Small Adorable People

I have been collecting cute things on the whiteboard and it is time to erase it all. =) So here goes...

Titus turned 1 last month. I can't believe he is 13 months already. He has started signing 'more' and is starting to use that more often when he wants food instead of the blanket 'milk' which means anything from milk to water to strawberries to chocolate. It just meant "put something in my mouth!" =) The other night, Harper opened the fridge and Titus came running into the kitchen excitedly signing 'more.' =) We had just finished dinner. He likes to eat. =P He has started saying strawberry and it is babewwy. His favorite foods are strawberries and bananas. Oh and rice Chex cereal. He wanted some and I got the box down and he got excited. I said "Oh, are these good?" and he did this little stiff hop and said "Mmmm!!!" =) He likes to tell me his food is "mmm!" =) He was excited when we started getting gardening catalogs to see the pictures of strawberries. He would point to them and feel them like they were supposed to be real. =) Today the girls got some hanging strawberry kits and Ti really likes the berries on the box.

My parents were here the week after his birthday and we went to a chocolate shop. Titus got a taste of chocolate and started wiggling and signing 'milk' with both hands. =P

Ti still likes balloons. He got some for his birthday and the last few times we've been to Walmart they have had them all over because of their clearance stuff. He points to them and says "bbboon, bbboon!" And he said "tars, bbboon!" when he saw the star balloons. So today we went to Dollar Tree and got him another balloon. =) He was so cute with his birthday balloons. He would get up from his nap and immediately ask for his balloon and we'd go look for it and he would be so happy to find it. He carried it around all over the place. Sometimes he would lose it and come and tell me "bboon" with this look like I don't know where it is. So we would go search for it together and he thought it was so much fun. =)

Titus has a word for banana, but I haven't figured out exactly what it is yet. But he is trying to say it. He also tries to say truck. He goes "ttt...kkk."

Titus likes to see the cars drive by on the road behind our house. He'll come to us in the kitchen and point up at the window above the sink and we'll pick him up to look at the cars. He says "daiya!" all the time when he looks outside. Not sure what that is yet. =) Sometimes cars are "tars," too.

Titus loves to dance and if he has a toy in his hands when the music comes on, he drops it on the floor and puts one or two hands in the air. He bounces and spins. So cute!

Bekah... She is funny stuff. She put on this cow suit and her hair was sticking out the hoodie. She came to me and said "Can you tuck my hair in so I don't look like a person in a cow suit?" Hahaha!!

Around Ti's birthday, I took her earrings out to clean them and put them back in. She said "Why did you do that?! Because my ears might roll up into balls!" I started laughing and said "Why do you think that? How would they roll up into balls?" She said "I don't know, I just know they would. Daddy said." I cracked up. Apparently he told her that if she didn't leave earrings in her ears, the holes would close up. And she imagined her ear holes closing up - her ears rolling up into balls. Haha! I asked her if that is what she thought and she said yeah. =P Hehe!

The other day we were looking out the front yard at our enormous tree and Bekah said "Can we cut down that tree and put in a banana tree? So we can have pet monkeys? I want to have pet monkeys." =P

We were listening to a song that said "Every good gift is from above" and Bekah thought it said "Every good gift is from a frog." She asked my why every good gift was from a frog. =P

I don't know if that is what gave her this idea, but at dinner one night she said "This is as tasty as frog meat!" as a compliment.

Tonight I put Lainey's hair in these gold curlers and Bekah told her she looked so beautiful with those gold things in her hair. =P Then I put Bekah's hair in "curlers" but I used strips of pantyhose and tied them because they are softer to sleep on anyway and I didn't have that many gold ones. She asked me if she looked beautiful in her curlers, too. lol =) I said she did. You've gotta be one pretty girl to look beautiful with pantyhose tied all over your head, but she pulls it off nicely. =P Hehe.

