Sick Kids, Fun Birthday, & Stuff

Well the girls are all sick. Harper and I have yet to get it - maybe we'll escape it. =P They are snotty and Bekah is coughing. Em actually seems to be over it already. They all woke up sick the day after Thanksgiving.

Lainey was in bed with me this morning and we had string cheese in bed. I saw her wipe on the sheets and I said "Hey! Don't wipe your mouth on Daddy's sheets!" She said "I didn't wipe my mouth. I wiped my nose!" Eeew!!

She has been wiping her nose on her mittens (trying to stop the finger sucking again) and Harper calls them her "snot slappers." LOL They hang off her hands 'cause I made them too long. =P

Anyway so yesterday was my birthday! We hung out at home for most of the day and played Wii together. Then we went to CDA and went to Rite Aid and then out for dinner. I had no idea Steve and Jen and Tim and Anna would be there! =) It was a fun surprise. Jen made me a beautiful, fun scarf - I will have to take a pic! And Tim & Anna gave me a Starbucks card - we'll have to go on a Starbucks date this week! =) Anyway then we went to a fun little toy shop down the street and I snuck some presents for Lainey Joy. She is going to love them! =P I don't think she noticed at all - she was busy playing with Titus and Ephraim. =)

Today I stayed home from church with the littles. Harp and Em went but they came home early because Emily and Asher got into some kind of spat and Emily flipped out during church. =\ At least they made it for Sunday School, I guess. =P

Then we decorated the Christmas tree, which I actually thought was fun. I think I like doing it in November. =) In December, I'm always thinking what a waste of time it is because I'll just have to take it down soon. =) Hehe, so this way I know it will be up for at least a month and it doesn't feel like such a waste of time. And it's pretty. And it was cute seeing the girls find the ornaments that they like. =)

We're going to do a Jesse tree this year, too, but it's going to be on the wall and I'm going to have the kids draw a picture for each day to put up. That way I don't have to do a ton of planning. =P

Oh! Harper got me a Cakewrecks cake for my birthday! Hehehe! It said "Happy Birthday, Cake!" It was supposed to have two exclamation points, but they only did one. Tim and Anna picked it up so it would be a surprise and Harper didn't tell them that it was supposed to be a wreck! So they called the bakery back and actually went in to have it changed to Kate, but the lady at the bakery was like "No, I'm sure this is what he wanted it to say. We've been talking about it for days!" Hahaha!!! Poor Anna. They said they were worried all day about it. =P

Bekah gives kisses, signs 'hot' and 'all done,' asks Jen for food instead of me whenever she is around (lol Jen gives her graham crackers and sweet Gerber star thingies), she runs around and dances and sings. When I'm getting her ready for bed, she'll start singing to tell me she wants me to sing her the good night song. =P And when I nurse her, she grabs my hands and drums them on herself to tell me she wants me to drum on her. =) She is so funny.

Wellllll since I stayed in bed until 10 this morning (yeah it was awesome) I am NOT able to fall asleep NOW and it is 11:20. =( At least I blogged, I guess. =) Later!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Lainey funny: The other day we were getting ready to run out the door and she brought me these dress shoes that I wore for the first time on Sunday. I told her I already had shoes on and that it was snowy so I would just wear the ones I had on. She started to cry! I asked her why she was crying. "I really wanted you to wear these shoes!" I asked her why. "Because you are so pretty in these shoes!" lol She wanted me to wear them the next day, too. =P And she just asked me to wear them this morning. They kinda hurt my toes so I don't really want to wear them all day. I told her I would wear them again Sunday and she is happy. =P And she wants her black dress shoes. =)

Heading to the Bouchers! Kids are going to assemble turkeys that I cut out and make place card this morning while we fry the turkey and get whatever else ready. Later! =)

