Hey! Well yesterday we had a really good time helping Dustin and Ginger move. Em and Lainey were napping for most of it, but when they were up, they were such good helpers. Emily was always ready for something else to carry. =) Lainey carried some DVD's to the basement and she carried the pillows around and tried to put them on the couch they went on. I helped her get the pillow to where she could shove it the rest of the way on and she was SO proud of herself. =P Little cutie.
Amazingly, I didn't have bad allergies yesterday. They have cats and I am probably more allergic to cats than anything else. The only things that would come close are grass and dust. And there was plenty of cat and dust in the air and Ginger had just vacuumed, but I was still fine.
Today, however... Wham! I got slammed with allergies. Sudafed, Zyrtec, Flonase, and lots of local honey later, I'm a little better. Not much. But enough that I'm glad about it. =) The drugs really didn't change a thing. I don't know if the honey did, but I did feel better after it. Coulda just been time for it to let up - I don't know. I did take a little nap (well I wasn't actually sleeping but I was in bed) while Harp made dinner (what a man!) and I have felt better since then, too.
For some reason, even though my allergies are bad today, we decided to tackle our carpets big-time. I have this huge problem with vacuuming. Every time I vacuum, I have bad allergies the next day. I know it doesn't make sense. I should have them right away, right? But I don't and I don't know what the deal is. So then I dread vacuuming and let it go way too long and then it's probably only that much worse allergy-wise when I actually do vacuum. We put baking soda all over the carpets (don't know if that will really help but it's worth a try - we couldn't find the dry carpet cleaner stuff) and Harp is vacuuming it up with the church's Dyson. That's what it's called right? The ones that are supposed to be really good and not lose suction. I don't even want to see what is coming out of our carpets, lol.
So anyway today my brain was not functioning well (worse than usual, I mean, lol) because of my allergies. I forgot I made tea, then Harp told me about it and I asked him if he'd put a bunch of honey in it for me. He did and by the time he brought it to me I had forgotten I made it all over again.
We went out this morning and I got some stuff for CK for her birthday. =) I don't know if she'll read this so I can't say what but I'm excited and I know she will be too.
I got a zipper and some horsehair and some different thread for the wedding dress I'm making. Realized on the way home that I forgot a needle that I needed, so we turned around and got it. I had 3 separate transactions at JoAnn's today because my brain is so messed up.
Right now I'm working on the wedding dress. Well no I'm blogging but I have been and will soon be working on the wedding dress. =) What did I even get on the computer for? Well I guess I should keep workin'. Blog ya later!

Funny Emmy & Abbot Words & Moving
We got out of the car at Dillon's and Em said "It smells like some kind of STINK!" =)
Does anyone else know what ferch is or is that exclusively an Abbot family word? If I remember right, Harper's Grandpa Harper said it... Anyway Harp's family uses it and so do we. It's something dried on (usually on silverware) that didn't come off in the dishwasher.
And dirt bird. Where did that come from? I say it all the time and Harp pointed out that his dad says that and that's where I got it from, lol. Is this an inherited Abbot family phrase, too?
We're headed out to help Dustin and Ginger move into their new house. I'm excited to see it! =)

Zacchaeus
Oh and Emmy is really into acting out the account of Zacchaeus. =P The tree is up our stairs (you can see down in the living room from the top). She always wants to be Zacchaeus and I'm Jesus. =P I have to prompt her once we get to Zacchaeus' house (our kitchen floor) but she finishes saying what Zacchaeus says. =) So fun!
Dress & Stuff
Hey! So I can't remember everything I've posted and once again I don't have the time to go read my old posts... So anyway I am making this wedding dress and just got the last measurement I needed this morning. I found out yesterday that the woman is 7" bigger than the biggest pattern size and then I found out last night that the wedding is in three weeks (eek!). I need to ask more questions before I say yes, huh? Well this morning I went to the church building to cut the pattern out. I altered it big-time and cut out everything but the sleeves (didn't have her arm measurement yet) and the facings (I was ready to go and I can manage that much on my floor).
While I was there a girl came by to get the key to Marine's house. I don't know if I blogged that Marine is in the hospital. Harp went over to his house Saturday after men's group to check on him with some guys and he had had a stroke. He is still in the hospital and he gave Casy a list of things to get from his house. Jeff had the key so I called him and he met Casy at Marine's house, which is really close to the church so Casy and I just talked for a while until she had to go. She is really nice and she has a 2-year-old girl, Mia. Coolness! I got her number and we are going to play sometime. =)
Well Emmy's sleepin' and Lainey is just chillin' with me, but I'm going to go play with her outside I think. It's a pretty day. Oh we went for a picnic after I cut out the dress and played at the playground before naps. =)

