Missin' People

Jo, what school are you thinking about going to? I wanna hear all about it. =)

Today I started capturing video of Nate and Anna's wedding. We had some serious computer issues, so I don't think we actually accomplished anything. But I saw some of the video from the rehearsal of Anna (Reynolds, hehe) and Patti and Sarah Jo and some other people and I got all teary.

Today we went and got Harp a suit. He looks so good. =) And it was fun to have an excuse to spend money. Why do I like to spend money? Hmm.

Well, we're having fun in Pueblo with my parents. I scrapbooked some today. I tried to get my mom to scrapbook with me, but I don't think she really wanted to because she didn't work on it at all and then she didn't join me after we got back from getting Harp's suit. I didn't want to bug her, though, so I just did it alone. I don't mind. It just would have been fun to do together.

My parents finished a room in Nana's basement that's for doing glass. She got 3 kilns and has her business up an' runnin'.

So I guess that's all our news. Oh, and Emily's cute! =)

What I Did

I forgot to feed Emily last night! lol The last time I fed her yesterday was around 4:00. I woke up at 7:30 this morning about to explode milk all over the place and had to go wake her up and feed her. She didn't even act hungry. How could I forget to feed my baby?!

What Am I?

I got this thing in the mail for the CU Alumni Directory, to update my info and give them a bunch of info about Harp, Em, & such... Probably just so they can spam me and try to get Em to be a buffalo someday. =P So anyway part of it asks you to enter your job code and there is a list of jobs on the back. #814 is "Homemaking/Domestic Engineer" Totally cracked me up. I'm a Domestic Engineer.

Interview!!

Score!! =) So I posted about Harper's call from Spirit AeroSystems. Well then y'all probably noticed that Anna mentioned a job at Cessna. Harp sent his resume to Nate today, he passed it on, and Cessna called. They didn't ask him any questions, just set up an interview. They are flying him to Wichita on Oct 6, he'll interview on the 7th, and then fly home.

So that does mean that our Longview trip won't go as planned. But we will visit sometime soon for sure!

Harp talked to Nate tonight and he is SO excited about this job. Pray that he gets it as long as it's not against God's will because it sounds so awesome. Pay isn't as high as around here, but the job is cool and benefits are mucho bueno. And Anna and I can get pregnant together!!!! Ooooh!!! =) =) =) =) Babies!!!! Here are some more pics of mine. =)

Retreat

I'm back! I missed my hubby SO much. What would I do without him?

Em and I had a good time and GREAT food. I found out Emily hates kiwi with a passion. I had to scrape it out of her mouth because she was totally going to throw up. She tried lots of other foods that she didn't like, but nothing else puke-worthy.

Em was really good, even though she hardly got a nap... She was very sweet and happy. =) Thanks for praying!

I ate more junk than you can imagine this weekend. They had pink M&M candies in bowls all over the place, candy on the bed, cookie jars in the rooms, dessert at every meal, little gift bags (bandanas, actually) full of candy when we got there...

It was pretty, but very, very beetle-killed. Basically every single tree back there is infected (and probably more than half around here). Most back there are already dead. Apparantly, there was a patch of forest infected 6 years ago and they wanted to cut the trees down and burn the area, but the Sierra Club freaked out and said no... So now pretty much the whole county is full of dead or dying trees (2-3 trees around a dead beetle-killed tree are apparantly already past help). So the first time lightning strikes, the whole county could be wiped out. Freaky, huh?

Glad to hear Longview didn't get wiped out! =) =)

Gonna post some pictures and call my momma.

Harper's totally sending his resume to Nate. That would be so cool if he worked for Cessna and we (Anna and I) could get pregnant at the same time!!! =) =) =)

Cute Shoes!

A while ago, Sophia gave me a copy of this felt baby shoe pattern from Martha Stewart's baby magazine. Don't remember what it's called, probably Martha Stewart Baby. =) So anyway that pattern is online at marthastewart.com and the shoes are totally cute and really easy to make out of felt.

Well, I thought they would be really cute out of the blue cordurouy Harp's mom got me to make Em's overalls. So I made an embroidery machine pattern for them that would just sew together two pieces that I could turn inside out... I don't really know how to explain it but I put flannel on the inisde of the shoe so they'll be cozy and comfy and sorta warm (yeah, it's chilly here!). They are SO cute. I'm not done stitching them together (doing that by hand), but I'll have to take a picture when they're done.

Tomorrow I'm leaving around 11:45 for the retreat, so I'll be gone until Sat night. I'm going to miss Harp so much. I've almost cried a few times and it's only for one night. But it will be such a lonely night. =( I'm sure it will be a good retreat, though. About half of the women are going horseback riding for 3 hours Sat and I am going to go if I can take Em in the snugli. If not, I am going to hang out with her doing something else. Maybe hike. I am going to miss her a bunch even though she will probably be with me for a good part of the day. Please pray that Em has a good weekend!

