Hey!

This morning I was really sleepy because Harp and I stayed up too late and Bek woke up at like 5. I put her right back after I fed her, but I wasn't 100% asleep while I was feeding her. =) So Emily suggested that she and Lainey could watch a movie and I could fall asleep on the couch. =P She knows how to get a movie out of a sleepy mom. =P Hehe! Actually I think we have only done that once since I was pregnant and exhausted (which was only at the beginning of my pregnancy, thankfully!) so I said sure. =P So the girls watched The Incredibles while I slept. I remember waking up twice and seeing like two scenes of the entire movie. =) It was nice! I'm glad my girls are so well-behaved.

Today we made pancakes and I surprised the girls by putting some chocolate chips in them. They weren't supposed to have a lot of chocolate chips in them, but I didn't really pay attention when I put the batter on the griddle and I ended up making about 8 pancakes with a couple chocolate chips each and then two that had like 10 chocolate chips in them, lol. So of course I couldn't eat the ones with all the chocolate chips, lol. So I got a lame pancake with ONE chocolate chip! lol I don't know why I think that's so funny... =P Anyway Emily was like "uh Mom did you put blueberries in the pancakes?" I said no. She said "there's something dark in them." I said yeah. She said "maybe they got burnt there. Like it's burnt sugar or something." I said "something like that." =P I asked if she wanted the one with lots of those spots and she said yeah, that's fine. =P Hehe, it was so cute when she cut into it and it was melty goop. She said "is it...chocolate?!" in the cutest way. =P Haha! She was glad she took the one with lots of spots.

Anyway... =) We also cleaned bathrooms today. Used some of my 19-cent Lysol toilet cleaner, lol. =P That stuff actually works better than whatever the cheapest stuff is. There's a decent deal on it at Target, so maybe I should get more. =P

We took Bekah in for her 6-month checkup. She weighed 16lb, 1oz. They said she was 26" long but I don't get it because I watched her measure and it was definitely 26.5" and I measured her to be 26.5" yesterday when I was checking to see if she had already outgrown her car seat. All's well with her.

Em had a shot. =( She got a KINRIX. And I know this is ridiculous and paranoid, but I have to make myself not think about the fact that I didn't look and SEE that that is what they were giving her. Agh! Anyway she was very brave and I told her to try to be brave even when it went in and she did a little tiny squeak when it went in, but she didn't freak out and she was SO brave! The nurse said she was the bravest and she was amazing. =) Emily was very proud of herself for being the "bravest." =)

Dinner with the church tonight... Donna was telling Harper that on Sunday, Lainey had to go potty. She ran for the men's room and Donna told her that they needed to go in the ladies' room. Lainey went in and looked in all the stalls and told Donna "There aren't any ladies in here!" =P

Lainey got a potty watch in the mail yesterday. Potty watch #1 didn't survive the bathtub. Potty watch #2 had a defective button and when Harp pushed it against the floor, we're thinking it made a hairline crack in the glass face. It looked fine and he set it and I adjusted the band and everything and it wasn't visibly broken. But then Lainey had it on for only 3.5 hours before I noticed that it was shattered! And I was with her that whole time and I know nothing catastrophic happened to it. So it must have already been started. Anyway they replaced it and made sure to note that they replaced it because of the button, not because of the face, as that is not covered under the warranty. Weird that they bothered to say that. lol Anyway tonight she was just talking and talking and said "I got a new potty watch and I got a new potty watch and I got a new potty watch." lol She says things like that often - instead of I got three potty watches... =)

Tomorrow is Harper's last day of work! I am excited to have him home for a while. =) I really need to get the house cleaned up really well tomorrow because it's much harder for me to keep clean when he's here. Not because he makes it that much messier, it's just that I would rather be hanging out with him than cleaning anything, so I sorta neglect stuff. =)