Lainey and Dave
Wedding Dress
Oh yeah and I am making a wedding dress for someone. Fun, huh? It's green (she doesn't want white because it's her second marriage), kind of LOTR-style.
Update
Hey! Well I have some time because I'm sitting here on "live chat" with our budget program and it's a lot more like "dead chat." Or like I'm the only one chatting... And every once in a while I get a response that doesn't seem like it's even meant for me.
Anyway so what do I blog about? Lainey is totally obsessed with shoes. She says "shoes" so cute! If she runs off, it's down the stairs to the landing, where I find her trying on her sister's shoes. =P
Lainey also says "ball" and "cheese." And she signs consistently for water and more and eat. =) I think we're through everything edible being milk. =)
So I got Harp yarn to make him a sweater when we went to that store in Andover. He wanted all charcoal but they only had 10 skeins and I needed 18. So we got half charcoal and half black. But then later he decided he didn't really want it to be striped after all. So we looked all over for more yarn but it's been out of production since 2005. I found charcoal on ONE website, at a store in New York. I called and they only had 10 skeins of it. I got 8 of them because I already had 10. I got them the other day and would you believe it is the same dye lot as the yarn I bought here? Crazy cool!
A couple weeks ago, I started smelling this funk in the kids' toy basket that I have in the living room. I could not figure out what it was. I even had Harp come smell it and make sure it wasn't my imagination. Well I dug around and didn't find anything. Then a week or so ago, Laina brought me the gallon bag of finger puppets we had in there. I said "sure I'll play finger puppets with you!" and as I took the bag, I smelled it. I opened the bag and POOF! Oh, it stunk so bad!! I dumped it out and there was a nasty, moldy, wretched-smelling piece of broccoli in the bag. Eeeew! I put all the puppets in my asparagus pot (has a mesh wire thing to steam with) and put baking soda in the bottom. They still stink after days in the pot. =(
What makes this story hilarious is that Harp's mom found some cauliflower in his drawer when he was little. Not that little, though, lol. =)
Em told me she was sleeping and Jonah brought her some eggs and put them by her bed. This is the first dream she's told me about that I think she really had. So cute!
My friend Chris called me from Russia the other day (Wed) and we had a really good, long conversation about life and faith. We were like best friends in high school and we used to stay up late having these "philosophical" conversations about the meaninglessness of life... lol Now he's calling me saying he knows he's alive for a reason and he wants the faith I have too and he is seeking God. I miss him. Pray for him, 'kay?
Well this live chat thing is still crazy-dead. I am ready to tell them to just not even worry about fixing my problem. For some reason, things are coming in in multiple accounts. I can just delete the ones that are wrong and update. But it's the second time it's happened (but for different accounts) so I was hoping they could fix it so it wouldn't happen again. Now I have to wait 2-4 days to update so they can look at it. Oh well. =\