Lainey... The kids found a snake in the yard last week and named it Stripes. Lainey was going to catch it and keep it in the butterfly house, but it went back into the grass and got lost. She cried and cried. Harper said something about how she cares so much about the little creatures she finds and I told him no she really doesn't because if you found another snake and named it Stripes, she would be all giddy and not care a bit about the first snake. (This was demonstrated last year with a multitude of roly-polys named Elizabeth.) So he grabbed a grey crayon and a potato and drew a face on it and told Lainey it was a snake named Stripes. Yep. You don't even have to find another snake. You only have to represent another snake. lol She put Stripes in the butterfly house and played with it and carried it around and treated it like her pet. The next day, Emily was like "Lainey, you know that is a potato right?" Lainey said "I'm not listening to you." LOL Not in a mean way, just like an I'm trying to focus on the fact that this is a snake and I'm not going to let you ruin my little world kind of way. =)

Catching Up On Cuteness

Titus has started dancing. It is soooo cute. He stomps his feet or spins in circles or waves his hands in the air. =P Or a combination.

Emily bought Titus a Mylar heart balloon the day before Valentine's Day and he really really likes it. =) He carries it around and sometimes he plays with it like a punching bag. On Saturday he started saying "balloon!"

Sunday I was talking to Raven and Titus waved at her and said "Hi!" He did it again later to a couple of other people. He has started repeating words really well. Today he said "puffs" - he is a huge fan of puffs. =) If I am holding him in the kitchen, he points to the basket above the fridge, where the puffs are. =) And I love how he wiggles with excitement when I get them down and open them. And he said "turtle" when he saw the turtle that holds the bathtub toys.

He also started signing "milk" for real. I was never sure before if he really meant it, but now he does it really well and I know he means it. =P Sometimes he signs it when he wants water, too. Sometimes when he is nursing he will just look at me and sign milk and then smile when I say "Yep, you're having some milk!" He will do it over and over. I guess he likes that I understand him. =P

The other day, Lainey laughed and said "There's no such thing as egg NOG!" Then she just totally cracked up. Harper said "Laine, you're fun to watch laugh... Emily, you're fun to watch laugh, too..." and then he mimicked the famous Emily laugh where she chokes. lol So we were all laughing and Bekah said "That's funnier than jokes!" lol!

Bekah likes to make coffee with me and she calls the frother a "throther" and asks if she can "throth" the milk. =)

The other day, Bekah said "My head fore hurts... I mean... My forehead?"

We were painting some blocks black to put pictures on for the Valentine Dinner and Bekah said "The whiskers on paint brushes...are they all black?"

The kids were cleaning up scrapbook paper last week and they got to a point where it was just putting little pieces in the trash. Bekah said "All the paper should be put to death!"

The other night at dinner, Bekah said she was cold and asked for a blanket. I took off my sweater and gave it to her and she said "Thanks. Do you even want this dirty?" =)

I was snuggling Bek on the couch and she said "Mommy! You have some wrinkles!!" I said "Oh yeah? I guess I'm getting old." She said "No. You're getting UN-old!" =)

Bekah says "oof" when she picks up something heavy or can't do something. =)

Bekah was playing with one of the brain teaser puzzles that Emily bought and she thought she was solving it, but it really just wasn't put together correctly. She handed it to Harper and he fixed it and gave it back. She tried it again and couldn't do it and started to cry and said "I just think you're...not a very good one [dad]...because...you made me cry." I'm not sure what she had said before that, so that we knew she was calling him a not very good dad, but it was what she meant. lol

A few weeks ago the girls were talking about Finding Nemo and Bekah said "I don't like that one...because he gets all alone with just crabs!" Haha! I thought that was cute. There are sharks and bombs and jellyfish-filled trenches and a freaky anglerfish and a whale and getting stuck in a bird's neck, etc. And the scary thing is Nemo, free at last, but alone with crabs for like 2 seconds.

Anyway the Davises were here for the weekend and the kids all had tons of fun. Emily wired up a light with a switch and she and Hannah went into a room and turned the lights out and sent each other messages in Morse code. How cute is that?

Baby Talk, Etc

When we were in Colorado, we were in the bathroom at a restaurant and there was a little girl talking in a babyish voice. Bekah told me "I don't like baby talk!" I said I don't like it when big kids talk baby talk, but I like real baby talk, like how Titus says Dadadada. She said she likes Titus baby talk, but not when big kids do baby talk. We went over to the sink to wash hands and she said "Mommy, can you uppie-a me?" lol I said "I thought you didn't like baby talk, Bekah!" She looked at me funny. I said "You asked me to uppie-a you." She still looked at me. lol I asked her if she knew that uppie-a wasn't a real word and that she just said that when she was little. She said "I never knew uppie-a wasn't a word!" lol