We played Fusion Frenzy with the girls last night and Lainey cried real tears because the bugs were eating Mommy's hamburger. She's such a sensitive girl sometimes! Oh that reminds me...this one morning Lainey asked me to get her some breakfast. Harp hadn't even left for work yet and we usually go down when he leaves. I told her I would get her breakfast in just a little bit. She asked again not long after that and I told her I would get her breakfast in just a little bit. Again, she asked...I said the same thing... So then when she asked AGAIN, I said, trying to sound serious (I am not even good at faking), "No, Lainey, I will never get you breakfast." And she burst into tears! She bawled and bawled and bawled. =( I felt so bad! =( I hugged her and held her and tried to calm her down and we ended up going down to the kitchen without even getting dressed so I could get her breakfast and prove to her that I wasn't serious. Poor girl. She is my silly one, but she is not one to joke with. =P

Guess what? I might have another graduate to add to this video thing. lol! I'm not touching it again until I know for sure if she wants to be in it. =P I have a little more time than I thought, too, so that's good.

Late! I can't believe it's already 10:30. Later!

My Big, Big A Baby!

Hehe! The title comes from the name of one of Lainey's baby dolls. It is a huge doll that you can feed and it poops and pees. She calls it her "Big, Big A Baby." She has another baby doll that has these weird antennae and she calls it "Bugga Bugga Baby." =P

Anyway! So Bekah is MY "Big, Big A Baby!" Today she sat up all by herself well over a dozen times. Not just a fluke yesterday! =) I didn't actually witness the event until this afternoon, but it is SO CUTE! And she is SO proud of herself and her sisters (especially Emily) are SO proud of her, too! It's adorable! =)

Bek's decided she likes cereal. She doesn't eat a ton, but she's obviously amused. =)

Went to a Cookie Bookie this morning and Emily was there with her kids! =) That was fun. Then we stopped by Walgreens, had naps, then went on a sTarget trip (Target with a Starbucks = sTarget to my girls). We met Alyssa and Hannah for a Starbucks date. =) Then we did some shopping at Target.

We got Emily a booster seat and she is overjoyed. =) We were looking for a car seat for Bek and realized that the one Lainey is in can be turned around for a baby. So instead of getting another like that, we did a car seat shuffle and Em got a booster. The cover on it isn't all that pretty, but very easy to make a pattern out of, so I think I will surprise her with something special. =) Maybe even make a couple so I can wash them without having a seat out of commission. I need to do that for Laine's seat. It's pink fabric and it gets nasty SO quickly!

Anyway since my "deals" were kind of overtaking my blog, I decided to make a deals blog. So if you don't want to hear about them, you don't have to sift through my posts. =) And if I ever (when I someday, I mean) make my blog into a book for my kids or myself or whatever, it won't be full of random shopping trips. =) So that blog is here.

In other news, I'm working on the graduation video for this year. I vaguely remember asking you all to talk me out of this if it ever came up again. =P lol And here I am. Only THIS time, I made the deadline for pictures THREE weeks before it had to be shown (and I think it actually turned out to be 2.5 weeks before it had to be shown because I think they're showing it the Wed night before the Sun morning I knew about...). I got the last pictures today - only 9 days late. ;) But I am still very happy because, in the past, I have gotten pictures like the DAY BEFORE and I tell ya what, that is rotten. =P

Anyway it's late. I keep wanting to go to bed early. =P

4.26.2009

Crawler!

Bekah took two crawl-steps and fell down. =P Too cute!! She is adorable!!! =) =)

Cuteness

Today Emily was reading a book at church about how the church helps people. One page said "Our church gives clothes to people who need clothes." She snickered and kind of closed the book with her finger in it and brought it to me. She giggled as she showed it to me. I read it and said "yeah..." Then she smiled funny and whispered in my ear: "That means they give clothes to people who don't have any clothes on!!"

Em got her $1 the other night for making our dinner. She was SO proud of herself for making dinner all by herself and she is still talking about it. Anyway when she got her dollar, she asked if we could go to Target so she could get Bekah another set of silverware! So sweet! =)

Bek-Bek

Can you believe she will be 6 months tomorrow?! I can't! =)

Babies Of Mine =)

I took no pictures of them actually playing in the water! Bekah had so much fun splashing in Joshua's little pool and bouncing on the side of it. =) So when we got home I asked for a picture. They were actually excited about doing this! =P They like sisters pictures. =)

Big Girl Bekah!