Craftin' Momma

So it's not really that I haven't had time to blog - I've just been doing other things. Fun things. =) I have been crazy craftin' and playin' and stuff. I made my ladies the most adorable aprons. Of course I think so - I picked the fabric and whatnot. =P I will have to take pictures for you. If I don't get to it before then, we'll be baking pies all day Wednesday with the Bouchers and the kids will all be wearing their new aprons. I helped Jen cut out and start sewing five aprons for her kiddos. =P Essie and Bekah are going to be SO CUTE in their aprons together. =) Anyway my girls' aprons have cupcakes on them and coordinating stripes and adorable pink and green rick-rack. =P I love them! Right now I'm drafting up a pattern for an apron for myself. I started drafting it last week and was almost done but then I decided to do other stuff and just came back to it. And while I was looking for some fabric from my stash that would go with what I had left of the cupcakes and stripes, I found some other fabric that I thought would make an adorable apron, so I think I'll make myself two! Ha! =) If my pattern isn't absolutely perfect, I'll be able to tweak it for the second one. But I don't see any reason it won't turn out to be exactly how I want it. =P

I have also been scrapbooking quite a bit, which has been fun! And oh I also drafted a pattern for an adorable princess dress that I am going to make for Eden sometime. Emily and I looked at David's Bridal's website and picked what we liked and didn't like about all the dresses and then made the ideal Eden dress. =) Of course, Eden had zero input, but that would spoil the surprise. =P

The other day, Lainey was being slow about something and Harper said "Slow obedience is..." (It's "slow obedience is NO obedience.") and she said "Slow obedience is FAST obedience!" He said "that's silly" and she said "Uh huh, we looked it up." HA!

Oh and Lainey read her first word all by herself! I am so proud of her! Emily and Eden were playing with the tiles from Bananagrams (awesome game, btw!) and Lainey sat down with them. So I got some letters for her and kind of helped her with some words and then I put SAT together and she sounded it out all by herself! Big girl!! She doesn't know all of her letter sounds still, but hey at least she can read with the ones she knows. =P She is very good at putting isolated sounds together into a word, too.

Lainey's been running around saying "Jude, Chevrolation!" LOL Can you tell she likes cars?

So hmm don't know what else to blog. We're going to have Thanksgiving with the Bouchers and maybe Joa and his wife (Christa but I don't know how she spells it). =) Life Skills Day will be Wednesday this week instead of Friday so we can make the pies together and take Friday off of school.

Gonna make some dinner (it's 7 already!) and get some kids in bed and make some aprons. =P

Lainey

Lainey says "I love you up to the moon, back to the moon, around the sun, and back to the earth a million billion times!" Now she does all sorts of variations on this, too. =P

Wow

The closest Baby Lock retailer is in Spokane.

Bek Stuff, Other Stuff... =)

Since we got back from Colorado, Bekah has been shaking her head no. lol If I tell her something is no touch, she will put her hand out toward it, stop, and then shake her head no while she brings her hand back. Smart girl! =) It is adorable!

Bekah gives kisses now and she gave Esther kisses on the forehead this morning. They are such sweet little friends!

Well I got quite a bit done on the stockings, but I need another fabric. Ben Franklin closed right as I got there and I was heading out to Walmart but then my sewing machine decided to freak out on me and we have spent hours trying to fix it. No service manual online and I can't find the binder that came with it (I do have it somewhere) and Harper couldn't even find out where we can get the machine serviced. Ergh. But I do have my old machine so I can dig that out of the closet and get it set up normally (it's got the bobbin tension all funky from making shirred tops when I was pregnant with Bek). Guess I better get moving!

Girl Day!!

Jen and I had a fun day with the girls yesterday. =P It was day 2 for my girls with no naps, so there was a little drama, but not too bad. =P Hehe! We went to Starbucks, Michael's and Target, had lunch at Olive Garden, then went to JoAnn's, then Starbucks again, lol.