We were playing Burrows (aka The Gopher Game) the other night and Bekah needed to attract more gophers to her ranch and she said "How do you contract gophers?" And then announced that she had "Five-dy six complaints." Yeah she lost that game. =P

Titus says "Dad" for real now and wonders where he is in the mornings that he goes to work. He looks toward the bathroom and says "Dad?" when Harper isn't in our bedroom. Haha! =)

Yesterday Bekah said "I really like you and I really like that you are my mommy and we have a Steve!" =P I like how he is Steve sometimes, or Stevie-Poo (Harper can't stand that one). =P

Titus loves puffs and we call them his Steve-O Puffs. The other day, Harper opened a canister of antibacterial wipes and Titus went crazy (the giddy kind of crazy) thinking they were puffs. They come in the same type of canister. =P He is sooooo cute. When you have food and he wants some, he does a little hop in your arms and says "Ah!" and flaps his arms. =) He is so much fun to have.

Psych Season 6 is lame and we're done with Psych. =\ Too bad 'cause it used to be good.

Emily got a gift certificate to a puzzle company for her birthday and she spent probably half of it on her sisters. She got them each a pearl necklace kit where you get an oyster in a can and you pry it open and get the pearl out (it was sort of gross with the dead oyster in there and everything, but pretty cool anyway) and then put the pearl in this little cage pendant thing. And she got them each a color changing mug and a game that was for all of them together and she got Lainey a brain teaser puzzle. She was very sweet! Everyone was so excited waiting for that box. =P

Lainey is sewing a dog this morning out of some fabric she got for Christmas and then she is going to make it a dress. =)

Bekah's latest thing is pretending she is Robin Hood. We made a Robin Hood hat together on Saturday and she wears it alllll the time. lol She was bummed when I told her Robin Hood was a thief. But she still wants to pretend to be him and draw him (as a fox). Lainey and I made a crossbow out of paper and hemp cord and popsicle sticks. And a whole, whole lot of tape. It works really well and is a bit scary. =P They have shot pencils with it off the deck.

Harper and Emily went to a seminar Friday and Saturday that was about Israel. It was mostly a hermeneutics thing, giving historical and cultural context to a bunch of passages. But they learned a ton and Emily loved it. That makes me smile! =) I wanted to go, too, but I didn't want to keep the littles up so late. Emily is teaching me, though. =)

I'm working on a quilt for a friend's baby. I got to use some new AccuQuilt dies and it is turning out really cute! Thanks, Mom! =) And I think I am going to finally try foundation piecing after this one. My mom gave me a bunch of paper for it a while ago and I haven't tried it yet.

Okay well it's time to get back to school stuff and to drink some coffee!! =P

Heart Attack & Art

The other day, Bekah was coming up the stairs and said "Aaaaagh! I had a heart attack!!!" Emily was like what are you talking about, Bekah? She said it was a thing that poked her in the foot on the stairs. Em asked if she meant a carpet tack. "Oh! Yeah! A carpet tack!!" =) Haha!

The other night we had a family art night and painted on hardboard with acrylics. It was really fun. Bekah told a whole story on her board until it was a bunch of blobs of color. =) It was like a theatre, with a plot and everything, and things were getting painted over. =) Emily did a cool thing with stripes in the background and then black interlocking circles over it all. Lainey painted our house getting hit by lightning and on fire and all of us outside of it. =P lol

Titus walked all the way around the loop in our house today. =) He is a big walkin' man!

12.20.2012

Baby Man, etc.

Titus is growwwwwing up! He just stood up holding onto nothing and took six steps. He has been taking three or four steps at a time for the last couple of days. His first step was about a week ago when he tried to head for Bekah. =)

He has been busy cooking in his little kitchen. My friend Dawn gave the kids this little play kitchen. When she said little, I thought Littlest Pet Shop size little. But she just meant not a big play kitchen. =) It is perfectly Titus-sized. The pieces are maybe 18 inches tall. He likes to cook things on the stove, put them in the oven, and play with the faucet on the sink. =) He is adorable!!

Some other random funnies...

The kids are playing a Zelda game with Harper and it has gorgons in it. The other night, Bekah was on the potty saying "gorgonnnnnns" while she went #2. LOL

Yesterday, Harper said "Get ready to go, kids! We're going to the donut shop!" Em said "Why??" He said "To get donuts!!" She said "Really?!?!?!" =P Too funny. I guess we don't have a reputation for feeding them junk for breakfast, so that's good. lol

At dinner the other night, Bekah said "Since I don't like cucumbers, I'm going to delete them."