Bekah woke up from her nap and was just making cute sounds. I walked in and she was sitting up in her crib talking! Too cute! I can't believe she is almost 6 months old. Time flies.

Sugar Funnies

Well the sugar has been reduced but not eliminated. Harper bought Pop Tarts a while ago for himself to take to work. There was a pack left and he "didn't want it to go stale" so he gave it to the kids. lol Agh! Anyway Lainey was eating her piece and said "This sounds like peanut butter and jelly!" lol Then she said "This makes me serious, Mommy!" lol I love that girl... =)

Woman = Fat

Harper asked Lainey if she had a fat tummy.

Emily: Dad, you should say woman.
Harp: Why?
E: Because you can say 'woman' if you mean 'fat.'
H: What?
E: Because 'woman' means 'fat!'
H: No it doesn't.
E: Well sometimes it does.
H: No, 'woman' never means 'fat.'
E: That's what mom said.
H: No, it NEVER means 'fat.'

lol Then their conversation registered in my brain and I explained that it can and I'm the one that taught her that. =) We saw a store the other day (Dress Barn, I think) that had a sign that said 'woman.' Em asked why it said that and I told her it was a euphemism (she and Grandpa had just been talking about euphemisms the other day) and that it meant big sizes, like for people that are fat. =P

Harp said he has never heard of the 'woman' department! lol He is weird...

Random Bits of Information

=) Emily has told us on a few occasions that she likes taking a bath with Lainey because she likes how Laine's eyelashes stick together when they are wet. =)

Tonight for some reason I started to feel yucky again. It didn't last long, but at the time, I asked Emmy if she would make dinner if I soaked in the tub. =P She was all for it! =P I told her I'd pay her a dollar for it, too, which she was very excited about! lol I have only paid her one other time and it was to clean the bathroom on her own because I had to be doing something else to get ready for someone coming over or something. Anyway I was only making baked potatoes anyway and I was going to microwave them because it was already getting late. So my Emmy-girl washed a TON of potatoes (Harp told her to do them all, not realizing I guess that we had a bunch!) and then I told her to just do 6. lol She stabbed each one with a fork 5 times and put them on a plate and microwaved them! Then while that was going, she washed some broccoli and put it in a bowl with a little water and a plate inverted on the top (how I microwave broccoli) and put that in when the potatoes were done. What a girl! She was SO proud of herself for making dinner and even after we thanked her and praised her for it, she asked us to say thank you again, lol. She just liked hearing it. =) Maybe she's a words of affirmation girl. (That Love Languages book was a good book!)

We had a Starbucks date today and talked to the lady that works there. She is so fun! She homeschooled 8 kids and she was saying I reminded her of herself when she had her first three. We took the Very Hungry Caterpillar card game to play during our date and I was teaching Lainey the days of the week as we played. =P

We went to Alyssa's house today and Lainey played with Hannah in her new pool. =) Em had a meltdown about a swimsuit and she ended up not being allowed to play in the water. =( Lame! Bekah played in the baby pool and she spashed and bounced on the side. =) She loved it!

Lainey, looking at the nutrition info on something: "Does Grandma have this sugar?" hehe! Em's always talking about how many grams of sugar are in things. =)

My kids have been having meltdowns much more frequently the last week and a half or so - especially Em - and I think I know why! It just occurred to me today or maybe it was yesterday... Anyway, ever since they got Easter candy, I have been letting them have a ton of sugar. It's probably a "normal" amount of sugar for an American kid, but prior to the egg hunt, I was SO hesitant to give them sugar that it was a sort of rare treat. I think the sugar free-for-all has got to stop! =P It's not like I haven't said no to sugar in the last week and a half, but when I have it's been because I've already said yes more times than I really thought I should say yes. =P They're in for a sad surprise 'cause I'm going back to my sugar-nazi ways... =)

Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

This baby lion was so cute licking the glass and pawing at this little boy. =)

More Pics

Fun toes!