Harp got a computer DVD drive and rigged it up to work in his Xbox. The drive broke a few months ago and Harp's been sad ever since, lol. =P So he can finally play Xbox games again.

Today he got a call from Spirit Aerosystems (I think that's the name of it) in Wichita, Kansas. It isn't Cessna, it's Spirit something, I just don't remember if it's aerosystems. But they are some airplane company and Harp would be working on the Dreamliner, some Boeing plane. They said the hiring process has been way slow and he won't get a call until at least Monday, and maybe even the Monday after. Maybe we'll be stopping there for an interview soon! That would be cool. =) Anna, do you like Wichita? Just wonderin'... =)

Okay I'm going to go to bed!

Lovin' My Hubby

I love Harp. He's the greatest hubby ever. =)

Tonight we went to Bible Study and the Youth Group was downstairs competing in teams to see who could hold Alka-Seltzer in their mouths the longest without spitting it out (or throwing up). Isn't that so gross?? Apparantly, they recently tried to eat bananas through pantyhose. And they are having a big pillow fight tonight. Strange people, these mountain folk... =)

I made a cake today. I offered to make Harp cookies or something (whatever he wanted) and he wanted cake from a cake mix. I hope my own cakes aren't just bad. =P lol, He said he figured we might as well use it because we had it. I'll just believe him.

The other night, we took Em to the pool and she was splashing to make bubbles and then popping them with one finger. It was so cute! And she cracked up pretty much the whole time we were there. It was great!

Today we took her to a park to swing, but it was cold so we didn't stay long. She really liked it, though. Guess that's all. =)

Wet Bed, No Potty, Blanket Time & Kalamazoo

The other night, I asked Harp to get me some water. He flipped the light on, so I was hiding under the covers. He came back and wanted to give me the water and I asked him if he'd turn the light out first. He said no because I don't want to spill it all over. So I pulled the covers down and sat up and I spilled the water all over myself and my side of the bed.

So I know it is really late to be starting potty scheduling, but I tried for the first time just now to let Em pee on the potty. She HATED it. She cried and cried and cried. So I quit and didn't wait for her to pee, but she still hasn't peed anyway and it's been 20 minutes so I'm glad I didn't wait.

We're teaching her blanket time and she understands, but she still gets off the blanket. She doesn't like it at all because she likes to crawl and climb. We call her Jeep. But it's good for her to learn. Especially because I'm going to this retreat thing and it will make Sunday School easier.

Harp applied for some more jobs today and one is in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Wouldn't it be funny to live in a place called Kalamazoo?

Not In The Hole!

We just had the best time looking at our finances and figuring out exactly how broke we are. We calculated that we were $6.15 in the hole, but there is a big pile of coins on the dresser that we figure has to be a little more than that. So we actually have a few bucks!!!! =) I want to count it, lol. Good thing I sold patches to the scrapbooking store. =P I'm going to have to actually take these people up on their offer to buy hats from me. That's only 2 people, but maybe $30? So anyway we will be more broke soon because we will owe car insurance in a few days, but we are dancin' tonight because we aren't in debt. =) Well except for student loans and we don't even know who we're supposed to pay or when or anything. =) =) =)

So here are our plans: (by the way, we think the fire's out or at least not heading for us)
This weekend I'm going to a women's retreat and taking Em. We'll see how that goes. Gonna have to carpool with someone because we only have a few bucks, =) so I can't just leave if Em freaks out. It's 40 minutes away. But it's only Friday and Saturday so I think we can do it.
Then Tuesday is Jesus the One and Only, so I'll go to that. Then Wednesday, we'll go to Pueblo and hang out with my parents until Sunday.
Sunday is Mamoo's 101st birthday. She is Harp's dad's mom's mom. Grandy (Harp's dad's mom) will be there and I have actually only met her once before we got married and she's never met Em. So we'll see her and her husband, Bill. So then she and Bill are planning on going up to Greeley, so we'll head up there, too. We'll be in Greeley Sunday night, Monday, and part of Tuesday and then leave for - ooh, ooh! - Longview!!! I am SO excited!!
This is the deal: we're going to just drive down and not worry about getting in the hole and if Harp doesn't have a job (or a good prospect) within a week of getting back, he'll get some temp job up here.
So we'll get to Longview Wednesday for life group - YAY! And then stay for Melissa's wedding and church on Sunday. And we'll leave Monday and get back Tuesday so I only miss one week of Bible Study.
Well, that's plan A, anyway. The other possibility is that we stay in Greeley longer, get to Longview the day before the wedding, and stay for the next life group and head back on Thursday. It kind of depends on what Grandy and Bill are doing. Their plans aren't firm.