The other day Bekah said "What does atrocious mean?"
Me: It means bad, like awful, or horrid.
Lainey: I have to peepee atrociously!!
Me: No, not like that! =P lol

The other day in the car, Titus said "dirty odies." The girls totally cracked up and they have been asking him what odies are and why they are dirty. =)

Bekah has said some really funny things recently... As if she's not always saying funny things... =) But one day she wanted to play The Farming Game and Harp and the other girls were out. I told her we were going to wait for them to get home and play, too. She said "I really want to throw myself on the floor." LOL She didn't do it, though! What a girl! =P

A while before that, she had been playing Legos with Lainey and Lainey did something she didn't like. I think Lainey snatched a Lego from her or something. She said "You make me want to take a nap, but I don't want to have a nap." Haha!! What she meant was that she wanted to freak out at Lainey, but she knew if she was cranky and fought with her sister, she would end up having a nap.

The other day, Bekah invited Lainey to her "feeling good shop." I overheard and I was like hey can I come to your feeling good shop, too? So she said I could come. Well, I followed them into Bekah's feeling good shop (the bathroom) and she pulled out a claw (a claw for your hair) and said that what you do in the feeling good shop is get a claw put on your fingers. LOL!!! I said aaaaaaaaah, this is a BAD feeling good shop!!!!!! And I ran away. =P Hahaha. She cracks me up.

Bekah saw a water tower and said "Water fountain, water fountain!!!!! I mean... It's a water tower." =P

11.22.2012

Ti Wave!

Ohhhhh, he's so cute!!! Titus started waving today. He puts his arm up and then turns his hand like he is serving something on a platter and just holds it there. =P

We had a great Thanksgiving, with tons of food and a fun family day. Emily made apple pie today and she and Laina made peanut butter balls yesterday. I helped roll them, but they did all the mixing and coating in powdered sugar. I made kahlua cream truffles yesterday, too. Mmm!

Lainey made a banner and Em made some cute things on straws and toothpicks and she made menus. =) So much fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Growing Ti, Funny Bek

Titus started having little conversations with us the other day. We say "dah!" to each other back and forth. For like five minutes. =P Hehe! It is so much fun. Titus stood up on Friday for a good 15 seconds before he decided to dive for my plate of hummus. =) He is getting so big!

We went to a drama thing on Friday night that a bunch of people at church were in. People had been talking about "the drama" all week. As we pulled into the parking lot, Bekah said "What's...drama? ...Is it...when you act?...like a baby? Like mmwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!?" Hahaha! She has never heard the word drama other than "Okay, I'm done with the drama!"  or "You're fine. You're just being dramatic." =P

Bekah learned to ride her big girl bike a month or so ago and I forgot to blog it. She calls it her "bike with wheels," even though it's her bike with pedals. =P I mean, it has wheels, but the Like A Bike does too. =P She thought the pedals are what training wheels are. We had told her the Like A Bike was for her to learn to balance so she wouldn't need training wheels. She thought she just didn't need training wheels on the Like A Bike, and that now she has them on her big girl bike. And since the pedals are the difference, she thinks the pedals are training wheels. =P

Bekah has funny and vivid dreams. She told me the other day about a dream that two Maters came to the neighbor's house. I don't remember if they were trying to take the neighbor's car or hurt the neighbor's car. But she said she ran outside to see them. I was like no but you didn't really go outside. She said yes she did, it was real life! I said well you aren't supposed to go outside unless you ask Mommy and Daddy, so did you disobey us? =P lol She had to stop and think about that. =)

Then the other night there was a wooden arm coming out of the wall in my bedroom with a wooden hand and it pinched Bekah and pinched Titus. She said she broke it off the wall, but she didn't have a sword. I was laughing as she was telling me all of this and she was like no this is real, Mom, it's not funny. And she showed me where on the wall the arm had been. =P

