Funnies, Cuties, and Stuff

Lainey was hanging Titus' diapers on the clothesline and put one up at a weird angle. She said "Mom? Is this too precarious?" Haha!

Titus is an expert sitter and has started getting up on his elbows and knees and lunging forward. He can't go very far yet, but it's only a matter of time. =P I'm thinking it's time to lower his crib mattress or I'm going to walk in there to a boy standing up over the edge of his crib. =P

Titus likes food. He has had some banana and avocado and the other day he was reaching for my cheese and smacking his cute little lips. =) After our camping trip, I'll have to start making baby food. =P

When Titus spits up really big, we call him Titus Vesuvius. lol Of course, said in a beefy, macho-man voice.

After Harper's parents left, Lainey said "Mommy, I like when Grandma and Grandpa come. But I don't like how much I miss you when they come!!!" It was sweet. =) I got a gooooooood, long snuggle. =)

Emily had had a really bad attitude about going to the zoo earlier that day and that night she came and told me she was really sorry for having such a bad attitude. Totally unprompted. Yay!

Tonight we're going to cook a meal at the Ronald McDonald House. The girls have never come with me, but tonight I'm the one in charge of the meal, so I have to get there before Harper can be home. So they are coming and helping me cook. =) I think Bekah is thinking McDonald's Play Place or something so she might be disappointed. =P I might have to put together a little craft or something for her to do at the table in case I can't keep them all busy cooking. Emily and Lainey are excited to be cooking and wearing our matching aprons that I made in Idaho. =P

Bekah loves to do school and she has a phonics book that she calls her math book that she does every day. She gets it out and asks what to do and everything. =) She is pretty good at reading simple words and spelling them if you help her sound the word out slowly. Today we drew the alphabet in salt dough on a plate and she had a ton of fun. Em and Lainey made a topographical map of the area around the Dead Sea out of it and labeled Jerusalem, Qumran (we just learned about the Dead Sea Scrolls), Masada (also a lesson this week), and Nahal Hever (just learned about Bar Kokhba, too). Lainey loves Dick and Jane. She had one book (a big collection of shorter stories) and Em got her another for her birthday and I got her another for her birthday... =) So she is delighted by all the Dick and Jane-ness. I told her there is Dick and Jane quilt fabric and she liked that idea, hehe. =P

Ti

Titus is sitting for long periods of time. He is so cute! Ever since he was little, his smiles just erupt into a big wiggle. =) He used to always give a half smile before a real full smile and it was super cute.

Bekah Bun

LOL Apparently she was confusing sour cream and mayonnaise and not remembering what mayonnaise was called. =)

Last night we were eating sushi and Harper's mom said something about the spider maki. Bekah said "It's spider monkey." Haha!

Bekah asked Harper's mom "Do you know what false means?" She said "No, what does false mean?" Bekah said "It means you don't have a dog." Hahaha! She just cracks us up! =) Then she tried to give a better explanation of what "false" means. Terrie said it sounded like she really did know, but was having a hard time explaining it. =)

The other night Lainey requested spaghetti and meatballs for her birthday dinner. I don't know why I never think to make that because it's so yummy. Anyway I made it for her. =) Bekah took a way-too-big bite of meatball and then said "My throat is full of meatbaaaaaalls!" lol

Ti Man!

Aww, Ti Guy is getting so big!!! He was hanging out on his blanket on his belly and then he sat up all by himself! Too crazy. He will be 6 months old on Sunday.

I have to think of some cute Bekah things... =) She calls schmutz "smootch." Her favorite food is corn. =) Whenever we go to the store, she asks for corn and asparagus (bascaragus) and she used to ask for cherry tomatoes, but now we have tons of them in our garden, so she doesn't need to ask for them. =)

We have these really cool yellow pear tomatoes that are a tiny heirloom variety. Like, the size of cherry tomatoes but they are shaped like pears and they really are yellow. Go figure. =) They are super yummy and I love to make pizza and put those and fresh basil on my pizza. We have tons of basil in the garden, too.

Bekah got mad at Emily one time and said "I'm not going to love you until you're eight!!!" How mean is that?! lol But now Bekah tells them "I'm not going to love you until you're five!" or whatever age they are or younger. =P Like she's tricking them into thinking it's mean but it's not because it means she loves them already...they think it's funny. =)

Bekah doesn't pee at night anymore but she wants to wear a diaper anyway because I made her one out of cute owl fabric. Titus has one made out of the same print in boy colors and Bekah asks me if I can save his diaper for at night so they can wear their owl diapers at the same time. =P

Bekah has always told Titus that she will take him on a roller coaster when he grows up, but when we went to All-Star when my parents were here, she wasn't all that impressed with the big roller coaster. =P I think it was a bit too scary. Lainey went on the upside down zipper ride with Harper and loved it. =)

An Overdue Update =)

Hi! Soooo what have we been doing? Titus is spinning in circles. =) He likes to be on his tummy and he sort of tries to go places, but mostly just likes to turn in circles. He is such a cute and happy guy. I let him go diaperless on a pee pad one afternoon and discovered he pees every 20 minutes and fusses a little bit right before he does. Guess he doesn't like to pee in his diaper. =P lol So a couple of afternoons I've let him go commando and I take him to the pot every 20 minutes and he pees in it and smiles. lol I am too lazy to do that all day every day, but I'll do it enough that he still remembers what he is doing when his bladder will hold more than 20 minutes' worth of pee. =P lol Hopefully when he can get to the potty without my help, he will just do it. He is so so so cute!

We spent a couple of days at Rock River Rapids before they closed. The girls have been slip & sliding in the back yard pretty often. The most eventful thing was finding tomato hornworms in our garden. The girls played with them and named them (Simmy, Tomatoey, Flowery, Stretchy, and Squishy) and then we put them in the butterfly house. Only one is still alive. They made for many hours of entertainment. =) We read that their markings glow under blacklight, so the kids got to learn about the light spectrum and we went out searching for them after dark. Didn't find any more, though. =) They are sort of gross... =)

Lainey is 6 today and that is just crazy!! I thought Emily just turned 5. =)

We are getting ready for Gma & Gpa A to come visit. Gotta feed some kiddos lunch, though. Later! =)

Visit, Birthday Dress...

Hi! Well, my parents came from Tues night until Friday afternoon. We didn't tell the kids they were coming (because we wanted them to go to sleep!), so they were very surprised in the morning when I told them to go look in the basement. =) We had a fun-packed couple of days. We went to Tanganyika, which is the most interactive zoo I've been to. It was really fun! We also went to All-Star to celebrate Lainey's birthday riding the carnival rides. Then we had lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Y.U.M.

So, I'm a bit behind on the birthday dresses. I'm working on Emily's princess dress for her 7th birthday. =) She wants a Snow White dress. That should be pretty quick once the sleeves are ready. Today we went to Goodwill just for fun and found this beaded green prom dress that Lainey loved in an adult size 16. =) So we cut it all apart and she drew what she wanted and I'm making her birthday princess dress on time this year. =) I think I still owe Bekah one, too. We were in the Rabbit Hole at this time last year and then we moved and I was pregnant and I made a big quilt and I just never got to princess dresses. But better late than never. =)

Titus loves the food he has had on a couple of occasions. I'm not ready to be feeding him solid food all the time and he needs his milk anyway, but he is crazy good at eating food. We didn't even give him super smooth and liquidy food and he ate bananas and applesauce like he just knows what to do. No spitting it back out or anything. He is soooooo cute!