Emily wanted a picture with the stuff from my $3.74 coupon trip. =P I have been taking pics but then not blogging them all. The kids like setting them up with me. =P Hey, it's hands-on school! =) Symmetry... =) Well, this one wasn't symmetrical. But anyway... =)

She wanted a pic in her new jeans that are like Mommy's. =)

Our Resurrection Day cake. =) The girls helped make the flowers.

Picture Catch-up

Random Things...

Well, hmm... I don't know what to blog. =P I think I still have a list on my fridge of kid stuff I haven't blogged.

The other day, we had the Blanchettes over and the girls were all playing dress-up. Lainey was the queen, but then she peed in her dress and Kenna told her she couldn't be the queen anymore because queens don't pee on their dress. lol!

We're 3 chapters into Little House on the Prairie. Em loves it as much as Little House in the Big Woods. Alyssa's mom brought her books out so we are borrowing them and will hopefully read quite a few of them before we leave.

We decided we're going to try to sell our house. We will likely not be staying in Kansas anyway, and we figure we might as well sell while the market is still good here. With even more rounds of layoffs coming at Cessna and talk of layoffs at Spirit, we're figuring the housing market will be pretty bad come fall. My parents came to visit Tues-Sun and my mom mentioned that nobody is living in my grandma's house and said we can live there if we want to. I hadn't even thought of that! So as soon as our house sells, we will move to Colorado into my grandma's house. There's always the chance it won't sell and we'll be staying here for a while, but that's the plan, anyway. It will be more fun to live in Colorado with no job than Kansas. =P (Mountains, grandparents...)

Today I had an eye doctor appointment and the girls came with me. They were good except for one brief argument over the only chair in the room. They shared it, but I think they were smooshing each other for it at the beginning. That was uncool. But then they were sweet the rest of the time and the doctor commented at the end that they were better than a lot of 8-year-olds that come in. Emmy took my notepad (my parents brought me a notepad that I had when I was little with my name and a bear on each page) and wrote notes. =P She had a blue pen and a pink pen and alternated colors every letter. =) Funny girl. I only saw one of the notes, but it said "You are my love bug, Lainey." =) Hehe!

Among the loads of free stuff I got at Kmart the other day were two sheets of toenail stickers. =P Emily and I have matching toenails. Pink with white flowers on our big toes. Lainey opted for blue toenails and blue fingernails. And a flower on each big toe and on every fingernail. I told her the flower on her sucking finger could remind her not to suck it because it would be a bummer to ruin her pretty flower sticker. Well she has since picked off every flower except the one on sucking finger. =P Weird kid! =P Hopefully it's working!

Other freebies at Kmart right now: V8 Fusion juice, Kotex, Aveeno lotion, Kraft Ranch dressing, Huggies 40-ct wipes (I didn't realize this but you can use that bath product coupon on this, Anna), Pledge dusters... I don't even remember what else. It was a fun trip. 29 cents for Pledge multi-surface cleaner (and we needed something for wood so yay)... Oh I spent $1.49 on some baggies but it was still cheaper than store brand. Yeah. Fun trip...

Other random deals: I got 42 things of travel deodorant (Dove & Degree) for free plus a free turkey. There was a Unilever rebate for $20 worth of a turkey or ham if you purchased $40-worth of Unilever product in April. Well last week there were $6RR for buying 6 Dove or Degree products and the travel deodorants (99 cents) counted! So really I paid tax on them all, but $2.10 is still a good deal for a turkey! And more deodorant than I know what to do with, lol!