I am SO excited to be going to Longview and I really hope the plan doesn't change. Although I would be really really glad for Harp to get a job... =)

It's midnight!!! Every morning I'm exhausted and I tell Emily how I'm going to go to bed earlier that night... And I never do.

Oops! And I forgot to respond to comments once again. Anna, we finally dug the tapes from your wedding out of a box a few weeks ago and brought them to the mountains. I know it's pathetic that we don't have it done yet because we truly don't have much to do. I am finishing another wedding video right now (like I have been doing it for 3 days and I'll be done as soon as they tell me what music they want) and then I can get that off the computer and have room to capture your videos. Sorry it's taken so long! But I WILL do it before we go down to Pueblo, even if we end up staying here until Mamoo's birthday. 'Cause then we're going to be gone for a long time. Are you going to Melissa's wedding?

Okay I HAVE to go to bed. =P Gonna pass out. I can't wait to see everyone!!!! And see some cute bellies!!

Something Eventful!!

So maybe it's not a GOOD eventful thing, but it sure made our day a little less boring. We went in to the grocery store, came out 5 minutes later, and there was a big fire. We couldn't tell what it was because we didn't see the flames, but the smoke was yellow and black and white and looked really funky. So, like any mature adults would do, we drove toward it. We were planning on going to Sapphire Point and it was in that direction, so we figured we might as well. We ended up stopping to watch a pretty big forest fire until the smoke started coming our direction and the cops told everyone to leave. Guess they're going to block the road. We were going to go take pictures of Em and some family pictures in the pretty mountains. Instead, we took pictures of Em in front of a forest fire. =) And lots of pics of the fire. I will put some up. So anyway we are only one mountain away from this fire and it was growing big-time. So we may be going down the mountain soon. We'll keep looking out the window. We're going to take pictures of everything we own for inventory in case the condo burns down. Wouldn't that be funny after the electrical fire...

Lovin' My Girl

I love my baby girl. I feel like she doesn't know I love her today. I guess it's just that today wasn't fun at all. And I bit her. I don't know why I bit her. She kept biting me and I flicked her little cheek and told her to stop and that it hurt me (and signed it). But she kept doing it and I said if you do it again I'm going to bite you back so you know what it feels like. Well she did it again and I bit her little finger and it left a dent for a few minutes. Or seconds, I guess. It wasn't long, but it was still a dent. =( She cried and cried like I totally betrayed her, which I guess I pretty much did. And then my poor girl dove off a seat and then later off a chair and she fell over and bonked her head on the ground, which didn't hurt but scared her a bunch. She was totally exhausted for most of the day. I don't know what's with her, but yesterday she woke up at 6am! I decided to go ahead and get her up because she didn't eat a ton the night before. So that was a little weird and I got her up again at 9 and took her to a baby shower and she was up a long time. This morning she got up at 6 again and I heard her cry a few times, but I don't even know if she was awake or asleep until I got her at 7:20. Usually she gets up between 7:30 and 8:00. So that wasn't normal and she didn't take more than 1-hour naps today. Only 2 of them, I think. She woke up happy and everything, so I went ahead and got her, but then she got tired and we went to a laundromat to do laundry and it took forever and she got SO tired and that's when she hopped off the seat of the car (just bonked on the dash a little - she was in my lap) and then we got home and she hopped out of my lap off the rocking chair while I was getting her milk ready. I caught her but had to set her down because I couldn't pull her up. Her walker was right there and she was sort of stuck between the rocker and the chair. And TOTALLY exhausted. She cried and cried and cried. I want to go get her out of bed and snuggle her and tell her I love her so so so much. I told her that while I nursed her before bed, but she was so tired, she wasn't nice. I can't wait to play with her tomorrow.

Well I guess I haven't posted in a long time. The Bible study this week was pretty good, but I don't like a lot of the stuff in the study. Most of it is good, but a lot of it is speculation and, while she acknowledges that, it's just annoying to me. I don't have a girly imagination, I guess. I met a girl there that lives in these condos, though, so that's neat. She has been married 2.5 years and doesn't have kids yet. I'm workin' on her. =) No, really, though, she said she is working up the courage to get pregnant. Or something like that. I didn't ask. I'll let her see lots of Emily and then she'll want babies.