Eden is making pillowcases for her brothers for Christmas, so Lainey picked out some fabric too. She told Jen that I was making her a pillowcase with it. Jen asked if I had said it was okay and she told her yes! So then she came and showed me the fabric and I thought it was really cute and if she hadn't lied about it, I totally would have bought it and made her a pillowcase. Argh! =P Then Emily asked me if she could pick fabric for a pillowcase and I said yes. What she picked is super cute with penguins and hearts. Then Eden asked if Lainey could pick a fabric for a pillowcase too. I should have just said no, but I gave Lainey a chance to admit that she lied and she lied about lying, so she ended up not getting anything anyway. Too bad! Would have been cute!

I got lots of extra of Em's fabric, but she doesn't know it. =) I'm going to make her matching jammies for Christmas - she will be so excited!! =)

I got fabric to make the girls aprons. That was going to be for Christmas but I'm thinkin' maybe it should be before so they can use them with me to bake cookies and stuff. I got a cute cupcake print and matching stripes.

I also got fabric to make Alyssa's kids stockings that match hers and Scott's. I think they are going to be cute!

I also got stuff to make Christmas cards and Jen and I split a paper stack. I think we'll have a card making day together so I actually get them done. =)

Oh and I got some yarn to make a hat and booties for Brooke's baby! =)

Wow, that's a lot of projects, huh? And I was going to make Daisy a bag for her birthday but maybe I will make her an apron too. =P

And I might be making Eden a princess dress for Kingdom Night. =P lol I think I need a list of my projects! Oh I got stuff to make this cute tree decoration too. And whatever happened to scrapbooking?! I'm still on April. And I still have a small gap from a couple years ago. =) I guess it's a craftin' month. =)

Oh and last night we all had chili at our house and watched Up. It was super cute! Jen got most of a hat crocheted during it and even watched it. =P She found a store here that wants to buy her hats, so that is awesome! She got a bunch of yarn at Michael's so she is good to go. =) Once she has new hats made up, I'm going to do a photo shoot for her etsy site.

Later!

Bloggin'!

Soooooo, long time no blog! We are back in Idaho. The girls and I flew back on Sunday (the 8th) and it was SO much fun! They loved being on an airplane and they were good and such great helpers! I didn't want to check bags 'cause I found out after I got tickets that it was $20 per bag! That is crazy. So we did all carry-on. We checked the 3 car seats (which was free) and came back with two rolling carry-on bags, 1 backpack, 1 huge diaper bag, and the kids each had a little bag. Emily rolled one of the carry-on bags for me and she did a great job. I wore the backpack and stacked up the rest of the stuff on the other rolling carry-on. Lainey had a kid backpack. It worked out great! Oh and I had Bekah in the sling in the front - this would not have worked with a stroller! lol =)

On the first flight, from CO Springs to Denver, they got to go up and see the cockpit and meet the pilots. That was really cool! =)

On the second flight, we were in the first row. Before we took off, the kids were eating granola bars. The pilot came out and asked Em what she was eating. "It's a peanut granola bar." He asked Lainey what she was eating. She opened her mouth and showed him her mouthful of chewed-up almond granola bar. Nice. He was amused - I heard him telling the flight attendant about it later. lol I can just imagine Lainey thinking "Mommy never told me that's not a good answer." =P lol Lainey drew that pilot a picture of a scary dinosaur and gave it to him when we got off the plane. =P It was very cute.

Some other Colorado cuteness:

We were driving to Pueblo and Lainey saw a Taco Bell. She said "Grandma!! Turn around, 'cause I love Taco Bell!! And it's yummy!" On the same trip, it was already dark but she got excited about the mountains and asked "Are we going hiking?!" =) She LOVES to go hiking.

Lainey got dressed in her ballerina shirt and tutu-like skirt that Grandma A got her at Carter's. She told my mom and my sister, "I am so cute. I mean, I am SO. CUTE." lol!!