A few weeks ago she woke up crying and she came in our room and told me Lainey took her shoes and she wants them back. I said Lainey's sleeping and she didn't take your shoes and told her to go back to bed. She cried and cried on the way back and I thought she probably still thinks Lainey took her shoes... So I went in there and snuggled her and asked her if she knew she had been dreaming and that Lainey was asleep. She said no it wasn't a dream and Lainey is up in her bed wearing her shoes. I asked which shoes. She said her purple sparkly ones. I told her there is no way Lainey can fit her foot into Bekah's purple sparkly shoes. She insisted that she had. So I asked her if she wanted me to check. She said yes and I checked and told her Lainey was up there barefoot and asleep. She didn't believe me. =P So I asked her if she wanted to climb up and feel Lainey's foot. She climbed up and felt the foot that was out of the covers, but then she tugged and tugged at Lainey's blanket until she could get to her other foot to make sure that IT didn't have a purple shoe on it... And then she was like "oh" and got back in bed. =P lol

10.19.2012

Antidisestablishmentarianism

Bekah Jane is sitting at the table saying "antidisestablishmentarianism" over and over and over. =P She is kind of singing it. lol Lainey was proud of herself for learning to say that word the other day. Emily has been teaching them both. =P

Bekah's little catch phrase right now is "thingamadoodle."  "Momma, where did I put my thingamadoodle?" "What is that thingamadoodle?"

We got 60 pounds of organic apples and 38 pounds of organic oranges the other day. Bekah is sooooo happy about all of the oranges. I have canned some applesauce and apple pie filling and made an apple crisp that I want to eat more of. =)

Titus is getting to be a fast crawler. He makes such cute sounds. He's started flipping his lip to make silly sounds, too. =P

The girls had a great night at archery last night. I think it's so cool that we have the chance to do that. Emily wants to save up for a compound bow. =) Too bad we couldn't use it here.

Lainey is into Dick and Jane now and I love seeing her on the couch with her nose in a book. =) She and Emily have reading dates sometimes. =)

I sanded down Bekah's old high chair and painted it black with red lettering (was brown with pink). I put a crotch strap and buckle on it. I made it when Bekah was two, so I didn't bother with buckles. But I made them all easy (for me) to remove and wash. It looks way better than it did before and Titus loves his new chair. Kind of sad to be putting the bouncy seat away again. =P He is so big!

Oh, all the buckles for his high chair were harvested off of our baby backpack. When we went camping in Colorado, we put Titus in it and some of the straps broke right off. All of the red webbing was super easy to rip. So when we got home, we called Kelty to see if there was anything we could do. They actually sent us a brand new baby backpack for free! We just had to cut the straps off the old one and take a picture. The new one is even better than the one we had and Titus has enjoyed going for a ride on Daddy's back when we walk around the neighborhood. =)

The girls and I made a couple of pumpkin pies the other day. One was supposed to be for our neighbors, but they are out of town, so we ate them both. =P I love that Emily likes to make tortillas and pie crusts. =)

Guess that's all for now!

10.09.2012

Cruising =)

I forgot to say that Titus is cruising, too! It is so cute to see him moving around. It just looks like he's really thinking about where he is putting his feet. =)

We went to a pumpkin patch today and it was lots of fun. Echo and Erin and Bethany came, too. We had lunch out there and played a bit more after lunch. The kids all rode a funky little horse? Donkey? lol I will have to look at the pictures and see what it was. I don't think they were donkeys but they were small. Anyway Titus got to ride one, too. =P Going to go look at the pictures... =)

10.08.2012

And the other... =)

We could feel his second tooth yesterday morning! What a big boy.

I made him a leather jacket yesterday and today out of Harper's old one. If anyone asks me to make a leather jacket, the answer is NO. lol And don't look closely at his. But he sure is adorable in it!

10.06.2012

And it's here!

We can feel Titus' tooth today. So cute! The second one is almost in, too. =)

10.05.2012

Corn and Oranges =)

Bekah absolutely loves corn on the cob. She asks for it every time we go to the store. It is the new "bascaragus." =) She also loves oranges and asks for oranges every time we go to the store, and pretty much every day. I just put in my Azure order and got 38 pounds of oranges. Ha! She is going to be ecstatic. I will definitely have to get a picture of her with 75 oranges. =)

We had corn the other night, and Emily flipped out and threw her corn and said there was a worm in it. Harper was like oh come on Emily there is not a worm in your corn. He picked up the corn and there was a nasty big worm. Not a little guy. lol I don't know when she will want to eat corn again. It was not cute. =P

Titus is making such cute little sounds. He loves to stand up in his crib and he pulls up on everything. We have these potty seats that have toddler seats stuck to the lid with a magnet, so you can pull them down and use them and then when you close the potty, the toddler seat sticks to the lid again. Well when I take Titus potty, I hold him backwards on the pot and he has discovered the little potty seat and now he tries to grab it and remove it from the lid when I take him potty. Agh! I've been trying to get him used to sitting on it and going potty the normal way, but he's yet to do it. He almost has a tooth. It is so very very close, but not through yet.

