I just noticed in the Arby's mouth pics, you can see one of the Walmart stickers Em stuck on Lainey's back. Everyone at Walmart loves Em and she got five stickers when we went the other day. =P She shared with Lainey, hehe.

Girls, Girls, Girls

Well today was sort of a just okay day. Emily was cranky for a while and everything fun we tried to do got ruined. =(

We made finger paint and she dumped some out before I even colored it. I told her no more dumping paint. Well like 5 minutes into painting, she picked up the yellow tub and said "DUMP!!" And dumped it. End of fingerpainting.

Then later we went to the playground and I was holding Lainey so Emily took the opportunity to run for the car in the back yard of the house next to the playground. It's one of those plastic beetle-like cars. She always wants to go over there and I tell her no but today she just took off and when I told her to stop, she started laughing and kept going! End of playground. I think it's gonna be a while before we go back without Daddy. We were going to meet Melissa and her girls at the playground and I had to call her back like 5 minutes after we got there and say we were going home.

Em went down for a nap as soon as we got home and I fed Lainey and then we both slept too. Then Melissa and her girls came over and Emmy and Annaliese had fun playing together. Em calls her Liese. Really cute! =P Annaliese kept pulling Em's thumb out of her mouth, like what in the world are you doing sucking that? lol It cracked me up. =) Anyway Melissa and I had fun talking.

Then Harp came home around 6. He went to look at a fridge/freezer after work and we might buy it tomorrow. $75 for a side-by-side one that we would put in the garage. We were thinking about a chest freezer, but if we have the fridge part, we could keg rootbeer and Harp really wants to do that. Speaking of brewin', we bottled some beer the other night that is supposed to be like Fat Tire. We'll see! I think we have 5 more days to wait for it to be good.

Today, Lainey's cord fell off! I remember crying when Emily's fell off because she wasn't a baby anymore. lol! I am so glad for Lainey's cord to be off. =P

Got some stitching done on the birth announcements and got pics printed for them...

I don't think Emily is sleeping for most of her nap time. But she is very quiet in there... I don't know if she is playing or not, but every time I've opened the door, she's been in bed and then had a fit that I left her again... When she gets up from her nap she always has something in bed with her. I think we need a webcam in there so I can watch from outside. =P

Last night, June brought us dinner and it was SO good. We had it again tonight. She brought herb salad, sourdough bread, tons of fruit (a huge sack), this Italian chicken dish with angel hair pasta, corn, and a thing of Breyer's sherbet. It was enough to feed us three times and then some!

Fun Stuff

Well Harper's mom left yesterday, so it's just me and the girls during the day! We met Harp for lunch yesterday and Terrie left from there. The girls and I all had a nap when we got home and then at like 4:00 I cried. It hasn't been hard at all being alone with the girls, I just missed Terrie.

Today we went to Walmart 'cause it's banana day and we took Lainey to see Miss Joyce, but we didn't take any pictures. She called the other night because Em's pictures came in and she wanted to see if I had finally had the baby. =P And she got another job so she will only be there until the 20th, which is way sad because Em loves to have her take her pictures.

The girls are sleeping now and I spent like half an hour on the couch with Lainey, not sleeping... So now I'm going to finish making a pillow and work on birth announcements. Maybe we'll paint later today or something. Emily hasn't done anything good and messy in a while. =)

I SO love having two girls! And I love that I'm in bed on my back with the computer on my belly. =) But I do miss the ledge when I hold Em, hehe. She is much heavier without the belly holding her up.

Colors & Purple

Em is really into talking about the color purple. =P She asks for purple panties all the time. =P Tonight, Em asked for a cracker and Terrie asked which one she wanted (we had the leftovers of a variety box in a baggie) and Em said "purple!" Tee hee. Yesterday she said she had a blue cracker and a purple cracker.

CK was asking Em colors yesterday and Em called everything purple except the thing that actually was purple and she called that one pink. =P

Sisters

Emily loves having a sister so much. I think it is so sweet. The other morning, she ran into our room, thinking Lainey would be there because the day before I had just finished nursing when Em got up. She said "baby?" And I took her to see Lainey in her bassinet. She said "Mommy, please, baby?" and wanted me to get her up. I told her we were going to let Lainey sleep. Emily fussed about it. I think that's the third time she's had a bad attitude about not getting to see her sister. Funny that a bad attitude is kinda sweet. =P

Funnies

Well Harp is mowing, Lainey's sleeping, and Terrie and Em are at Walmart. So I'm going to try to remember some of the funny things that have happened recently or cute things Em has done. =)

At church yesterday, this little girl (4 years old) asked Terrie "Are you Emily's great-great-grandma?" Actually Terrie said there were more greats in there than that, but she didn't remember how many, lol. She said "Well I'm a pretty great grandma!" lol

When we read Emily's Gill book from the Nemo set, we say all the names of the fish in the tank at the end. Peach is the name of the starfish and when we ask her what his name is, she says "Fruit!"

Earlier today, I was feeding Lainey and Em was climbing around behind me. She found a mole on my neck and pointed to it and said "Nipple!" I told her it was a mole. She said "nipple." I said "mole." She said "nipple." I said "it's a mole! ... What is it Emily?" "Nipple!" LOL It cracked me up. She was sure it was not a mole. =)

GROSS

So I think I blogged before about how I got these flip flops to wear home from the hospital because I wouldn't have to wear pantyhose anymore. Well I wore them home but only for a little bit. Day before yesterday, when we were running around town, I had those on and my feet got sweaty in them. They felt totally gross (they felt a little weird the first time I put them on, like there was some chemical on them maybe from manufacturing?). Well then my feet started to itch Sat night and yesterday I noticed that I had these spots on my feet. I thought it was an allergy to something on the shoes but we sent Harper's dad pics and he said it's FUNGUS. Eeeeeew, how sick and disgusting is that??? I have to put this cream on my feet 3 times a day. Nasty.