Money-maker at Walgreens right now: Physicians Formula makeup is on sale at 40% off. There is also a $5 off coupon on a display near the front of the store at some stores. And there is a $10 EasySaver rebate for buying $10 worth of product (after sale, before coupons), which is really $11 because you get a 10% bonus. So here is what I got: some concealer stuff (5.99, on sale for 3.59) and some eyeshadow (10.99 on sale for 6.59). Total after the coupon, including tax: 5.83 And $11 on my gift card. So that made me $5.17!!

Only the dumb thing is I didn't think it through that well at the store because Bek was crying (found out later when I changed her diaper that her leg had gotten pinched in the cart - so sad!) and I just wanted to go... I didn't know if I would find that $5 coupon so I had my transaction planned to use up my RR to roll them onto my giftcard (because it can be used for tax)... And all I thought was okay I have the coupon so I'll get something for $5 and it won't mess up my transaction. So I got Emily 2 school books for $5. Which is fine, but it's really money that I spent on school books, as if I had spent it out of pocket. Because the RR didn't expire until next week and I could have saved a few. I had 4 separate ones. Anyway. Lesson potentially learned. =P She is excited about her books though and they are practicing things more that I want her to have practice on. Like adding without having something to count, etc.

So on that trip, I got another chapstick, 2 schoolbooks (1st grade math and 1-3 grade phonics review), concealer, eyeshadow, and a thing of Peeps (filler) and my total damage was only 65 cents. I didn't really NEED any of that stuff though so I thought it was lame that I had the opportunity to come out ahead and was just dumb about it. lol I'm such a dork. Oh and I got my giftcard in the mail finally so I used $12.50 in RR, paid $1.15, I think, on the giftcard, and got $2RR and $11 on my giftcard. Nice! Nothing out of pocket. I am sick of blogging about deals, though, so I will shut up. Let me find my kid list... =)

Oh, I gave Bek cereal this morning and she seemed to enjoy herself. =P

Emily: "I love you, Laine. You're my sweetheart!"

Emily: "I need you to wipe me. I did a horrid poop!" (LOL)

I asked Lainey what Em was doing and she said "She's readin' Milya Dilya." (That's Amelia Bedelia.) Ohh that girl is so cute. =)

We got Laine a new potty watch and when it came in the mail, she was SO giddy. As he was opening it, she ran to me and said "Mommy!! I LOVE my Daddy!!" =P Such a sweetie! =)

My parents were doing a crossword puzzle and I'm pretty sure that's where the word 'ired' came up. Emily asked what it meant and we told her. Later, I think maybe the next day, Bekah was really freaking out about something and Emily said "Bekah's sure ired!" =) Cute!

We're decluttering and packing some stuff up to move to a storage area, so the house is actually messier than usual right now. We got boxes today so maybe tomorrow the girls and I can start getting some stuff actually packed. =P I have a few things to put on craigslist, too.

Yesterday we went over to our neighbor's house and Lainey played with their little boy Brody. He's about Lainey's age. After we came home, Lainey told me she played with "Grody." LOL! She was pretty sure that really was his name. =P

Lainey's word for excited has morphed into "cy-ged." Used to be "cy-kig." =)

Last night we watched Slumdog Millionaire. Free from a Redbox (do you know there are free codes Monday and Wednesdays?), lol! Anyway I thought it was good, but it also made me feel sick. =( Not as sick as I felt from that horrid Batman movie, though. I had to leave the room a few times during that one and I would have quit watching altogether if Harp hadn't wanted to see it. Well and I did also sort of want to see justice done at the end, so I was waiting for that. That was one sick movie.

Oh speaking of being sick, Harp got sick last week on Tues & Wed. He stayed home from work on Tues and it was pretty bad. Well today right before my eye doctor appointment I felt like it might be coming on. I felt yucky all through my appointment and then I was supposed to pick up some boxes from Walmart that they saved us last night... Well I got the customer service and she called for them, but I told her I felt like I was going to pass out and that maybe I should have Harp get them when he's done with work. Marilyn walked up and told me I looked pale and I told her I felt that way, too. So I called Harper and asked him to come home for lunch (it was perfect timing) and he fed the kids and got them down for naps. I took a hot bath and took a nap and I have felt great ever since I woke up. Really weird. I think I got it, but it just didn't get bad. Whew! Now I hope the girls don't get it. We'll see what happens next week! =P

I haven't scrapbooked in a long, long, long, long time. But I also haven't really felt much like it. That's okay because one day I will feel like it and have a ton I can do. =)

Okay better unglue from the computer. =) Later!