Parking Meter Prayer
Okay so the other week when we went to Wichita to get some machine knitting books, we were getting on the highway by our house when we remembered that there are parking meters at that library and we have only 5 cents. It would have taken a while to turn around because of where we were and we considered it but then decided not to and to just head to the library. I prayed a silent prayer that God would give us a parking meter with an hour on it.
So we get there and try to find a place that isn't expired. We don't find anything. Harp says well let's just go in and get the books. I told him I wasn't desperate enough for machine knitting books to risk getting a serious parking ticket. He wasn't unkind or anything but I could tell he was a little annoyed that we drove all the way to Wichita and I didn't want to go in and get the books that badly. So he asked what I suggested and I said well we could go to the bank, get money at the ATM, come back and I could run in and get change in the library, then go park and go in (hey, I don't like tickets, okay?). He said okay and we started to drive out. At that time, I remembered my prayer and was thinking okay well God must have a good reason then that we didn't just find a spot.
Then we saw a parking meter that wasn't expired. I hopped out to see how much time was on it and it was one hour and one minute! I had to laugh. God said "Hey, look, I did it!" And I said "Hey, look, you did do it! And you even gave us an extra minute!" He said "Yep!" =P
Coolness #1: If we hadn't gone through the whole thing not finding a spot and trying to decide what to do, I might not have even remembered that I asked for a spot (yeah I have Mommy brain, or at least that's the best excuse I have ;) )
Coolness #2: God is just way too funny. I love how he cares about "silly" things and talks to us about parking meters and gives us more than what we ask for.
I don't know why I don't post about stuff like this more often, but I really felt like I was supposed to post about this, so there 'ya go. =) And I have a few more cool things to share but right now, no time. =) But soon, I hope!

Girls & Kites & Whatnot
Flip Book
Okay I finished the sample album today for the class. I totally didn't like these papers when Karen showed them to me. She gave me the option of using whatever I wanted, but I know she wanted me to use these because they weren't selling well and she said if you use paper for a sample or class, it starts to sell and she'd like to get it moving. But I ended up really liking the album even though I wasn't a huge fan of the paper. I think it looks cute with the sepia pictures. The title is cut out of chipboard and I like it except that I wanted to put brads around the a for hyphens. Karen wasn't keen on it but then after I finished it she decided she did like that idea, so we might do it for the class, but not change the sample. I took the pictures with some of the papers I used for the background and bottom. Nifty, huh? Okay on to other stuff... =)

Pray for Emmy
If you read this, please pray for my girlie-O. This morning she wasn't into Sunday School and didn't even want to go be with the big kids and she felt a little warm after church. We came home and she threw up (a bunch of water is all). She seemed all better after her nap. No temp and acting totally normal. All the way until bed. I forgot to wake Laina up at 10 and she woke me up at 12:30 so I got her and when I put her back, I got a kiss from Emmy (always do) and she felt SO warm. I took her temp and it's 103.8! She feels fine and she wants her blanket on and we just spent 15-20 min in her bed together talking about turtles and Sunday School while Harp looked stuff up on the internet... Then she asked me to get out of her bed so she could sleep some more. =P We're going to go see if it's down after some Tylenol. Anyway please pray for Chick!

EXCEL Scrapbook & Craft Night
Now that Lauren is off to Dallas and has no internet access I can blog that I am making her a scrapbook for EXCEL. =) It's almost done. I made most of it last night at craft night (and also crocheted a turtle and worked on some of my own scrapbook pages).

Oh last night the girls went to craft night with me because Harp was at Aaron's birthday party. Em had a fun time painting with Miss Donna. She does watercolor and has her paintings in a gallery in Wichita. Donna is going to be Em's Sunday School teacher tomorrow so Em is really excited. =)

What's Kickin'?
They are remodeling our Walmart, which means everything is exactly where you least expect it to be. Shoes are in crafts, crafts is in the almost-outside garden center, electronics is in shoes... I hope they're printing the pictures I sent, come to think of it...
Anyway so today we went and looked at the crafts section. All the fabric is gone and they have a bad, bad selection of thread - bummer. But then I found tons of these iron-on rhinestone things that I had never seen before, all for pregnancy shirts. Body by Baby, Eating for Two, some others I don't remember, and What's Kickin'? I loved the What's Kickin'? one! And I have been wanting to try the freezer paper stencil thing that Jen or Jaime linked to like a year ago. And I got a plain black maternity shirt at Hickman's garage sale to freezer paper stencil something onto someday. So it all worked out AND Harper even thought it was so cool that we did it together tonight. How awesome is that? I only had to cut out Kickin'? And he did the What's. =) So here's the pic:

