MIM Challenge

Hey! Well yesterday I felt like doing something crafty so I made a card for Hannah's birthday (which isn't until April). Her favorite color is pink and I found this fun pink flower digital paper for free... So I decided to do the hot pink and acetate challenge on Liz's blog. So, here it is! Simple, but I like it. Not quite as cute as the Hambly owls, but I'm itchin' for summer and it made me smile. =P

It doesn't stay closed very well and I had a hard time taking a picture, so I decided that I'll look for a black paperclip and stick a pink flower on it to clip it closed. =) The front is all acetate and the inside is just white for now but that's what you see - it's not part of the front. This is my first ever blog challenge. I think I'll do another. =) It was fun and then I didn't have to think as much about what to do. =)

What's Kickin'?

They are remodeling our Walmart, which means everything is exactly where you least expect it to be. Shoes are in crafts, crafts is in the almost-outside garden center, electronics is in shoes... I hope they're printing the pictures I sent, come to think of it...

Anyway so today we went and looked at the crafts section. All the fabric is gone and they have a bad, bad selection of thread - bummer. But then I found tons of these iron-on rhinestone things that I had never seen before, all for pregnancy shirts. Body by Baby, Eating for Two, some others I don't remember, and What's Kickin'? I loved the What's Kickin'? one! And I have been wanting to try the freezer paper stencil thing that Jen or Jaime linked to like a year ago. And I got a plain black maternity shirt at Hickman's garage sale to freezer paper stencil something onto someday. So it all worked out AND Harper even thought it was so cool that we did it together tonight. How awesome is that? I only had to cut out Kickin'? And he did the What's. =) So here's the pic:

The Slide

Woo hoo!! It is really fast. We have to catch Em at the bottom or she lands on her rear every time. We'll have to make some sort of landing pad. =) Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa! And my honey who built it. =) Emily said "I'm so excited!!!!! I really like my slide!" She was beyond ecstatic. =)

Crafts

Today I got:
  • Fabric paint to make a freezer paper stencil shirt or two or three or four.... =)
  • Wooden Lainey letters for a sign for her door (Em has one)
  • Fabric to make Em and Lainey old-fashioned dresses (and Emily a petticoat)

Things To Do

I need to remind myself why I don't want new projects, so...

  • flip flop quilt
  • scrapbook, scrapbook, scrapbook
  • brown skirts for girls
  • my jacket and (now) Lainey's jacket (which I started in Frisco for Em!)
  • Chinese shirts for me and (now) Lainey (which I started in Frisco for Em!) and I have leftover fabric so maybe one for Em too because she loves that pink shirt she wore yesterday...
  • the girls' apple jackets
  • the t-shirt quilt I've been meaning to make since before I met Harper
  • valences for the kitchen
  • shades for the kitchen
  • valence and curtains for giraffe room
  • finish living room curtains or at least steam them and leave them as is...
There is probably more that I'm not thinking about... Well there is a new one, which is what brought on this post. Because I have more than one new one in mind... But this one oh wait! I can't say anything about it because it's for someone who reads my blog. =P Stinker! Well, I'll call it the mystery project. I think it will be cool. But you won't find out about it for another month. At least not telling about it takes some pressure off, lol.

Today I need to make a dessert and side for the church picnic. I was going to do the cake yesterday and didn't do it and now I remember why I was going to do it yesterday... "chill at least 6 hours in the fridge before glazing." Oops. I didn't even look at it until 1:50 today. Gotta run to Walmart to get stuff for chocolate mousse. Yummy and quick. Hey what a dumb thing to have at a picnic! Oh well, maybe I'll put it in a smaller bowl and fill a bigger bowl with ice and stick it in there. Better get a move on! And start thinking about the side, lol... Maybe Harp will make his dill potatoes for the grill.
