Decroded

Decroded is a word used in Napoleon Dynamite. I don't even think it's a funny movie, and I don't even remember when they used the word (although my sister looked it up recently and it wasn't a good context) but it has become a regularly used word in our house. =) The other day, Bekah told Harper's mom, "Grandma and Grandpa B have a decroded basement!" lol They have an unfinished basement in their new house. =)

Lainey told Harper's mom "Thank you for the onerous gifts." She said "Onerous gifts?" Lainey said "Yeah, 'cause now I'm the owner of them." Haha!

My parents' new house has a catwalk, and my mom couldn't think of the word and called it the sky bridge. That name stuck. =) The girls loved it. They were asked what they thought of it and Emily said "It's awesome!! You could wait up there until somebody walked into the living room and then drop a sock on their head!" Haha!! They did it, too. =) It was a lot of fun.

Titus broke his record and took nine steps in Castle Rock. I have stopped counting now. He still falls down, but he's a pretty good walker!

On the 27th, we went to the aquarium in Denver for Emily's birthday. It was so much fun! Em really liked seeing the sea cucumbers. =) We took lots of video, which we haven't done in a long time.

After the aquarium, we went to a Starbucks for her to open presents. Lainey fell asleep there in my lap. lol =) I guess it was an exhausting day! We had also met my parents in Denver at the Old Spaghetti Factory, which was fun. =)

On Christmas Day, Bekah was pretty funny opening presents. Some of it was the bad kind of funny, like saying "I hope it isn't clothes!!" while opening a present... She opened her presents very slowly and carefully and didn't want to rip the wrapping paper. One time she ripped the paper on each side of the tape and laughed that it looked like bunny ears and then hopped the present all around, pretending it was a bunny. =P It turned out to be a shirt with a bunny on it, which made us all laugh. =)

All of the girls got a box full of colored duct tape, and when they opened it, Emily and Lainey yelled "Awesome!!!" Bekah thought they were streamers and didn't think it was cool, lol. But she didn't say anything. Later, though, she was opening another present and said "I hope it isn't streamers!!" We thought that was funny and completely random, but she told me later that she had thought the duct tape was streamers. =P

Toward the end of opening presents, we sorted presents into piles. Bekah stacked hers up perfectly. Then she wanted to open the present one from the bottom. =) She pulled it out and all of her presents fell. She set her present aside and stacked them all up again, but they fell over again. The third time they fell over, she said "I hate it when they do that!!!" Actually, I don't know if she said hate or don't like. But she was really frustrated and she didn't want to open her present until they were all stacked up again.

She also asked to have all of the tags taken off of her clothes as soon as she opened them. My mom was biting them off and after a few times, Bekah asked "Are you swallowing those?" Hahaha!!

Some of the presents had the wrong name on them, so Bekah checked the size on every piece of clothing she opened to make sure it was really for her before she got excited about it. =) She did that again at Harper's parents' house, which was funny because nobody there knew about what happened in Castle Rock. =)

We had a fun time with Aunt Laurin and Uncle Chris. =) Uncle Chris was a super fun uncle. Aunt Laurin curled all of the girls' hair - even Emily's. Em always like her hair to be "Plain Jane." Ever since she was tiny. I asked her if I could curl my hair and she said no and I said but you let Aunt Laurin! She said "Yeah, Aunt Laurin really wanted to curl my hair." Haha! I curled Lainey's hair today, though, and after Emily saw it, she came and asked me if I would do hers. =P I had to say no though because we had things to do and the curlers I used took way too long. I had to do Lainey's hair in three batches, so it took forever. It looked really cute, though!

Anyway what else? Harper gave his brother an inflatable fruit cake for Christmas and wired up a switch and a blower for an air mattress and made it inflate when he opened the box. He bought the fruit cake in Idaho and he has been planning this for 3 Christmases. No, four! That is funny. Emily worked on it with him because they have been doing circuits activities together.

Kids are all in bed and we got Psych season 6, so we're off to watch it. Later! =)

Baby Man, etc.