Gone
Gone, like Frank Sinatra, like Elvis and his mom, like Al Pacino's cash, nothing lasts in this life.... The 4Runner is gone. =) (And that's a Switchfoot song, if you're really lost.)
Scrappin' Time
Em and I went to the scrapbook store today and cut out everything we needed for the sample album. We had gone by last night to talk to Karen and show her Em's album again and she said just come make the sample and we scheduled it for October 20. So I still need pics and ribbon but then it will be quick to finish up. Pics have been sent to Walmart and Karen went to Hobby Lobby for ribbon today so hopefully she got something I like. =P
Em was a super-good girl this morning, helping me use the Sizzix to cut the chipboard and papers. =) We were there a little over 2 hours, I think. Lainey was asleep the whole time at home and Harp was mowing. So cool! I can do this and not miss a second of time with my family. =) And actually have a whole lot of fun with Emmy, too. She loves to scrapbook. The class is going to be during the girls' nap that day and I know Harp will be glad to have a couple of hours to play this Wii game (Metriod) he got today. =P
Someone came to drive the 4Runner tonight and they made an offer of $1800. Harp has it coming out in the classifieds at work on Wednesday for $2250 so he thought about waiting until then but he called back and told them if they will do $1900 he'll sell it tonight. I guess he was really only expecting $1500 to begin with, so that's still good. Blue Book is like $1700 but it has a newly-rebuilt transmission so he was trying to get more. Anyway... =)
Hey I never blogged that Em started saying Zacchaeus the next day, lol. She's funny.
Okay I'm gonna go do something with H-Bot. Later!

Dentist & Other Things
We just got home from the dentist. I went for a cleaning and I took Emmy with me while Harp stayed home with (napping) Laina. Em was SUCH a good girl. She sat sweetly in a chair in the room while the hygienist (Marsha) cleaned my teeth and then Marsha let her get up and look at all her tools and watch her give my teeth a bath. =P Then she asked if Emmy wanted to trade me spots and have her look at her teeth too. Em was excited and had fun riding in the chair. She did everything Marsha asked her to do and even had some of her teeth cleaned with the polisher. Then we switched back and the dentist came in and looked at my teeth and then Emmy asked if we could trade again. =P She wanted the dentist to look at her teeth, too. The dentist was so excited and thought it was the cutest thing ever, so Em got her teeth looked at again. =P The dentist said Em was so sweet she made her want to have kids. I was proud of my girlie-O. =) Marsha gave her two stickers (which she shared with me, so I had a sticker on each hand) and a toothbrush and her own flosser and the dentist gave her a toy. Oh and she got a chapstick, too. =) Also found out, checking out, that the insurance paid way more than they had expected for Harp's whatever he had done last time and they owe us $160. Nice! Oh and Em has her last two molars coming in. You can see them, but they aren't really that close, so maybe in a month or so the dentist said. =)
Yesterday I went to the Wisners' and sewed with CK and Raven. CK's shirt is finished! She did a great job. Raven still has to put the neckband on and hem the shirt but she is on her way. Mine I need to hand stitch the inside of the neckband on, but first I'm going to maybe put beads on it or something. So I'm waiting until I decide what to do. I made a tag for my shirt because it's not easy to tell which is the front and which is the back. It's cute. =P
Last night we went to the park with Jon and Aaron and flew Harp's kite. There wasn't enough wind to fly my kite and it was slow enough that I could fly Harp's without being pulled around, so that was good. =) After the wind died down and the sun started to set, the Wisners all came and we played with frisbees for a while.
Yesterday when we were at the Wisners' house, Raven was playing with Em and said something about "my girl." Em stopped and looked at her kind of dumbfounded and said "I'm Daddy's girl." =)
Lainey had a rough time teething earlier this week. We (Lainey and I) had a few nights with very little sleep. She was completely, totally miserable. Em never had such a rough time. Lainey would cry if I even adjusted her on my hip. If I put her down, she would just cry in a heap on the floor and not move. =( It was really sad! Her tummy hurt too and I think it might have been a bunch of corn she ate that didn't get digested because she was fine after it came out. Anyway it was all pretty sad.
Wednesday we went swimming in Wichita at Mrs. Betty's house. She goes to chapel with Emily and Whitney and she's a widow that taught swim lessons her whole life and has a huge pool in her back yard. Her back yard pretty much is just the pool. =P We had a really fun time. Emmy went off the diving board three times and had so much fun. She still doesn't want to go under (she jumped off with a floatie so her face got wet but she didn't go under), but she watched Caleb do it a lot so maybe next time she'll be up for it. =P We'll see.
The other night when LJ was up a bunch, she started crying and I asked Harp what time it was. He said 22. I said huh? He said "22 bucks." lol Too funny. He didn't remember the next day what was 22 bucks. =P
This morning I was doing Emmy's toenails and I had her put her foot on a piece of paper. Lainey came up and sat down with us and put her foot on the paper, too. =) So she has pink toenails too. Then Em wanted her hands done so I did them and Lainey wanted her hands done but she only tolerated that for one hand and a thumb. =P She is so big!

