Don't know what we're doing when she gets up. We'll be here until Monday. Guess that's all! =)

News!

We looked at lots of other houses yesterday and liked almost all of them. They were on the west side and the one we liked best (Cute House - it actually had a positive name!!) was on the northwest side. Work is on the southeast side. We calculated that at $2.10 per gallon (it's been $2.06 - $2.15), it would cost $220/month in gas living there. Boo to that!

So we countered again on the house in Derby. We had originally asked for them to pay closing costs up to $3500, leavev all the kitchen appliances, and offered them their list price.

They moved the closing date from Dec 2 to Dec 16 (which is actually quite a big deal for us because if we stay here past Nov 30, they charge us $87 per day - so now we have to find somewhere to live for 2 weeks), said they'd pay up to $1500 in closing costs, and they wouldn't fix anything found in the inspection.

So we were just going to forget about it because that's really lame of them to not fix things found in the inspection unless they're all just small, superficial things. But after calculating the gas costs, we decided to counter again and we asked for $2500 in closing costs and said they can have their close date but everything else is like the original offer.

So they came back again and said okay but pay us another $500 for the house. And they still aren't going to fix anything. So we are going to say okay.

But there is so much that could break the contract. If the house doesn't appraise for $500 over, I don't think we can get a loan for it. I don't know how all that works. We are putting 5% down so I guess the loan amount is less than the value of the house so maybe it doesn't matter. I don't know. And if something big is found in the inspection, we can back out and we would because we be po'. But the thing is, this is the only house in our price range that we really liked that's close to work.

We went to see Dry Rot House again and there was water damage that we hadn't noticed before and the garage ceiling is a little saggy. The bedrooms are on top of it. =P That freaks me out. And we didn't like it much after seeing lots of houses we really liked on the west side.

So anyway maybe we have a house. We still don't have any pictures of it. =P It is cute, though! =)

Harp's out getting a haircut. He didn't want me to do it because we don't have a broom here. Lol, I think he just didn't want me to cut his hair. =) That's okay.

Our TO DO list today:
  • Go to Walmart. Buy thread, net, and fish bowl.
  • Go to Oak Park. Catch monster (bullfrog) tadpole. Smile.
  • Shop for work clothes for Harp.
  • Ponder what's going to happen after Nov 30.

And, for your entertainment, Harper's ranking of the enjoyability of Wonka candies:
  1. Laffy Taffy
  2. Runts
  3. Bottle Caps
  4. Sweet Tarts
  5. Nerds
  6. Nerds Gumballs

Emily played peek-a-boo with me yesterday all by herself! It was so adorable! She was lifting my sweater (not on me, lol) over her eyes and pulling it down, making the 'I see you!' face. lol It cracked her up.

Other than playing with Em and looking for houses, I have been playing games with Harp (mostly Worms 3D) and reading Created to be His Help Meet (the Debi Pearl book). If you don't have the book, you should get it. =) I have a hard time reading it in order because I open it somewhere random and have to read the whole chapter. Harp says I'm reading it like a magazine. But I really am trying to go straight through it and I'm even rereading chapters that I skipped ahead to before. =) Gonna go read some more. Oh and find you pics, too.

No House

So we don't really know what's going on regarding our offer, but they wanted to close later than Dec 2 because the guy has finals that week. We don't know if they are going to want to close later or just accept another offer (they got another yesterday). So we are going out lookin' again tomorrow. We remembered another house we liked though (Dry Rot House) and noticed it's listed for $5K less and it's vacant. So we may just make an offer on it. Don't know about Stinky Green Carpet House, but Shari will call us when she knows. We have to make sure the offer we already made is void though.

Not much else going on. I talked to my grandma yesterday and my mom some today. My parents are back from Portland.

Emily is cute.

Update

So, we went and looked at 8 more houses on Friday and found one we really liked. We made an offer today at 6:35 pm. =) They have until 7 pm tomorrow to consider the offer. We are excited. =) =) And our wonderful realtor is giving us a washer and dryer. Isn't that so awesome of her?? She got married a month ago (her 1st hubby died 16 years ago) and they have 2 of everything now. If you want to buy a house in Wichita, we recommend Shari Boehlke. =)

Yesterday, we went garage sailing (lol, that's too funny) with Nate and Anna. Harper got a bug zapper. And we got an old autographed copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People ($1), which we will promptly sell on eBay ($???).

Then we went to a bonfire cookout kinda thing on a farm with the College & Career group at Nate and Anna's church.

We went to their church this morning. Em didn't take a morning nap (she sung instead) and was totally exhausted for church, but I didn't put her in the nursery. Of four babies in there, one was hacking up a storm and another was coughing and sniffly. DisGUSTing!

So after church we let Em sleep for about 20 minutes while we whipped together some burritos. Anna came over and we all went to see the house again. They cleaned the carpet in the living room yesterday and it's quite a bit cleaner, but it's still bad. It was pretty gross before.

Then we came home and let Em sleep for an hour and a half or so and then went back to Shari's office and wrote up our offer and did lots of random paperwork. Em sure had a rough day. She usually takes 3 naps and she really only got 1. She has said 'Momma' a whole lot in the past couple of days. And 'Mamamamamamamama,' so the 'Momma' isn't for real, but I think she's trying. =) She did start this the other day when I left the room. She started crawling toward the bathroom saying 'Mamamama.' Maybe she knows what she means. I don't know. But I know today she tried to say 'book' and Anna was there, so I have a witness! =)

I am SO TIRED. So I'm going to catch up with everyone super-fast and then sleep! =)

House!