4.19.2009

Kmart

Coupon doubles! Got $78.07 worth of stuff for $7.42. The most expensive thing I got was $1.29 for some kids' toothpaste, just 'cause I knew they would be super-excited. They always look at it and want it, but we never buy it. =P That was a splurge, hehe! Most of the rest of it was free - just had to pay tax.

Harper wants me to paint. Later!

4.13.2009

Walgreens 2.0

Okay so I went back. Too good to not get more. =) I just got 4 more shaving creams (3 mens, 1 womens - Harp goes through way more than I do) and 4 more toothbrushes (using 2 more coupons) and I found those silly scunci things! There was only one pack left and it was colors instead of black but they weren't marked! But it worked! Woo hoo! And I also got 5 Hershey's Bliss bars. They were filler. You can't use the RR on tax so I needed something 51 cents. Well they were 89 but seriously the only thing I found that was in between was a comb for 59. We have tons of combs. Okay I could have looked harder but I'm sure my mom will like a bunch of dark chocolate and she is coming tomorrow! =) Anyway! =P So here is the loot list:
  • 3 Edge shaving creams
  • 1 Skintimates shaving cream
  • 4 Colgate MaxWhite toothbrushes
  • 5 Hershey's Bliss Bars (dark chocolate!!) =)
  • 1 18-pack of hair ties
I paid $5.74 out of pocket (oh how I wish that gift card had been in the mailbox, lol!) and used a $3.50RR and left with a $3.50RR and a $2RR. So in all, that stuff cost me $3.74. Not bad! I could have paid that for one shaving cream! And if you want to try such a deal, look for the Walgreens aluminum foil for 59 cents (woulda been great filler). They were out at our store. =) Oh and don't forget the chapstick... Maybe I should make a trip to Wichita to a Walgreens there when I get my giftcard and do another crazy thing like this again.

What is really funny is I now have about 9 coupons for $10 off a $30 purchase at Fashion Bug, which is like 30 seconds from my house (no joke) and I have been in there twice. I don't have money to blow, so I won't go. Anyone want a Fashion Bug coupon?! I could post them for free on Craigslist or something. =P They printed with one of the RR coupons.

Deals Again & Bekah

Target: $1.45
Buddies Bars are 97 cents, used 2 $2 off 2 coupons
Dry Idea on sale for $2, used 2 $2 off 1 coupons
Wet Ones were like 99 cents at the checkout - I didn't know if it would have issues with my coupons since everything would be free so I grabbed those. I'm always needing them anyway.

I only printed coupons from 1 computer so I can actually do this deal again if I print them from the laptop.

Walgreens: $9.64 out of pocket, but $5.50 coming on a giftcard for it and $3.50 in RR in my pocket, so really 64 cents for all of this! Freak, dude!

So the candy is half off and if you buy 4 bags of Hershey's candy you can get a $5 rebate (which is $5.50 if you get it on a giftcard, which is easy once you have it because you can reload the one you have and not wait for it in the mail) when you buy 4 bags. On sale, they are $1.25. So I made some change off that.

Those toothbrushes are $3.29 and you get a $3.50 RR - there is also a $1 off coupon you can print twice at the Colgate site. Hmm I could get 2 more on the other computer... So for these you can pay $2.29 and get $3.50! For two of them I obviously didn't use a coupon, but still a good deal!

Shave gel: On sale for $2.99 and you get a $3 RR. We were both out of shaving cream! Woo hoo!