Kid Stuff =) & Update
Lainey likes to stick her hand in her shirt. =) She also likes to play with my can of tomato paste. I always have an extra one just for her. I guess it's 'cause it's just her size. =) Lainey still helps me unload silverware from the dishwasher, but now she wants to put it in the drawer herself. I have to lift her up for her to reach, but she smiles so big doing it "herself." Lainey waves and says hi to everyone she sees. =P She said "Jed" yesterday after she waved to Jed and I asked her if she could say Jed. =P
Emily's favorite phrase is "Speaking of which..." Only it usually doesn't make sense. Like I'm talking about her going potty or something and she says "Speaking of which, it's hot in here." =P She also says "So..." a lot and then finishes. Like "So...Is Daddy having a good day at work?"
Night before last, Em and I were praying with Lainey before bed and Em prayed "God, thank you for our soft beds and give us good dreams in our soft beds." I told her she made God smile. Then she wanted to pray more and she prayed "God, my tongue is purple because I was eating some blueberries!" I told her "I think you made God laugh!" We both laughed and then Harp came in and Em said "I made God yaff, Daddy!" =P
Emily says "BEEEEEP!" anytime a timer goes off (including the microwave). When we wash stuff in the sink and make it bubbly, Em always makes a "bubble goat" (goatee) like Daddy's. The girls have these plastic lip noise makers they got at VBS and they are some of their favorite toys. We call them the lip toys and Em says it "yip-toy." Emily can hardly handle herself when I fold socks. She desperately wants to "pop" the socks.
Well I don't even remember what I blogged last. The girls' Bible study is starting again a week from Wednesday and I'm really excited. I don't have the books yet, but I ordered them 8 days ago so they should get here in time. I'm not giving them to the girls because there are some chapters that probably aren't appropriate, so we're just basing the study off the chapters that are. It's going to be a worldview study that Brannon Howse put together for his kids.
Speaking of which, =) Worldview Weekend is going to be here for free (it was going to be a conference that wasn't free until a couple days ago) and Brannon Howse and Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis) are going to be speaking. I think there are more speakers too but I am excited for Ken Ham. I saw that Candace Cameron was a part of it, but I don't know if she will be in Wichita. I just watched her testimony on DVD and it made me cry. She was DJ on Full House, if the name sounds familiar. =)
Anyway hmm well I sewed with CK and Raven again and they are doing a great job. I had them sew down the lines on a sheet of notebook paper and it really helped them get the hang of sewing straight.
I have only made one sleeve for my sweater and I still need to rip out the hoodie. I just haven't had time to work on it.
We finished my kite Saturday and tried to fly it yesterday, but we got to the park and had forgotten the kites, then Harp got them and came back and we didn't have the bars (to fly them), so Harp went back and got them and by that time it was WAY after girls' bedtimes and Lainey wouldn't fall asleep because some kids were hanging out with us and just kept bugging her (trying to help, but not helping, ya know?) and we went home so the girls could sleep. Then after naps we went back to the park but there wasn't enough wind anymore. Bummer! Maybe tonight.
I am still not into the swing of cooking after having family here (yeah I know it's been what two weeks?) so today I decided to get some help from Rachael Ray. =P That always works to get me cookin' again. I did the weekly menu plan for September, minus one day (shrimp and chickpea something or other) and added two fish dishes.
Speaking of which, =) Harp went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and found out his good cholesterol is low (30). The doctor said he needs to eat more fish, drink alcohol, and exercise. So we're doing at least two fish meals a week and, well, I don't know if the exercising will happen but I would love to exercise more too. We still go for a walk every morning that Harp's at work unless we get moving too late and it's hot out. Or if it's raining... I feel better when I walk.
Okay I'm gonna make another sleeve. Ohp, no I guess I'm gonna get a baby up. =P