I finally finished Titus' baby quilt tonight. I am also finally painting the main floor of our house. It's slow going with a bunch of kids. =) I don't want everything to be all messed up for days, because I'm doing many coats of trim paint, too. So I pulled out the piano and did the trim behind it, and then pushed it back in, and then did the trim behind the couch and pushed it back in, etc. It's not at all efficient as far as painting goes, but it keeps it from being a disaster.

Ti Guy is crying for his late-night milk. =) Later!

8.30.2012

Funnies, Cuties, and Stuff

Lainey was hanging Titus' diapers on the clothesline and put one up at a weird angle. She said "Mom? Is this too precarious?" Haha!

Titus is an expert sitter and has started getting up on his elbows and knees and lunging forward. He can't go very far yet, but it's only a matter of time. =P I'm thinking it's time to lower his crib mattress or I'm going to walk in there to a boy standing up over the edge of his crib. =P

Titus likes food. He has had some banana and avocado and the other day he was reaching for my cheese and smacking his cute little lips. =) After our camping trip, I'll have to start making baby food. =P

When Titus spits up really big, we call him Titus Vesuvius. lol Of course, said in a beefy, macho-man voice.

After Harper's parents left, Lainey said "Mommy, I like when Grandma and Grandpa come. But I don't like how much I miss you when they come!!!" It was sweet. =) I got a gooooooood, long snuggle. =)

Emily had had a really bad attitude about going to the zoo earlier that day and that night she came and told me she was really sorry for having such a bad attitude. Totally unprompted. Yay!

Tonight we're going to cook a meal at the Ronald McDonald House. The girls have never come with me, but tonight I'm the one in charge of the meal, so I have to get there before Harper can be home. So they are coming and helping me cook. =) I think Bekah is thinking McDonald's Play Place or something so she might be disappointed. =P I might have to put together a little craft or something for her to do at the table in case I can't keep them all busy cooking. Emily and Lainey are excited to be cooking and wearing our matching aprons that I made in Idaho. =P

Bekah loves to do school and she has a phonics book that she calls her math book that she does every day. She gets it out and asks what to do and everything. =) She is pretty good at reading simple words and spelling them if you help her sound the word out slowly. Today we drew the alphabet in salt dough on a plate and she had a ton of fun. Em and Lainey made a topographical map of the area around the Dead Sea out of it and labeled Jerusalem, Qumran (we just learned about the Dead Sea Scrolls), Masada (also a lesson this week), and Nahal Hever (just learned about Bar Kokhba, too). Lainey loves Dick and Jane. She had one book (a big collection of shorter stories) and Em got her another for her birthday and I got her another for her birthday... =) So she is delighted by all the Dick and Jane-ness. I told her there is Dick and Jane quilt fabric and she liked that idea, hehe. =P

8.22.2012

Ti Man!

Aww, Ti Guy is getting so big!!! He was hanging out on his blanket on his belly and then he sat up all by himself! Too crazy. He will be 6 months old on Sunday.

I have to think of some cute Bekah things... =) She calls schmutz "smootch." Her favorite food is corn. =) Whenever we go to the store, she asks for corn and asparagus (bascaragus) and she used to ask for cherry tomatoes, but now we have tons of them in our garden, so she doesn't need to ask for them. =)

We have these really cool yellow pear tomatoes that are a tiny heirloom variety. Like, the size of cherry tomatoes but they are shaped like pears and they really are yellow. Go figure. =) They are super yummy and I love to make pizza and put those and fresh basil on my pizza. We have tons of basil in the garden, too.