So we found a house that we really like today. We found out that someone else might make an offer on it on Monday, so we might go make an offer tonight. =) It's a totally cute 1 1/2 story with a finished basement. Nice neighborhood with a lake. It needs new carpet in the basement and little boy's room. And a major carpet cleaning in the living room, which they are doing tomorrow. So we'll see if it gets clean. =) I guess that's all our news because all we've done today is house hunt.

House Hunting

Yesterday, we saw 7 houses. We liked 3 of them, but we are going to go see a bunch more today in Derby. I think the most fun part of house hunting is naming the houses. We like Stinky Green Carpet House, Clock House, and Corvette House. I don't like the kitchen in Corvette House, though. Stinky Green Carpet House is actually under contract, but if it falls through (it's contingent on the buyer selling their house within a few days or something), I think Harp's going to want to make an offer on it. It's pretty huge. It smells a little smoky, but painting and shampooing the carpet should fix it. And someday we would definitely get rid of the green carpet, lol.

So anyway we are getting ready to go huntin' again. For your entertainment, the houses we didn't like were Garden House and Smoky Nightie House. The other two were ghetto enough that we didn't even bother giving them names. But I would call them 50s House and Ghetto House. =)

Actually, I really liked Smoky Nightie House because the kitchen and living room were totally open. But the woman was a very, very heavy smoker and it just about knocked me out when I walked in the door. And she was home and came to the door in a silky nightie. Scary, no? After revealing herself to the entire neighborhood, she said she would have to go put a robe on if we wanted to come in.

We'll see what adventures await us today. =)

Oh, and we like our realtor. She's great. =)

Smuggler

Something eventful did happen Tuesday! I was looking through pictures and I found this video I took... I wish I had pictures, but they wouldn't make sense. We got Em up from her nap on Tuesday and brought her in the living room. We noticed something lumpy by her knee. At first, I thought she'd done something with her diaper again, but it didn't make sense. I felt her knee and it was squishy. She had a rubber airplane toy stuffed up her pants, lodged in there by her knee. Now, I know it wasn't in there just a little while before her nap because I pulled her pants down and checked for poopoo. We have no idea how she got an airplane in her pants... Crazy girl!

Good Morning!

This was the day we left for Kansas. Harp and I had been up for hours getting ready and getting things loaded. Em woke up and Harp went to get her. I grabbed the camera and walked in and took a picture and this was her expression when she saw me. I love her huge smiles! Posted by Picasa

Wichita

Yesterday, we picked Anna up and we all drove around Wichita for a few hours, pretty much just seeing what areas were ghetto and what areas were nice. We ate at Taco Tico. Yesterday and the day before we ate at Taco Bueno. Maybe today we'll go to a different taco place. =)

Oh, so we loaded another storage area on Tuesday and still didn't fit everything, so we brought a huge desk and our headboard and footboard into the apartment. Craziness. So Tuesday we pretty much didn't do anything eventful.

Last night, we went to a birthday party and we met some people! That was fun until it got too late for Emmy to be sweet. We met a girl that is a realtor's assistant and she said our realtor is really good and that Derby is a good place to buy with good resale. So we're excited because today we are going to Derby with our realtor (and Anna). It's a small town, southeast of Wichita. Harp is going to work at the very southeast corner of Wichita and I think some of the guys in his office live in Derby. Doesn't that sound so country? Derby, Kansas. I like it. =)

So far, I think my favorite thing about Kansas (other than Harp and Em being here!) is how gorgeous the sunsets are. It more than makes up for the flatness. Colorado doesn't have sunsets like this.

My parents are in Portland right now, going to a glass class. I don't know what my dad is doing because I know he's not going to all of the classes. I guess just hanging out.

And I guess that's all my news. I'll post some pics. =)

No 'Net

So, we don't exactly have internet access at our apartment. Maybe we'll get something worked out today. Or else go to Starbucks. I am posting this through email, which will send whenever we get a connection. =)

Yesterday, we hung out with Anna all day. We were all tired and kinda zoned out. And Harp and I were not the best company because we were grumping a lot. I'm sorry, Anna. =( But then Nate came home from work and we all went to the storage place and loaded some boxes up. Our space isn't big enough, so we have to get another one today. But we really don't have much left to unload, so then we can drive around Wichita and call our realtor and maybe we can house hunt tomorrow.

Emily is 10 months old today! I was going to have her portraits taken again, but Harp's not as keen on that as I thought he'd be. =) So I think I'll be waiting a while. I kept out my Nana's chair to have Em's picture taken in it. It was her first chair when she was 1 year old. There's a little note written on the bottom of it saying that and the year 1924. It was my chair when I was little and my mom repainted it (the same as it was before) because it was looking old. It's red with a little gold line around the seat.

I want to have Em's picture taken with Hop Bunny sometime, too. =) He was my favorite stuffed animal and pretty much my best friend when I was little. Pathetic? Yes. Totally. I didn't really have friends. In fact, I didn't really have friends until I accepted Jesus and I was 19 then. =) Praise God! I have friends! And really super-good ones. =) =) =)