I don't know if I ever posted about the girl that lived across the street. I went over and just knocked on her door one day and we went to the hot tub together the next day during Em's nap. Her son, Caedmon is 14 months and he went hot tubbing with us. They came over, I think, on Wednesday. I don't remember. Emily had fun with Caedmon, but he wasn't all that interested in her. They moved to Steamboat Springs yesterday, so we're back to not having baby-friends. At the baby shower, there were some twins born 4 days after Em and they were all cute playing together. Shoulda found out how to get in touch with the mom.

I don't like All-Abouts, the Girl Scout cookies. They aren't great and you just eat them because they're there.

Last night, Harp and I had a date! We watched The Incredibles and then rubbed each other's feet with exfoliating foot scrub. =) It was fun.

I don't remember if I said that Emily hasn't gained weight in 2 months. Weird, no? But I only weighed 19 pounds at 1 year and 24 at 2 years. I was 1 pound lighter than Em from birth up until 6 months. I don't know about since then, but if Em's only going to be 20 pounds in 3.5 months, I guess it's no biggie that she only weighs 18 still.

She let go of the coffee table and stood by herself for a few seconds yesterday. I was super-cute! She's getting big, big!

Daddy Coming To Spoil The Fun!

I Like Your Money

I Have Your Money

My Cutie!

Happy Birthday

Our Weekend

Well, Trane didn't call at all last week and Adam Aircraft sent a letter of rejection. I'm really glad about Adam Aircraft because I didn't want to lose my hubby for 24 hours at a time and have him tired 100% of the time he was at home. Don't know what to think about Trane because they said they would call, not might call.

Anyway none of it really matters right now because we are all sick. We were all sick pretty much all week except that we all felt better yesterday and today we're all sick again. It's not much fun but we listened to Otto's message about surrendering your right to be healthy (among other things) when we started getting sick and I haven't really cared that I'm sick. Except that I'm really heartbroken that we missed Sunday School today. Church we can get a CD of. I don't think we can get a CD of Sunday School and it was the 2nd week of a study on Daniel and I really really really really really was excited about. I considered going, setting the computer up to record, and hiding in the back so I wouldn't get people sick. But I would probably get people sick anyway, cough the whole time and disrupt everything, and chances are good the recording wouldn't work because I've never done it myself before.

So our weekend. Harp's dad and brother came up Friday and golfed. We went to dinner and then Harp's mom came up around 10 or 11. Then yesterday Harp and his dad and brother went golfing. They golfed 27 holes with no sunscreen and Harper looks like a lobster. Terrie, Em, and I went to Westminster and I got paid 50 bucks to do a music market survey for a Christian radio station in Denver. It was at the Doubletree, so we got those awesome cookies! I need to find that recipe on some site like topsecretrecipes.com. I think that's the site. Well Terrie watched Em in the lobby and then we went to Boulder to see Jeremy, but he wasn't around. So we went back to Westminster to this really cool, really ghetto, but really cheap fabric store. I got some fabric to make Em a jacket and pants but when I got home, it turned out to be twice the amount it said (it's all precut), so I might make us matching jackets instead. And I got her flannel for jammies and corduroy for overalls. I still have a shirt and jacket and pajamas to make her before I start any of that, though. So then we came back and we all went to dinner and Harp's parents went home. Oh, Quin went home part way through golf because he had to work.

What ended up happening with Quin's house is the people from Lowry Air Force Base couldn't go for some reason... Doing background checks and stuff. And someone Terrie knew had family that lost everything and was on their way driving to Lowry Air Force Base (this is near Denver). So they decided to skip the whole registering/background-checking/time-wasting ordeal at Lowry and go straight to Quin's house. I don't know exactly who is who, but his house can be split into two apartments (there's a kitchen & bathroom on each floor and doors to the outside). So I really only know about one family right now, but they have a 3-year-old and the wife is 4 months pregnant. Don't know if it's a girl or a boy, but I'm excited to find out and make baby clothes. They lost everything in the hurricane.

Well, I'm going to go work on Em's clothes. =) Say hi to me and Happy Birthday to Lauren Bourcier! =)

Otto Koening Tapes & Stuff

If you haven't listened to The Pineapple Stories, they are really good. We have been listening to them this week. So much better than TV. =)

Maybe my post always was there. =) The time is an hour off on all the pictures. Oops. =)

Still haven't heard from Trane or Adam Aircraft. Oh well. =)

Harper's mom isn't coming up this weekend now because she's going to pick up some people that were affected by Katrina. Don't know where they are or any of the details, but they are going to live at Quin's old house. Quin moved out because there were gangsters living next door that would paint his truck and vandalize stuff and he yelled at them or something like that and then was afraid they'd try to kill him.

Gonna sew a little 'cause I can't all weekend. =)

Harp's Belly - When we got to the hospital, we measured my belly and Harp made his the same size. =)