Funny Words & Bleeding
This morning, Em asked Harp something about going to "the place with all the little tiny kids" and then remembered what it was - "Smuggles." lol Isn't that so cute? =P
Emily keeps singing the Zacchaeus song and talking about him, but she calls him Zappaeus. I tried to tell her it was Zacchaeus, but she was sure she was saying it right. =P Tomorrow she will probably say it right. =) She's funny.
Emily says upside down like "upsa town." I have to remember to get that on video before it's gone. =)
When the nurse drew Lainey's blood today, she did a finger prick. I told Laina & signed that it was going to be ow. She looked at me like really? But then she did fine and didn't even flinch. Emily asked why the nurse "cut Lainey's finger off." She was kind of concerned about the whole thing, but mostly interested in what was going on.
We went to lunch with Jeff (our pastor) and Harper after the appointment. Jeff and Harp and Scott (who is deployed right now) have lunch together every Thursday. Oh and we went to the big library in Wichita after Harp got home from work. I was looking for machine knitting books but they were all icky patterns from the 80's (even the hand knitting books were). The library here has much better knitting books. =P
Okay I am going to bed. Night!

China
They sure are earning themselves a bad reputation. Read this. There are people on her list on the next page who had reactions a year ago, too, although not that bad. I wonder if my thing could have been a chemical and not fungus? Here's my old post.
Cutie Baby Pie
Today we went for Laina's one-year checkup. She's 20 pounds and 30 inches long. They did a hemoglobin test and it was good. I'm glad bc I went against his advice and didn't give her iron-fortified cereal. I don't remember if I posted about that but LLL read me a study (with lots of details that I don't remember, sorry) that showed kids that ate iron-fortified cereal actually had lower hemoglobin levels. So I went with the study and not with the doc. He's cool though and if I told him he probably wouldn't wig out about it anyway. He asked if I was nursing still and I said yeah and he said that's great, that people in other countries nurse their kids for years and he doesn't know why we don't in America. Anyway he said Lainey is great and really advanced, so that's fun to hear. She was pretending to feed me something off her shoe and he was impressed, lol. She cracks me up.
Lainey has the funniest sense of humor. Last night, she ran to Em's bed before Em got in and climbed up and put her head on Em's pillow, like she was just going to sleep in her bed. She started cracking up and Em got in bed too and they both just laughed and laughed. We thought it was funny and tonight Lainey did it again even though Em was already in her bed. They are so cute together.
Tonight we canned some jelly and I burned my finger. I was sitting on the couch trying not to cry about it (it really really hurt) and holding ice on it which hurt almost as bad as it burned without the ice... And Lainey came up and started whapping me (lightly & playfully, not hitting me) with the fly swatter. We both just totally cracked up. She thought it was hilarious. I love her laugh.
Oh Lainey has 6 teeth now and at least one more close to coming in. The 5th one I didn't even notice until it came out on Sunday. Harp saw it and said something about "The new and improved Laina, with 25% more bite!" It cracked me up. =P My family is too funny. Another one came through today. She has the 4 in the middle and one bottom one and one top one on opposite sides. =P Cutie!
Okay I'm gonna load pics onto the computer and then go to bed. Later!