Bekah got mad at Emily one time and said "I'm not going to love you until you're eight!!!" How mean is that?! lol But now Bekah tells them "I'm not going to love you until you're five!" or whatever age they are or younger. =P Like she's tricking them into thinking it's mean but it's not because it means she loves them already...they think it's funny. =)

Bekah doesn't pee at night anymore but she wants to wear a diaper anyway because I made her one out of cute owl fabric. Titus has one made out of the same print in boy colors and Bekah asks me if I can save his diaper for at night so they can wear their owl diapers at the same time. =P

Bekah has always told Titus that she will take him on a roller coaster when he grows up, but when we went to All-Star when my parents were here, she wasn't all that impressed with the big roller coaster. =P I think it was a bit too scary. Lainey went on the upside down zipper ride with Harper and loved it. =)

An Overdue Update =)

Hi! Soooo what have we been doing? Titus is spinning in circles. =) He likes to be on his tummy and he sort of tries to go places, but mostly just likes to turn in circles. He is such a cute and happy guy. I let him go diaperless on a pee pad one afternoon and discovered he pees every 20 minutes and fusses a little bit right before he does. Guess he doesn't like to pee in his diaper. =P lol So a couple of afternoons I've let him go commando and I take him to the pot every 20 minutes and he pees in it and smiles. lol I am too lazy to do that all day every day, but I'll do it enough that he still remembers what he is doing when his bladder will hold more than 20 minutes' worth of pee. =P lol Hopefully when he can get to the potty without my help, he will just do it. He is so so so cute!

We spent a couple of days at Rock River Rapids before they closed. The girls have been slip & sliding in the back yard pretty often. The most eventful thing was finding tomato hornworms in our garden. The girls played with them and named them (Simmy, Tomatoey, Flowery, Stretchy, and Squishy) and then we put them in the butterfly house. Only one is still alive. They made for many hours of entertainment. =) We read that their markings glow under blacklight, so the kids got to learn about the light spectrum and we went out searching for them after dark. Didn't find any more, though. =) They are sort of gross... =)

Lainey is 6 today and that is just crazy!! I thought Emily just turned 5. =)

We are getting ready for Gma & Gpa A to come visit. Gotta feed some kiddos lunch, though. Later! =)

Hello

Titus had his 2-month checkup on the 24th and he weighed 12lb, 9oz. =P Cute little chunky man. He is such a happy, smiley baby. =)

Bekah gives us a thumbs up when she loves her dinner and says "best thing ever!!" She used to say it every single night and we all thought it was pretty funny. =)

Titus

So, a little catch-up. Ti-Guy was 8lb 6oz at his 2-day checkup. He was 8lb 13oz at his 2-week checkup (16 days old). Different scales, though. It seems like he should have weighed more than that, since he didn't lose weight those first couple of days. Maybe he still lost some after that?

He is 3 1/2 weeks old now and we have seen a couple of smiles that seemed real, but I am really getting impatient for good, frequent smiles. Like the ability to make him smile every time I want him to. =P

This weekend we are hosting a Supper Six - where four people (we would make six) from church come over for dinner. The idea is to get to know people you don't know as well. One of the couples that is coming we don't really know at all - they are pretty quiet and leave right after church. So we are excited to get to know them!

All the little girls (and almost all the little people are girls) at church adore Titus - he is constantly surrounded and they just stare at him and smile. =P

Baby Titus is Here! =)

Well, he definitely did surprise me, coming on the 26th. =) Maybe taking the 5w was part of it - I did have more good, hard contractions before labor than I have before. Anyway here is the birth story...

Tuesday (21st) I had my appointment and I was at 4cm and 50% effaced. Kathy stripped my membranes some and I had a few good contractions on the way home and then nothing. =) I had contractions off and on for the rest of the week, but never thought I was in labor or anything. Then Sunday morning, I woke up to a hard contraction. I went back to sleep and woke up to another. After three of them I thought I should probably time these just in case they are close, because I had no concept of time. By the time I had timed two of them (8 & 7 min), I was hungry. =) So I got up and went downstairs to find something to eat. It was about 6:50. I cleaned up all the garden mess we had made the night before. We put soil in one of those Jiffy trays and planted a bunch of stuff, but the kids were getting tired of it before we got to the second tray. Since we had a big dirt mess, we decided to just leave it and do the other tray the next day. So yeah I cleaned up all the dirt and seed packets and stuff. =P I cleaned the kitchen and started timing contractions again. They were about 3 min apart, but only lasting 30 seconds. They were hard contractions, though, so at 7:30 I texted Harper (who was in bed - I hadn't told him about any of this) and said "You wanna get up and have a baby today?" He said "Really???" I said "I think we should call Kathy soon." He said "Schweeet!" lol Before he came running downstairs with a big grin. =)

So he called Kathy at 7:30 and Kathy called Cynthia to come over and check me. Nothing at ALL happened from 7:30 to 7:50, so I called Cynthia at 7:50 to say I don't think you really need to come after all. She was like well would you like me to come check you anyway just to see where you are? I said I didn't know if there was a reason to, but she was willing, so I figured why not find out. lol So I said yeah I guess it would still be nice to know. So she said okay since it's not urgent, she would go ahead and make her bed and eat her breakfast and then be over around 9. She said to call her if I needed to.