Titus is growwwwwing up! He just stood up holding onto nothing and took six steps. He has been taking three or four steps at a time for the last couple of days. His first step was about a week ago when he tried to head for Bekah. =)

He has been busy cooking in his little kitchen. My friend Dawn gave the kids this little play kitchen. When she said little, I thought Littlest Pet Shop size little. But she just meant not a big play kitchen. =) It is perfectly Titus-sized. The pieces are maybe 18 inches tall. He likes to cook things on the stove, put them in the oven, and play with the faucet on the sink. =) He is adorable!!

Some other random funnies...

The kids are playing a Zelda game with Harper and it has gorgons in it. The other night, Bekah was on the potty saying "gorgonnnnnns" while she went #2. LOL

Yesterday, Harper said "Get ready to go, kids! We're going to the donut shop!" Em said "Why??" He said "To get donuts!!" She said "Really?!?!?!" =P Too funny. I guess we don't have a reputation for feeding them junk for breakfast, so that's good. lol

At dinner the other night, Bekah said "Since I don't like cucumbers, I'm going to delete them."

The other day Bekah said "What does atrocious mean?"
Me: It means bad, like awful, or horrid.
Lainey: I have to peepee atrociously!!
Me: No, not like that! =P lol

The other day in the car, Titus said "dirty odies." The girls totally cracked up and they have been asking him what odies are and why they are dirty. =)

Bekah has said some really funny things recently... As if she's not always saying funny things... =) But one day she wanted to play The Farming Game and Harp and the other girls were out. I told her we were going to wait for them to get home and play, too. She said "I really want to throw myself on the floor." LOL She didn't do it, though! What a girl! =P

A while before that, she had been playing Legos with Lainey and Lainey did something she didn't like. I think Lainey snatched a Lego from her or something. She said "You make me want to take a nap, but I don't want to have a nap." Haha!! What she meant was that she wanted to freak out at Lainey, but she knew if she was cranky and fought with her sister, she would end up having a nap.

The other day, Bekah invited Lainey to her "feeling good shop." I overheard and I was like hey can I come to your feeling good shop, too? So she said I could come. Well, I followed them into Bekah's feeling good shop (the bathroom) and she pulled out a claw (a claw for your hair) and said that what you do in the feeling good shop is get a claw put on your fingers. LOL!!! I said aaaaaaaaah, this is a BAD feeling good shop!!!!!! And I ran away. =P Hahaha. She cracks me up.

Bekah saw a water tower and said "Water fountain, water fountain!!!!! I mean... It's a water tower." =P

Funny Bekah =)

Bekah is so cute. So, we had strep and she was put on amoxicillin and had a reaction to it on the 9th day and she was covered in speckles. I called her my little monster and she said no, don't call me a monster! So I said okay, Speckle Bek! =) She said no, don't call me a speckle Bek! I said well can't I call you anything cute? She said yeah! I said what? She said "Bekah!" lol

Bekah has been into the Kid K'Nex lately and she has been making "poker ants." She says it as if it's all one word, but they are ants with poky things and they kill bad guys. =P And sometimes they get married to each other and have a baby poker ant. lol She made a tower the other day and told me it was like the save tower in Zelda. =P Harper has a Zelda game for Wii that he plays with the girls (not the scary one - there is more than one).

The other day Bekah was singing and singing and I asked her what she was doing and she said "Oh, I'm singin' up a song." =)

This morning Lainey was loading a cap tray by the window and the sun was bright. She said "I don't like doing caps there because the sun is in my face and the sun is bad for my forehead." I had to laugh. She went on to explain that "it gets on my forehead and makes my brain feel weird." Haha! I said just go to the other side of the tray and load from there. She said "oh." =) She is so funny.

They have really been liking loading cap trays again because we are paying them $1 per tray. =) They used to do it for fun, but it got old. =) I taught Em how to unload the trays yesterday and I'm paying her $1 per tray to unload them, too. It's an easy job, but I can't do either with Titus in my arms, so it helps a ton to have their help. And I like giving them a chance to earn some money in a real way.