Fun Day
Hey! Well today Emily and her kids came over to play. We had a really fun time catching up. We hadn't seen each other since before they went to family camp and that was a month ago!
After that, we ate a quick lunch and went to the Wisners' house. Em had a nap in Raven's bed and was really excited about that. =P Lainey is used to going to sleep at their house now and she was glad to see the Pack N Play in Nellie's room. =P CK and Raven and I sewed all afternoon.
We came home when Harp did and had dinner and then went to Puggles. It's the 2-year-old Awana club. We stayed for it and we haven't decided if we're going back. The only reason to keep going is just for Em to have fun with other kids, but really we have plenty of kid friends to have fun with when we can all be together as a family. The whole lesson today was about 5 minutes and it was God made the sky and the sky is blue. Cool and all, but Em knows that and she has for like a year? We teach her more than that on any given day. Most of the time was just spent playing with blocks, kitchen toys, coloring... So yeah we're thinking about whether or not we're going back. And whether or not we're asking for the $24 registration fee back... =\
Okay I need to go help Harp find a DVD... Later!

Growin' Girls
Laina is so big! On Sunday morning, she started tickling Emily. It was adorable. =) Last night as we were leaving Grammie's house, Raven was buckling Em in her car seat and Lainey thought it was hilarious that Raven was doing it. She just couldn't stop laughing. =P Lainey keeps trying to say everything! Today she pointed to her belt and said belt!
Sunday we went to small group, came home at 10, and then stayed up until 1:30. We played video games together, which we haven't done in a long long time and which Harp really wanted to do. =) I had fun because they were Tetris games and I like those. =) I knit the hoodie part of my sweater that night too.
Monday we spent the morning updating the budget and then hanging out. We started using this web-based program, Mvelopes. It's what they try to sell on Larry Burkett's site. We downloaded the trial of the computer program (don't remember what it's called but the one Dave and Dana use) a few months ago and I don't remember why we didn't use that but there was a reason we opted for the web thing. It's kind of a ripoff that you pay monthly for it, but you can access it on vacation, Harp can update stuff from work, and it was a whole lot easier to use. I think the thing with the computer one was that you couldn't automatically fund envelopes each paycheck. Was that it? I don't know. Anyway we like Mvelopes and if you wanna try it, tell me because we'll get a month free if someone signs up. =) Oh I remember what it was. The computer one didn't download data from our bank and we had to do it in a long, roundabout way. So if it works with your bank it might be better.
Anyway! So then Monday afternoon we went to Grammie's. She's our pastor's mom. We had lunch and dinner there and played games (Settlers of Catan) with lots of Wisners and some of the Brooks kids. It was fun.
Today we went to the yarn store and grabbed some more colors for Harp's sweater. He wants Nintendo things in it. =P Like mushrooms and whatnot in the band I think. And a hat with the star on it. My sweater is coming along. I made a back that matched the girls' sweater but with the heavier yarn (worsted, but it's heavier than the girls') it made me look like a frilly noodle. So I ripped it out and I have a new back, the front, and the hoodie done and sewn together. I am considering ripping out the hoodie though because I don't like that it distorts the top stripe in the sweater. There's kind of no way around that though unless I made a different hoodie that doesn't meet in the middle and then it would most likely distort the stripe on the sides there anyway.
Okay gotta go make dinner. Later!