Emily made up this joke where she says "Grandma - bee!!" Like there's a bee in the room. 'Cause the grandmas are Grandma A and Grandma B. Then Lainey made up her joke - "Grandma - A!" Hehe! Not quite as funny. =P

For a while on one of the car trips, there girls were saying "Hahaha, that's not funny, Ephraim!" over and over together. Ephraim had this knock-knock joke - it was 'apple' and then he'd say "apple YOU!!!" and everyone would say "Hahaha, that's not even funny, Ephraim." So one day I told him his own joke and he said "Hahaha, that's not even funny." LOL! Anyway that's where it came from. =P

This week I don't really remember much. =) Monday we cleaned, had a Starbucks date, and cleaned some more. Then had dinner with Steve and Jen. Tuesday...hmm I have no idea. I cleaned more, I think. =) Wednesday? Bah, I can't remember that either. Thursday (yesterday) was MOPS and I went but decided I'm not going back. The conversations in my group were very negative about children and I just don't relate at all to the women and I would rather be with my kids than at MOPS. Anyway after MOPS, Anna came over and Titus and the girls played and then we went over to Colin and Mandi's house for dinner.

Today was school with the Bouchers and we did art class, practiced verses for Awana, made THANKS signs for Thanksgiving, and baked Roman bread from their history book. Harper and I also had to run out this morning and deal with some house stuff - the title company said they didn't get something they needed (very weird bc we have record of having it notarized, we remember it, and none of the papers were separated after being notarized - but they got all the other stuff) and we had to run out and get something notarized and in the mail.

That means Harper has to work tomorrow. He probably would have had to anyway, but now it's gonna be all day and we're not going to get to see his family in Montana. His cousin lives there and his aunt and uncle and grandparents were going to be there and we were going to get to see them all. It is snowing, though, too, so maybe we wouldn't have been able to go anyway. I don't know how much it's supposed to snow.

Anyway then there was Awana tonight and Em was so excited to get her wings and some of her jewels. And we found out about Kingdom Night - the next dress-up night - and they can dress up as princesses! Yay! =) That will be fun and they already have princess dresses.

Some other funnies:

The other day, I hear Lainey and Harper...
L: Can I have some more red stuff?
H: What red stuff?
L: Uh...uh...you hold the green thingie and bite the red part!
H: A strawberry?
L: YEAH!

And a little while later, he was giving her a raspberry and...
L: Can I have some...other one that I told you?
H: Strawberries?
L: (nods)

Hehe! Weird girl. She knows what they are - she just was spacing it out, I guess. =P

Today, Lainey had tonic water at lunch. I asked Ephraim if he wanted tonic water, regular water, or milk. He looked at Lainey's cup and said "I don't want that, I want milk. But I still yove Yainey. I weally yove Yainey!"

Another Lainey funny:
L: Mom, do you know what Em's pretending to be?
M: No, what?
L: A mommy.
M: Really?
L: Yeah!!
M: Well, you know what I'm pretending to be?
L: What?
M: A mommy!
L: No, you aren't pretending to be a mommy. You ARE a mommy!
M: How do you know I'm a mommy?
L: Because!! You have big shoes!!

Tomorrow we're going to have a girl trip to Coeur D'Alene, since Harp has to work and Jen wants to go to Michael's. =) Emily's not too excited about the trip (it is a long time in the car) but I think she'll have fun with Eden and it won't be too excrutiating! =P I don't like driving to CDA, either. =)

Harper got Up on Netflix, so tomorrow night the Bouchers are coming over for a movie night. We'll hope it actually comes! =P