So I did 8 transactions to do this, but I used the shave gel RR on the toothbrushes and then toothbrush RR on the shave gel. I put the candy bags on different transactions to keep my out of pocket cost as low as possible. If my giftcard had gotten here from last month's EasySaver stuff I would have paid 0 out of pocket! I have $25 and some change on the card and it was shipped on the 6th but so far it's not in my mailbox. Anyway I think I'll go get more toothbrushes and shave gel later on when they aren't so busy. I didn't want to hold up the line so I kept getting in the back of the line between transactions and it took a while. I'll go without kids when it's not busy. =) Later!

Oh. If you go to do some of this RR stuff, look for the naturals chapstick by the cold meds. $2 and gives a $2 RR - our store was out. Also some Scunci hair ties are $2 with a $2 RR but I couldn't find them in Derby at all (not even a spot for them). Sweet deals!

Oh I forgot about the toilet cleaner. It's BOGO, so 2 for $2.79 and I had two 50 cent off coupons. So what like 90 cents each? And I was out of it, so I needed it anyway!

Reading, Sitting, Etc

Bek can sit for over a minute now! She still falls over eventually, but it's so cute!! =) I love that she is getting big because you can tell she wants to be like her sisters. =)

Em and I just finished up Little House in the Big Woods. She loved it and is now in her bed reading it to herself. =P We learned so much from that book about making your own everything. =P Emily kept reading ahead of me and asking questions about what it said on the next page. lol I had her read parts of it to me to keep her from jumping ahead. She did a great job! I loved the little random comments she made about how they did things or like "Music is spelled M-U-S-I-C!! That's FUNNY!" =) She was really reading along with me for most of it, I guess!

Emily made up the somer-nastic, which is a somersault that ends in a gymnastic. =P

Oh! Em and I were playing this game this morning that we made up a few weeks ago. It's "Noun or Verb" and I say a word and she tells me if it's a noun or a verb. She is stinking good at it. I figured since she's been identifying adverbs for a long long long time, she is probably capable of recognizing other parts of speech. So I taught her about nouns and verbs (and reminded her of the Schoolhouse Rock songs!) and she can do it. This morning, I was stacking some bowls as I was giving her words and I said "stack!" and then realized that wasn't a very good one because it could be either, but I was curious to see what she was going to say, so I didn't say anything. She laughed and said "That one can be either!!" Whoa!

Lainey says "yeah-hah" and "no-ho" - don't know where she got it but it's cute how she says it. (Hah rhymes with yeah.)

What else? Did I blog about Lainey asking for a cracker out of the cwacker cage? That's what she called the bag that the crackers were in.

Okay I have three hungry kids. Breakfast was just muffins and that wasn't enough. =) Later!

4.12.2009

Rebekah Jane

She sat really well for these and the top picture is her finally falling over. =( Sad but still cute. =P

Emily Claire

Harper kind of ditched our little photo session and let Lainey hold the reflector for that top pic. =P I didn't take nearly as many of Emily because we were running out of time. I don't remember what we were doing... =P But I usually get mostly good pics of her anyway. With Laine, her eyes are closed or she's making a funny face in half of them. =) Silly girls! =)

Lainey Joy-Joy =)

She's my fun-lovin' little girl. =)

