Sewing and Funnies and Gardening

Lainey's still working away at her baby quilt. She loves sewing. Today she asked for some scrap fabric and I gave her a big piece and she made me a bracelet on the sewing machine. =) It even has a flower sewn to it.

I finished up a car seat cover for Titus' non-bucket car seat. He's about to outgrow the bucket and it is heavy. We usually take him out of it anyway. Our big seat was pink and dirty, so I cut the pink cover apart and made a pattern. Now Titus has a blue and dinosaur print car seat.

Bekah says "I love you so bad!" =) She is such a funny girl and it makes me laugh when she uses big words. I wish I could remember everything she says. =) I like when she says "I suppose we could..." Sometimes she says something random like "Speaking of chocolate chips, can I have some white chocolate chips?" when we weren't talking about chocolate chips. =) I remember when Emmy used to do that. So cute!

Titus is sitting a little bit. He is trying so hard. You can tell he wants to be big. =) He wanted my banana the other day so I mashed a bit up and let him try it. He thought that was pretty cool. I'm not ready to make a ton of baby food though when he doesn't really need it yet. =P He is such a happy baby. It is so easy to make him smile and laugh. Em likes to get his attention and then run up to him - it cracks him up. =) I love how the girls love him. Bekah always gives him hugs and kisses and says sweet things like "I'm so glad you are my little sweet brother!" =)

Today we decorated a dozen eggs and named them all after the disciples. Then the girls had to memorize all of their names. We took them to the neighbor's house to show her and the girls said all the names for her. Well, Emily did. Lainey acted silly and looked at the bottoms of all the eggs where we had written the names and pretended she couldn't read them (like, calling Phillip "Pip") and cracked herself up... She gets so silly sometimes. =P Then we came home to eat them for lunch and Emily started cracking Judas open. She said "Bye bye, Judas!" and Lainey chimed in with "Have a nice time in hell." I was like "What?! Did she just say 'have a nice time in hell?!'" And both of the girls were like yeah. I told them it wasn't the attitude we should have toward people going to hell and that we should be sad for Judas. But then I still thought it was pretty hilarious, because I have no idea where Lainey would have ever heard anything like that. I think it's just what flew out of her mouth because we had talked earlier about him betraying Jesus and not repenting and going to hell.

Our garden has been doing pretty well and the girls love picking tomatoes. We have had a lot go to waste because they didn't have enough calcium, but Harper sprayed them and they're getting better. We've made tons of pesto and we've put a handful of batches in the freezer. I want to put tons in the freezer. =) Emily is pretty proud of all of that basil because she planted most of it and it is huge now.

Sewing, Zombie Ears, Etcetera

Lainey is sewing a quilt right now and she says it is the funnest thing she has ever done. Even funner than skiing. =P lol She was going to make a doll quilt like Emmy's but then decided she would go for a baby quilt for Titus. =) There is some pink floral fabric in it, but that's okay. It is mostly red and green with farm animals and fruit. She is doing a really great job and not getting the least bit bored. =) That is exciting for me!!! =)

So, when we were in Boston and in the limo, Harper asked if I was still feeling bad. Bekah thought he was talking to her, because she had puked in the hotel in Chicago. She was totally rude, but somehow ridiculously funny, when she said "I'm not sick. You don't even know."

At some point on that trip, she fell and hurt her ear. None of us remember it happening (even her), but she had a big bruise at the top of her ear. She wore some big-ish earrings that Aunt Laurin gave her for the wedding and then had them in all the next week. Well, one fell out and I took the other one out of the bruised ear. The bruise had apparently spread and all around her earring hole it was rock hard. Like, all the way through, it felt like. It was disgusting. Bruised and crusty... Eew. Harper called it her zombie ear. lol We thought she would have to get it repierced, but after a few days I tried putting an earring in from the back and it poked out below where the zombie skin was. So I put an earring in the right way and let the zombie skin hang out there above it. This morning, it wasn't hanging by much and Emily pulled it off. Bekah came running to me and said "Hey, Mom! Guess what?! Emily took off my zombie ear!!" Hahaha!!

Boston Trip

So, I'm sad about all of the funny things I've missed out on remembering because I've been on Facebook instead of blogging. So I will try to remember some of the funny things from our trip to Boston for my sister's wedding... =)

We sat in a hot airplane in Wichita for two hours before they told us all we had to get off. There were grown men having fits over it and people being nasty to the stewardess. The delay was due to a bad storm in Chicago. Anyway so Bekah is sitting across the aisle from me and she says "Momma, when we get off of this airplane, could we please find a Starbucks to get some water because I am very, very thirsty." =P lol It was too cute! We had gotten to Wichita to go to the water park maybe a week before this and realized we had no water to drink and it was hot. I didn't want to go into a store to get bottled water, and decided to drive through Starbucks and get a drink for myself and then four cups of water. The drive through was closed and we ended up going in, but it was good, cold water and it was free. =P And I got a Frap. =P

We missed our connection in Chicago and it took a while to get a hotel room. We bought dinner at a stand at the airport and I got a Greek salad. We waited to eat until we were at the hotel, and I wrote an email to Echo while I was eating my salad. Bekah came and started feeding me my salad while I was writing to Echo, so I just opened my mouth and ate whatever she had on the fork. Well she fed me an olive and Lainey said "Mom! Bekah just spat that olive out of her mouth and then fed it to you!!" Eew! I asked Bekah if that was true and she said "Well, I regreased it!" As in, she dipped it back in the dressing. Gross! So I told Echo about it in my email and as soon as I was done typing it, Bekah threw up. lol I did end up getting sick, too, but I never threw up. The good thing about throwing up in a hotel room is you don't have to clean it all up yourself. Ha! Lainey threw up in Boston right before we left for the airport, too. I was glad nobody threw up on the plane. Or anywhere I had to clean it up. lol =)

We didn't see a whole lot of Boston, but went into the first public library. There was a cellist playing in a little garden courtyard and Harper was disappointed that nobody was smoking a pipe, lol. He thought he would see people smoking pipes in Boston. =P He got me to try his pipe the other night when he was smoking with a friend on the porch. It is the first time I smoked anything and it is as disgusting as I imagined it to be.

