Kid Art

Emily drew Calvin and Hobbes this morning. SO CUTE! =P She was looking at specific pictures of them when she drew these, so that's why Calvin has his mouth open. =P


Lainey's drawing. =) On the left is Emily and Mommy. You can see the letters for Laine and Mommy. =P On the right (which was on the back of the paper before I scanned it) there is Harper with Lainey and Bekah. Lainey is the one that has the pigtails. I forgot to ask what is on Bekah's head. =P I LOVE how Lainey draws people. They are too cute!

My Faithful Laine =) & Tooth Praise

Last night we were doing the P90X test that you do at the beginning. I had to do jumping jacks for 2 minutes and do them as quickly as I could for the last 30 seconds and then write down my heart rate for 4 minutes. I had to do it twice because I couldn't get the silly heart rate watch to work the first time. Apparently, it only works if it's not strapped to my wrist. Works for Harper. Anyway Lainey did jumping jacks with me for a while the first time I did it. So when I went to do it again, I asked her if she would do them with me. She did them for the whole two minutes. In the last minute, she said "my top body hurts!!" and she started crying a little, but she kept doing them anyway and finished the whole two minutes with me. I couldn't even talk to tell her she could stop, lol! =P She was so sweet.

Tonight we did our first workout. Hard stuff. Emily and Lainey wanted to do it too, so they did some push ups and pull ups. =) Lainey told Harper, when he felt like puking afterward, that it wasn't really that hard. =P lol

Emily spent the day reading Calvin and Hobbes. We met Harper for lunch at Joel's (Sandpoint's Alejandro's) and she took it in there. After naps, she grabbed the book again and read it until we started P90X, then again when she quit working out with us, and then more waiting for dinner. =P Harper thinks it's the cutest thing ever because he used to read lots of Calvin and Hobbes. =) I think it stinks that I had to explain hanging to my 4-year-old, but oh well. "Mommy, why is that rope around the snowman's neck?"

Oh! And! I blogged how Bekah's tooth was coming in so horrible, right? Well I prayed that God would just fix it. =P It went back in. Jen said that's happened to her kids and they've had to go through cutting the tooth twice. I have never had it happen before. Anyway it came back out today and it is perfectly normal!! It's not even close to touching her front tooth. If I forgot to blog it, it was coming in behind her front tooth and half overlapping it. YAY! =)

I'm off to play some Cranium Cadoo with my fam. =P

Lainey Cuteness

Laine: When you were little, was Grandma still your mommy?

Me: Yep. She was a mommy like me and I was a little girl like you. Actually, I was a little girl like Emily and my little sister was Aunt Laurin. So you are like the Aunt Laurin in our family.

Laine: Grandma was a mommy just like you?

Me: Yep!

Laine: And you were a little girl?

Me: Yep!

Laine: And...when I was little, was I Aunt Laurin?

100 Noodles

Lainey finished her spaghetti and said "I ate so much! I ate a hundred noodles!" Em said "You ate a hundred - percent!" LOL I can't believe she is almost 5. But then I can, 'cause she is so big. Sometimes she finishes my corny songs - and it even rhymes and is funny. =P She is always making me laugh and I love seeing her sense of humor. =)

For Em's birthday, she wants a pink castle cake that is lying on its back. I asked why she didn't want it standing up. She said 'cause then it would be too tall to eat. =P She doesn't want to serve the cake on its side. =)

Mommy Fish, Stuff

Hey! Well we had a great Christmas with Harper's parents. We Skyped with my parents and my sister on a makeshift 3-way video call. My parents had us on one laptop and my sister on the other and pointed them at each other. =P Pretty clever, eh? =)

We just got home from taking Harper's parents to the airport. We stopped by the mall in Spokane Valley on the way home. Tried to stop by a cake supply store but found out it's closed on Mondays.

Anyway the other day we were at a restaurant looking at their fish tank. There was a big orange fish in it and Lainey watched it for a while. Then she told Grandma "I think that one's a Mommy!" Grandma asked why and she said "Because! It's smiling!" How precious is that? I told her she makes me smile. =P She's so cute!

Emily got to open her birthday presents from Harper's parents last night and among them was a big doll with blonde braids that she named Emily Claire. Emily Claire's birthday is also January 1st. =) Emily came with us to the mall today, she slept in Emily's bed last night, and she even has clothes on! =P We seem to always have naked babies in our house. Em took her clothes off last night for bed, and I was surprised to find that she put them back on her this morning. =)

Things that excited my kiddos on Christmas: I made Bekah a fleece monster and when she opened it, she said "Roar!!" Lainey hugged some flannel that I wrapped for her to make a pillowcase out of - it has cars on it. Lainey also hugged a pink wooden puzzle car that we got her in CDA. =P She loves cars!

Anyway what else? I'm sure there is a TON to blog, but I kinda need to get some laundry going and start cleaning up the Christmas Aftermath.

Oh! I got my $500 gift card in the mail today! I wasn't gonna blog about it until I had it and now I have it. =P So I did one of those gift card deals where you have to complete 8 offers and then you get a $500 Visa gift card. I only spent about $15 on it because most of the offers I did were free. Yippee! Only I don't have any idea what I'll do with it. Groceries, I guess. =P I can't justify blowing it just because it was (almost) free. Oh as part of the whole thing, I also got two $25 gift cards to Starbucks, which I got a week or so ago. So $550 for $15. Yeah!!

Oh, AND we also got P90X in the mail today. Aagh! I carried Bekah all over the mall until my arm felt like it was going to fall off so I am totally not wanting to start P90X tonight! But I'm sure I won't want to start tomorrow, either, lol. ;) The video I started doing with Alyssa that one time was HARD!! But Harper is motivated so maybe he can get me on board with the whole exercise thing. =) Haha!

Bekah loves to walk between her sisters holding hands. We walked around the mall like that a whole lot because my arm was getting tired. =) So cute!! It was especially cute today because they all had matching shirts on. =) Fun!

Sweet Emmy

Bekah likes to drive her car. I thought it was cute that she was carrying around two sets of keys.

She is into putting stuff in other stuff - including tossing things in the trash can or the toilet. =P

She is also into sitting on things, which I vaguely remember Emily and Lainey doing at some point. We call it her "experiments in bottom placement." She likes to sit on us in bed in the morning when we wake up. On our backs, on our bellies, on our heads... =P Earlier today, she was sitting in the teeny tiny wagon that Emily made at Home Depot. She spent a lot of time getting a good seat on Emily's laptop - she tried all different directions, lol. =)

Bek is getting her 6th tooth - it's one on top and now she is going to have three on the bottom and three on top. It's kinda cute that her 5th and 6th are on the same side. =P She will look kinda lopsided if those other teeth don't hurry up! =) Sadly, her new tooth is coming in very crooked and halfway behind her other teeth. I bet it really hurts. Bek hasn't been herself the last couple of days. Poor girl. And I've decided to just not brush her teeth until it comes in because I keep making it bleed with the toothbrush. It's just barely at the surface. My poor baby. I want to get her and snuggle her. I just stopped waking her up for milk about a week ago and I miss the sleepy snuggles. She would give us such great snuggles and then she would get giggly and silly and tromp all over our bed and just crack up. Gonna miss the late-night Bekah trompfest. =P

Lainey started calling Bekah 'Rebek' and it kinda stuck. =P We don't call her that all the time, but we do call her that fairly often. =)