I'm about to go get my teeth cleaned. I made the appointment 6 months ago, thinking I'd have a bigger baby by now. =P But I'm going anyway. The dentist's wife nursed their kids and he doesn't care if we mess up his schedule having to nurse or something.

Oh and I have a plugged duct that has been big for like 3 days. It doesn't hurt and it's kind of in my armpit, so I don't notice it. I keep forgetting to put heat on it. Hope I don't get mastitis. Ick!

I am just totally gross, huh?

Em wanted to stand on the line to get her picture taken because my dad was having her stand there the other day to take pics. Only my dad was taking them from the kitchen, hehe. So my silly girl wanted to stand facing that way. She would turn her head to look at me and grin - I wish I had snapped a good picture of that because it was way cute. Anyway here's my lady Emily being cute.

Date

So tonight Harper and I got to go on a date!! =) We left around 8 I think and spent about a half an hour at the park before it got dark and looked like rain. Then we went to the grocery store and got cheese and crackers for the potluck tomorrow.

Today we went to Kohl's and got Harp some clothes (acutally his mom got him clothes) =) and then to Burlington Coat Factory, where we got Em's crib, and Harp's mom got us the changing table/dresser thing that matches the crib. It is so cute and I am so excited to have drawers for blankets and stuff! =) We still have to go back with the 4Runner and pick it up.

Then we went to the health food store, Jason's Deli, and Marble Slab. I had mint chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips. Mmmmmmmm!

'Kay, Lainey is ready for bed so I'm gonna be too! Terrie took lots of cute pics - we'll have to get them on our computer! =) Oh and she is going to stay until Wednesday! (Still okay for you to come over tomorrow, Ashley!) Okay bed time!! =)

Adjusting

Well Em's been saying "Grandma! Grandpa!" a whole lot today and running to the door. =( It's really sad. And she got an owwie and wanted Grandma. If she wasn't distracted by Terrie being here, I think she might have a really hard time adjusting to Grandma and Grandpa being gone.

Lainey's been a sleepy girl again today but was awake and happy for a while while we went to the hobby shop and stopped to pick up dinner. She is awake now and not so happy. Terrie has her and I think I'm going to get to sleep. I'm way tired!

Well everyone just wants pictures but you're gonna get an update too. =P Hehe. I will post pics in a sec. Again, my dad has lots of cute ones for me to post later. Only I'll have to wait a while this time because they're on their way to Colorado. =( I cried before they even got out of the driveway. Maybe even before they started the car. I don't know if Em really understands that they are going home. She seemed to, but I'm just surprised she didn't cry. I bet she will later.

Lainey slept from 1:00 yesterday afternoon until 9:30 last night. I woke her up to feed her a few times, but she'd just fall right back asleep. I thought it was going to be a horrible night because I hadn't kept her up, but it was awesome. She was up for a few minutes after I nursed her (started at 9) and tooted and fell right back asleep. So my mom put her down (Harp and I went to sleep) and I woke up at midnight and got her up and fed her. She went right back to sleep. I woke her up again at 4:15 and fed her. She went right back to sleep. And I woke her up this morning at 8 and fed her. She went right back to sleep, but after my parents left, we gave her a bath to wake her up and now she's alert and happy. She's been up almost an hour! Looks like I got an easy baby all-around. I sure hope so! =) Isn't the third supposed to be like this? =)

Another Baby!

Harp's cousin Brittany had her baby early this morning. Like in the middle of the night. They induced her when she wasn't dilated at all (don't know why) and then she stayed at 2cm for 6 hours, so they did a C-section. Crazy, if you ask me, but maybe I just don't know all the details. I feel for her. I would totally freak out I think if I was going to get cut open! She named the baby Kenda Elaine (spelling I'm not sure of) and she's being adopted by a couple in Arkansas. I don't know when they are picking her up, but it will be an open adoption and they will exchange letters and pictures and stuff. They are going to rename her Bailey. Babies everywhere! =)

I forgot to say the other day that I had the biggest placenta! lol It was sooooo huge. Kathy said it was about double the normal size. Weird, huh??

Lainey-Girl

So we didn't get to sleep until after midnight. I nursed Lainey at 9 and she swallowed air. Then she kept swallowing air (not nursing, just drinking air) and cried and cried. She finally fell asleep at midnight, right as I was saying well I might as well nurse her now so when she does fall asleep, she sleeps for a long time. Well I didn't want to wake her up after all that, so I put her in her room. I woke up at 3:30 and decided to get her up and feed her. She went right back to sleep after that and I woke her up this morning a little before 8. Now she's crying and crying... She was awake almost all day yesterday. I think we need to just let her cry herself to sleep so she'll take naps. I don't want it to mess up her night 'cause I'm sure liking the sleep. But Em always slept better at night if she had naps during the day, so maybe it won't mess anything up. Ooh I think she fell asleep already. =P

Night

I'm so glad for night. And that Harper agrees that 8:52 is a wonderful time to go to bed. =P Harp's mom got here just before dinner. My parents are going to stay at least another day - yay! I was really sad that they were only going to get one day with Lainey before going home. My dad took some more cute pics so I'll have to get them from him tomorrow. Gonna go to sleep! =)

Look at her hold that head up! What a cutie. She is so alert when she's awake.

I got this spray fan because I wished I had one when I was having Emily. But I ended up not using it. I didn't get hot or cold or anything. I had a few minutes of shivers sometime before I was pushing and I think after they broke my water. And a little bit a while after the birth. Anyway Em found my spray fan and drenched herself. =P