We rode the T and the girls thought that was pretty cool. =) And got manicures, and I got a pedicure, too. =) And the girls and I all had our first limo ride, to and from the chapel where my sister got married. Harper was with us - just wasn't his first time in a limo. =)

We had tons of fun in the photo booth and came home with a bunch of pictures. We set up a photo booth for Nellie's wedding the next week and it was super fun. Now we have the stuff to do a photo booth for birthday parties and stuff.

Emmy is upstairs making coconut biscuits. She loves to cook! A couple of weeks ago she made banana bread for our neighbors and they loved it. She has taken them basil from her garden, too. We studied plants for part of the year and we started a garden where a pool used to be in our back yard. Each girl has her own garden bed to take care of. Bekah's has cherry tomatoes in it - one of her favorite foods ever.

The other night before girl bed, we decided what thing in the garden each of the girls was like. Harper said Emily is like a spicy pepper, Lainey is like pink flowers, and Bekah is like cherry tomatoes. lol

I love having a big back yard for the kids to play in. =) They have a bunch of "hideouts" in the landscaped areas and the sides of the house.
March 13: Titus, pulling Em's hair... "Aaah, he's pulling my hair. It's okay, Titus. I'd rather have a little brother than hair." :)

June 2: Bekah: Look! (grabbing) There's a rock stuck to our car!
Lainey: That's not a rock; that's fried up bird poop!

June 5: Bekah showed Harper her "mashticated" green bean...

June 12: My little man slept until 6:50! =)

June 13: Last night, Titus slept ALL night for the first time! I woke him up at 7:30 when I usually get him up for his first feeding. =P Unfortunately, I woke up at 2am to Bekah screaming "Emily!! I won't love you until you are EIGHT!!!" So I didn't exactly sleep all night. lol

June 15: Harper tried to fix an oil pastel that Bekah broke by melting the ends and sticking them back together. It melted all over the counter and wouldn't stick together and he announced that it was an epic fail. Bekah went back to Emily and Lainey and said "We're drawing with epicfail!" lol

June 16: On the way to a princess tea party, Laine wore an eye patch. On the way there, my kids named themselves Princess Cheddar, Princess Mozarella, Queen Gouda, and Prince Parmesan. lol

June 18: Me: Hey, Bekah, what are you doing?
Bekah: Well...um...I'm not...um...I'm upstairs and I'm not doing anything.
This is worrisome. :)
Emily went to check. =) She had taken the gum upstairs and was afraid she would get in trouble. She didn't chew any of it, unless she ate it. =P lol

June 19:
"I like bunnies. The meat and the pets!" - Lainey Joy =)

June 22: LOL Titus just babbled "gungan." Lainey would be proud. She is napping though.

June 25: Me, holding what is left of my chocolate bar that I found in the basement, and trying not to laugh: Bekah, is there anything you want to tell me?
Bekah: Well....um...I love you. I really, REALLY love you.

June 26: Em: Babies are worth way more than a car.
Laine: Yeah, I would rather have a baby and walk than have a car!!
lol They are so cute! I totally agree. I am so blessed to get to be with them. And even have a car, too. :)

July 5: Bek: Mom, can I have a circle cheese?
Me: Umm, what is a circle cheese?
Bek: The kind of cheese that has a circle of ear wax and then cheese inside the ear wax.
Me: Oh, a Babybel?
Bek: Yeah!!

lol I have told her so many times that it is wax, but *not* ear wax. I guess she mostly hears about ear wax?? =)

Okay I'm caught up on the funnies from Facebook and I am deleting Facebook. I hate Facebook. I will try to update on here more, which I will have more time for if I'm not sucking it all away on Facebook. I want to dump my smart phone, too. Maybe I should just go live in a cave. =P

Anyway a Bekah cuteness right now is that she will say "I love you, but..." As in "I love you, but can I have some water?" or "I love you, but can we go to the playground?" And sometimes it's just "I love you, but I love you, but I love you, but I love you." lol I think she means "and." =) She is too cute!

Titus has been rolling for a while, both ways. He is trying to sit. He's been sleeping all night for over a month. He is a total joy. The girls still adore him and it's great having such big helpers. Emily can get him in and out of his car seat and loves to be asked to. =P They are all very gentle with him. Bekah sort of has to be watched, though, lol. She gave him a rock and tried to put it in his mouth. ??? Hopefully she's learned not to do that again.

Titus has been feeling either sick or like he's teething for the past couple of days. He's snotty and has diarrhea. Usually he doesn't even poop every day and yesterday he did 6 times. Made me really glad I taught him to use the potty. It all went in the toilet and I wasn't dealing with blowouts all day. I think the combination of pooping on the potty and cloth diapers for pee is just perfect for me. He actually pees in the potty almost every time I take him, too - it's just that he pees in between in his diaper also. I think as he gets bigger and pees less often, he'll be getting it all in the potty, too, which is cool. I can hope. =)

Harper thinks photo uploads might be faster on blogger than they used to be. I'll check later. =) Gonna go play with my little Bek. Lainey is still asleep and Emily is looking at all of the cards in a game. =)