Hey

Hey. So today we went to the egg hunt. Wish we could hit 'delete' 'delete' 'delete' and just erase that part of our day. No it's not like we hate that we went. It's just like...we're annoyed that we went. It was stupid. Should we have expected it to not be stupid? No. We'll never do that again, though. When we were checking in, the woman asked Emily if she was excited to get all the eggs the Easter Bunny left in the yard. Excuse me? I'm sorry but the church shouldn't be propagating lies. As soon as she said that to Em, Em looked at me and said "Mom!! We forgot the papers I made!!" Ohhh! That was SO sad! We had all totally forgotten about them. I felt really bad for Emmy because she was so thoughtful to have made them. Anyway she got over it quickly and we sat and listened to a man try to share the gospel in a bizarre way with an allegory that I still am confused by. It was NOT a good allegory. And half the people in there didn't make their kids be quiet, so he (with a mic) was only slightly louder than the noise in the room. Seriously! I bet you think that's a joke, but it's not. Then the egg thing - yeah that was dumb. You literally could not walk through the grass without stepping on eggs. None of the eggs were hidden. When they said 'go' and the kids started picking up eggs, Lainey went for it. Em picked up like five before she said "Mom, this is stupid." I said "Yeah, but look at your sister. You're not going to be happy later when she has all the candy!" LOL Okay so that was a really stupid response, I know, but it's what came out of my mouth and it's kind of funny in retrospect. =P So my friend thought the same things I did, so I know if she reads this she won't be offended. =) We sat and talked about all of it while the kids checked out the candy. She wouldn't have gone if their church hadn't been putting it on, I wouldn't have gone if she hadn't invited me, and in all, neither of us liked it. Lame! But at least we got some candy, right? lol Emily and Lainey have been offering us candy. So sweet! =P Oh hey and I grabbed two of Harper's malt buckets this morning for baskets and decorated them with the kids with springy scrapbook paper and stickers. That was fun. And they still have their baskets to store geocaching "treasures." =)

Emmy is up to go potty and she is SO cute when she is sleepy. lol! =)

So what else did we do today? =P I made a cake and decorated it with the girls. It was really fun to do together. I put white fondant on it and then they helped me make a cross for the middle and flowers all around it. We talked about making that a family tradition and I think we will. It's to take to Scott and Alyssa's tomorrow.

Got stuff ready to make muffins in the morning to take to the breakfast at church...

Went to Walmart and grabbed marshmallows for the fondant and a few other grocery things and I used 7 more $3 off Huggies coupons that I found in the center console of the car. Woo hoo! The tubs were only $2.30-something at Walmart. Sweet! And I got some CoffeeMate creamer for free because it's $1.50 at Walgreens (they price match) and I had 3 $1.50 off coupons. I think that stuff is disgusting, but Harper thinks I should stop blogging about what I don't like. HA! Anyway I got it for the church because they use it and it was free and the coupons were going to expire tomorrow. And this is my blog. =)

Harp makes good beer. (Yes, he is dictating now.) =) lol He really does, though. He made his first all-grain beer recently and it is better than anything ever. =) No more store-bought beer. =P lol

Time to feed Bek! Later!

I'm Sorry & Egg Hunts & Bek-Bek

Last night Em wet the bed. =( It's the first time since March 2nd! Em had worn her leotard to bed and she FLIPPED that she peed in it. She has worn it for 2 days straight so I think it's fine that it's getting washed, lol! Anyway Harper got up to deal with her when this happened and this morning, she came into our room with a little magnadoodle thing and handed it to Harper. It said "Im sorry" on it. =)

I was making a cake this morning to take to Alyssa's tomorrow and Em wanted to color. I let her go down and get some paper and she came up and started coloring. Then she brought me what she made. Every single paper had a picture of Jesus on the cross and then was folded up and on the outside it said "GOD." She said they were to take to the egg hunt today "to let people know that Easter isn't about the bunny and the eggs. It's about God." =) Harp said "What a wonderful kid!" =P A friend's church is having a huge egg hunt today. They're going to tell the Easter story inside and then go out and do an egg thing. We were invited so we talked about it and talked to the kids about it and decided that we are going to go. =) But Em wants everyone to know it's not about the eggs. =P

Bekah is so cute when you give her a bath. Whenever water drips in her face, she starts licking and licking. =P I love it! Em was making her do it over and over today. lol I wonder how much bath water she drank. =P I need to get video of it!

Bekah's getting pretty good at sitting. She still can't sit for very long on her own, but she will sit pretty well on my lap. I don't know what the difference is because I'm not supporting her. Maybe it's a confidence thing. =) She is getting big!

Tres Chiquitas

I have some cute pics of the big girls in their Easter dresses, but Emily doesn't want anyone to see her in her dress until Easter. =) Hehe! Cute. =) So you will just have to wait. =) And I have many pics that I haven't edited from the last few days. =P