So it was still 8. Harper was like well why don't you cut my hair? lol We had been meaning to for days, and I had told him I would... So I got out the stuff and cut his hair from 8-8:16. =P I started having contractions again while I was cutting his hair and they were hard enough that I didn't like standing up through them. I went to wash all his poky hairs off of me and didn't like having contractions standing in the shower, either. So I got out and I think I laid down through a couple of contractions at that point. I figured if I didn't just go ahead and call someone to take the girls, I would probably end up needing someone to leave in the middle of church. So I called Nancy around 8:30 and asked if she would pick them up.

Cynthia got here at 9 and Nancy got here shortly after that to get the girls. I was at 6-7cm by that point. With all the other kids, I have just laid down and relaxed through contractions because it feels better. =P But Cynthia was like well if you stand up and let them hurt more, they'll be doing more. lol At first I said well they (babies) come out eventually. =P But then I decided I would try standing. It wasn't really that bad, but it definitely wasn't as easy as lying around. =P Kathy and Ginger got here with bags and bags of equipment at 9:40 and 9:45 and brought the birth chair in. I didn't know if I would like it and I still don't know if I liked it better or not, but I did like it. You can sit back in it and then tip forward to squat when it's time to push. By that time I was at 9cm and bearing down a little. Oh, actually, before that Kathy turned Titus because after weeks of being in a good position, he was posterior. He stayed put for a little while, but eventually turned back. Oh, and my water broke right after that, too.

I was not pushing hard. With all of the girls I was ready to be on the other side and have a baby in my arms. This time, I was really just wanting it to be as comfortable as possible at any given moment. =P lol I finally told Kathy this, maybe around 10:30 or 10:40. She asked if I was just afraid of the pain when he actually came out. I said yeah. Maybe a little afraid he is NOT coming out, but I'm not actually thinking that. She was like Katie, realistically, it only lasts 30 seconds! That helped. =P So I asked Ginger what time it was at 10:45 and asked if she thought I could have a baby by 11. =P I was sort of just being silly, but she said hmmm yeah I bet you could. Anyway with the last two pushes I did, Kathy was telling me to picture him going under the bone and coming out. I told her I needed her to say that and it really helped me push like I was trying to have a baby. =P So she did it again and we had a head on the next push. =P I wonder how much time I wasted not pushing. Seriously, I even sat through a couple of contractions and didn't tell anybody because I didn't feel like getting up and pushing.

Harper got to catch Titus. He was trying to cry before he was all the way out, lol. His APGAR was 10/10/10. I asked Ginger if I had made it before 11 and she said yep it was 10:59. =) lol This was the first time I wasn't looking at a clock during the birth. We thought he looked pretty tiny, but he was 8lb 5oz and 20" long. He must be more dense than my girls. =P He doesn't really have fat cheeks like they did.

I texted Echo at 11:22 and told her he was born so she told everyone at church. Jeff had announced at the beginning of the service (9:30) that we were home hoping to have a baby and they had the girls and that maybe next week there would be an announcement about Titus being here. =P By the time potluck was starting, he was announcing that Titus was here. =) Hadessah heard after Echo told Nancy and went to tell Emily he was born, and Emily went and told Bekah "Baby Titus came out of Mommy's belly!!" Bekah said "The REAL Baby Titus?!" They were all so excited. Nancy said Lainey was VERY anxious to leave after potluck and meet her brother. =) They were all so cute and sweet meeting their brother and they have all been really good and helpful. =) They love him SO much!

He has been a sweet baby. A little mixed up on night and day. =P Actually, the first night I woke him up every 4 hours to nurse. The last two nights, he has kept us up a whole lot. He also didn't poop a real poop until 3am this morning. =P That's a long time, I think! He pooped and pooped when he finally could. =) He has been happy during the day. He is so snuggly - I'm going to go snuggle him some more. =)