Randomness: Bekah says "dog" (without the g sound), "um-num-num" (what we say to her when she's eating something yummy), "Mama," and she kind of says "more" but it's like "muh, muh, muh." Oh, and she says "roar!" Hehe! Harper's mom got her this lion from Carter's that says "roar!" She loves it and says it back. =) Bekah loves the tutu I made her for her birthday and she loves doing Ring Around the Rosie. She even sings when she does it. =) She loves dogs and cats. Especially dogs. =) She has also in the last week discovered Esther's pacifier. =P She likes to take it and wander around with it. I think she is chewing it, not sucking it, but she keeps it in her mouth for a while. I'm thinkin' maybe we'll try that on Sunday and maybe I'll actually stay in the big room for the whole service! =) They have speakers in the cry room, but I'd rather not be separated from the rest of the fam. =)

Oooookey dokey well I'm going to get to sleep! Later! =)

Babies

Lainey Joy is so funny. Her babies are usually Bekah Jane, Lisa, Saral, or Tarsha. Saral and Tarsha she totally made up but she loves those names. =P I think it's so cute!

So this morning, we're going to watch a They Might Be Giants video and then Terrie and I are getting our hair cut. =P Imagine that - it's only been 3 months. Usually it's like once a year. =P lol Anyway then we're heading to Oshkosh to exchange some things and then we're heading to Pueblo (where my parents live). And maybe some other things. But those are the plans I know of. Oh and to go to the post office. =P

I finished my doilie on the trip here! =P I started it when we went camping and worked on it very very slowly. =) It took a long time. It's pretty and I had been saving the pattern since 2004 or 2005, so I'm glad I finally made it. =P But I think it will be a long time before I make another. =)

I'm working on some pink booties like the ones I made for Lily (Anna's baby) for Bekah, to take pictures of her in them with the blue and pink tutu I made her for her birthday. =) I don't have much done, but I can probably get at least the soles done on the way to Pueblo today.

If anyone is into Wii, or would be buying games as Christmas gifts, there is a good deal on games at Target through Saturday. They are buy 2 get 1 free and there is a Target toy coupon (you can get them on the Target website or even print them from the website at the kiosk in the store) for $10 off 2 Wii games. So the best scenario is to buy 6 games so you can use 3 coupons (yep you can use 'em even on the free games because store promotions are separate from coupons). If you're getting $15 games, they come out to $5 each. If you're getting $50 games, they come out to $28 each. I got 3 $50 games and 3 $40 games last night and with tax and everything paid just under $160. So if you have Wii people on your Christmas list, this is an awesome deal! =) ALL Wii games $14.99-$49.99 count, which includes the WiiSports Resort with the motion thingy. Pretty much all the Wii games are in that range. =P

Okay off to watch TMBG and maybe make part of a baby bootie. Later!

Road Trip

Hey! We're in Colorado now. We left Saturday around 12 and got to Billings. Then left Billings around 11:30 and got to Greeley around 9. The kids were great on the trip! Bek cried when she was sleepy, but that's about it. Oh and Bek flipped out when Lainey got the water bottle that she wanted. Whoa! I wasn't there for that and I think I'm glad, lol. Em and Laine got along really well.

Whenever we would start driving, after a potty stop or whatever, my dad would do a roll call. "Emmy are you here?" "Yeah!" "Lainey, are you here?" "Yeah!" "Bekah, are you here?" "Uh!!" lol She did it every time except when we tried to video it! It is so cute!!

Lainey liked playing with her "Skype." My mom got the girls little laptops for the trip and Lainey said you call a real computer a Skype, so hers was a Skype. =)

Today we played in the hot tub and then made pictures with Skittles and Starburst and then ate them all up. Then we got ready and met Harper's parents and Quin for lunch and then went to the mall for a little bit. Then we took naps, but it was sorta late, so I think we messed up everyone's dinner plans. Terrie called me and it woke up Bekah, who was snuggling with me. I waited for her to fall back asleep and then I slipped out and called back - 7 minutes later - and Terrie said she was going to bring food home. I'm pretty sure Nonny and Poppy had already been invited out to eat with us, so I hope they are at least coming over tonight. And Quin and Christina. The kids are all still asleep. Anyway not much else going on. Missin' my hubby!!
